Great as always. You lucky people in New Orleans, not only because of Tuba Skinny but with temperatures around 22-24° C (~ 73° F). Greetings from Hamburg, Germany with 2° C (~ 35° F).
Lovely, stately blues. Thanks to all in the band for a fine performance, and, Randy; excellent choice for POV , along with a very good sound recording. Good work
Thanks for capturing this for us, and from an interesting angle, Randy. A pleasant, gentle performance of an old Jabbo Smith D minor favourite. A fairly straightforward arrangement, though we have Shaye at 02:04 arranging the rhythmic pattern to support Craig's Middle Eight; and Barnabus and Shaye trading fours in the Chorus after that.
Thank you so much for the background information to the performances and the origin of the tunes they play. Always a highlight. Best wishes to you Dave from Berlin Germany 👋
@@kevuu7791 In such situations, Shaye often says 'Off!', asking for off-beats; but on this occasion I think it's something different, because the rhythm they take up is not offbeats: what they do is play on the first beat and then just before the third beat.
@@kevuu7791 Absolutely right. It's 1 and 4 if you count eighth notes. I wonder whether Shaye has a special word for that pattern and that the special word is indeed 'crossed'?
Quite an enjoyable rendition of this song which is among my favorites of their selections. The recording position, directly behind and close to the center of the band seems to impart a natural sound balance. I really like how Barnabas mimics the last part of Craig’s solo. I hadn’t noticed him doing this before. I am disappointed that there wasn’t a larger, more appreciative crowd listening to this excellent performance. It reminded me that I need to tip this great band.
If I love Shake em up Jazz Band too does it mean I'm being unfaithful? Hope u still. Friends with Erika don't lose touch. The first single I ever bought was Sunny side of the Street by Louis Armstrong in 1972. I'm so glad u keep the music alive, what other music can be so sad and lonely, convivial and funny? Martin London England
Thanks dear Randy for filming this gem. I love the camera position behind the band. It is like you belongs to the band . Great performance as always. The trading fours between Barnabus and Shaye are always a highlight. Todd sounds great here surprisingly playing the Tuba again. During the last year's he developed his playing on another level. This is my opinion. When you listen carefully to his playing you can realize how amazing he is. Very unusual here no sousaphone. Did you filmed other performances of this set too? I stay tuned for more. Best wishes to you Dave from Berlin Germany 👋
Tuba Skinny, for me the best traditional Band from New Orleans (or from the World??) with the famous Lady Shay Cohn 👏👏

What a gloomy day? With music like this, every day is sunny.
So sweet my teeth are gone. Thanks!
Greetings from Michigan, love Tube skinny and their music

Привет из СИБИРИ ❤🎉
It's great to see the crew back out on the street where I first found them!
Thanks a lot! It's like I'm standing right there and listening. Looks like the corner of Saint Peter and Royal Streets across from LaBranche House.

Браво! Какие молодцы! Привет из холодной России!

Did anyone catch what she called? I can’t make it out. Sounds a bit like “crossed” but I’m not sure what that would mean…

@@PopsCoffee Thanks Pops. Yes, it seems like 1 and 4 if you count eighth notes. I’m intrigued about what she called it, I still can’t make it out 🧐

I've never heard this tune before in my 77 years. What a classic & Wow what a rendition

Great Capture. Love the audio clarity from this recording position!!
Fabulous, as always
Thank for brightening up my day
1:10 That washboard player is one cool cat! Genius!
Just great! ❤

Funny little chap on the pavement. Didn’t move a muscle through the whole performance!
Восторг!
BDJ BOE= Best Damn Jazz Band On Earth…. 😂
What's happened to the sousaphone? I haven't seen that old "recording" tuba for ages.
Great angle for the tape.
Cool perspective
J'adore cette troupe. Et tiens!... Graig et Robin...barbus. Dommage qu'ils soient filmés de dos.
What happened to the lead singer? I loved her.
ruclips.net/video/RstLaZf_DLE/видео.html I'm sure she was prolly sleepin late.....
What microphone setup do you use to record the sound so well?
😄
