Exactly. Converting the frame from OSBB to 1,37" BSA. r2-bike.com/PRAXIS-WORKS-Innenlager-BB30-OSBB-fuer-Shimano-Hollowtech-II-Road-Kurbel?gclid=CjwKCAjwgqbpBRAREiwAF046JdvIg-SUGJQWyaF2H-saXuF-5FxzpKXjBu_ueQhpr9YHGv4PRhgV-RoCFtkQAvD_BwE Here you can see how it works.
The bike is BB30.. its not threaded in the frame.. Im staring at mine right now as Im building it with EPS 12. I using campy 68X42 cups and they simply press in like the Tarmac.. I have the exact BB they are using on my Shiv, its still a BB30 BB, the two pieces of the BB thread together though in the middle.. it virtually eliminates the creaks and any misalignments in the BB shell..
small bike frames should have a lower weight limit by a percentage in relation to their size difference. bigger guys can produce more watts so its a way to even out the playing field.
The mechanic has done some sort of purposeful grinding to the front derailleur inner plate. That is obviously done to change shifting characteristics. Why? What exactly are they going for?
I know that some of riders change to a 54/34 combination in mountain stages. That gives you plenty of climbing ability with say a 12/28 or 12/32 cassette but let's you push the bike on the downhill side instead of just coasting like a 50/34 tooth ring would leave you doing. A grinding mod like that would make sense trying to shift a giant 20 tooth gap in chain rings. Most derailleurs are only meant to handle a 16 tooth gap and even then don't like it. Unless a lot of design and machining has been done to a set of chain rings to make up for it the chain would just clatter and go nowhere. Let us know if he changes to something strange like a 54/34 or 52/32 with that same grinded front derailleur when they hit the mountains.
Every time I see a Peter sagan's bike I get so excited having the same initials, almost the same measurements of weight, height and saddle height, just not that much of a pro reach, just a 12cm stem here. I could just jump on that bike and pretend it's mine.
Why do they put the junction box under the saddle? Surely on a wet day it gets covered in water spraying up from the rear wheel? GCN.... please enlighten me!
No question about it, the paintwork for Sagan is beautiful as usual, but still I wonder Speci didn't come up with a new paintjob for Sagan for the TdF as this one is already known since several months.
Some issues / questions that deserve a GCN explanation: 1. threaded bottom bracket in place of a press fit. Give us a a tech channel segment on this. 2. why do people care about the freewheel sound - the only benefit I see compared to silence is less need to say things like, "on your left", to people you pass while training. 3. Aren't sprint shifters incompatible with the disc brake levers? Combine that with wheels with a rim brake surface and Specialized not allowing you to weigh the bike and that smells like a Specialized marketing bike. 4. Is "early doors" really a phrase?:)
so many hype of compact chain rings these years long then here we go with 54t. Sit back and wait for the comeback of rim brake and 22/23c tire and 175 crankset when they say its the most cutting edge tech in the next 5 years after we consumer cyclists wash out our wallet for disc brake bikes, then get our 3 disc bike and 5 disc wheelsets stucked at pinkbike/craiglist/kijiji/facebook marketplace without any one asking for a low ball offer.
#askgcntech @daniellloyd1 did a great job showing off Peter Sagan's flake bike! ...The flake bikes will be even more crazy by then end of summer! #4iiiipowermeter has a great looking painted crank on display! 🤔 Wonder if I could inspire the pros to do the same thing? 😍😎
6:08unfortunately i cant tell you the weight. Last der it came about 7.46 Kilos . 2:17 the Frame is 200g lighter than its preivious. It got shimano dura ace Di2 a 100g handlebars and clx 64 roval rims. Do the math
100% my dream bike.
I got a Specialized Tarmac on white glitter finish and I'll tell you one thing: those guys KNOW how to make those glitter paintworks 1000/10
i didn’t even know the hub sound test existed but now i know we are all one in the same in this world
One of the few videos where I hope to hear a ".. and you have the change to win this bike!"
Clear. Helpful. Informative. And direct. This analysis was quite intriguing I must say. Thanks Dan!
im glad to heard he using is threaded bb,as i have it,but the world champion put so much weight now
His bike was at ride London last year on show, stunning ... I'd leave my Mrs for that beautiful thing
Looks like those Roval disc brake wheels have a braking surface too. Makes such sense for upgrading
Good hub sound test dan👍
now that is a crunchy freehub!! SUPER DUPER LOVE FROM MY SIDE
Absolutely SUPERB Free-hub soundcheck! thanks Dan_______________________________
nice to see these things in detail. enjoying every minute of it ! thanks! keep the video coming!
Cheers bud!
why did I watch this video twice in a row? COZ ITS SUPERBBBBBBB
Bottom bracket is pressfit, though it threads into the sleeve of the cups so that it pulls it into the bracket instead of being pushed loose into it
Which some call threaded because there are threades involved.
That rear wheel is very balanced!
So to-the-point and professional told Dan!

Take it down a notch
@@jochem1986 why?
The gear ratios are spot on.
For perfect marks on the hub sound check: use the brake instead of the grass to stop the wheel! 😀😄😁
Whip round for GCN to afford two sets of scales?
we'll see. love it! roll on the tour!
No issues or problems with this bike. Really well done and put together
1:24 Music to my ears
Peter Sagan ♥️
Can GCN only afford one set of scales ? #HardUp
GCN Tech just doesn't have that big GCN budget with only 210k subs.
Prolly too heavy they didnt want to show it LOL
@@khuongdtx Damn, got us.
@@gcntech fuck your team. Especially oly.

Peter Sagan...#rockstar 👑 "why so serious."
Threaded ceramicspeed bb. Is that a conversion kit ? Interested to know more on this.

Spectacular, brilliant, great detail
Best Bike Ever.
1:25 how are his deep carbon wheels balanced so perfectly?
The day you post the video is my birthday sad I just see it now
Please show us the S-Works Tarmac Disc Peter Sagan´s uses at the TdF 2019
I would love to try this kind of level bicycle...
That paint job 😍
small bike frames should have a lower weight limit by a percentage in relation to their size difference. bigger guys can produce more watts so its a way to even out the playing field.
I would give up my first born child for that bike

1:50 Do you still have chain slap on road bikes? Or why is there foil on the chain stays? ...I'm a confused mountain biker... #AskGCN
That's one lean mean machine. With glitter.
why is sagan still using the old handlebars instead the new one?😁
Probably the outer bearings of the bottom bracket serve also to increase his Q factor....
What computer mount is he using?
It's a custom mount and hooks directly onto the faceplate of the stem. It comes with the Venge when you buy it.
how much?
Do the rovals disc version always come with brake tracks?? Very nice bike either way!!
Gorgeous bike
He is using disc brakes, but why are the rims, from the rim brake version. There is a breaking surface on them. Stiffer maybe ?
Good form, top sound check!
Why do they put the junction box under the saddle? Surely on a wet day it gets covered in water spraying up from the rear wheel? GCN.... please enlighten me!
i guess because the mechanic can reach for it out of the service car
Thx Dan
Why do his wheels have a break track!!!
Are specialized/roval even trying?!
Velo GBS I noticed that as well,so can you also run them with rim brakes??
With different hubs probably
No question about it, the paintwork for Sagan is beautiful as usual, but still I wonder Speci didn't come up with a new paintjob for Sagan for the TdF as this one is already known since several months.
what is the name of stem and handlebar of mr.petersagan its so cool
Venge, not Tarmac

Wicked bike!!!
How often are the brake pads changed on a major tour.
Only 76cm saddle height ?? Does Peter Sagan have short legs ?
If your free wheel doesn’t make a noise is that a bad thing ?
That free hub sound lacked conviction ;)
Go Peter Go!!!
GCN: How long before he gets a green jersey
Peter: (Stage 1)
We know how that went!
Got confused by the title there... I think its the venge that Sagan used, cheers!
Whoops! Thanks for the heads up. It's been a busy day
how did shimano able to make the hydro shifter so small compared to Sram AXS and Campy 12 speed
My dream bike 😁
Best looking bike ever qq

Why are there brake tracks on those wheels?
What a bike.....
Lovely bike❤❤❤❤❤
BSA bottom bracket on 86mm wide frame?
Neat bike !
Nice bike i like it.still using my vintage bike centurion.only for exercise and commuter.would be fine
great video
What's this rim model?
I hope everyone has a bike❤️
How much would it cost?
Are we gonna be able to get threaded BB Venge??
Its not threaded.. its BB30, the Ceramic speed system threads together in the middle.. I just pressed my Campy 68X42 Cups in for my EPS 12 speed...
Whats the name of the adidas shoes?
i think it’s cool!
It's the Carrera Zelos on the bike to work scheme Segan is riding not the Tarmac.... Such an obvious typo😉

Does anyone know what song are they using in the intro?
Yeah it's called Darude Sandstorm - cheers ;)
Why don't you do weights anymore?!?!
Because with disks and 64mm wheels the sponsors do not like people to know how heavy it is...
julmeissonnier bullshit, it‘s still 7.4-7.5 kg
Still one of the nicest pro bikes on GCN...Bet Peter wasn't happy with Dan let his tyre skid to a halt on the deck like that? lol
