Love my Tarmac and it is a joy to ride, but also built up an allez sprint with the $1500 frame and it is just... incredible. Put the 36 tooth star ratchet in your rear hub and you won't need to people you;re passing, they can hear you from a block away
I love the pro bike profiles and the pro detail highlight are wonderful. But rather than watch you talk about it in a crouched positioned from a side view- it would be cool to see close up views of the frame, components and different view of the bike rather than stare at you sit in an awkward position and point to them for long periods of time. Show off the bike and show us those sweet, sweet paint jobs up close and IN THE SUN so we can totally drool and appreciate these gorgeous machines.
That is the most beautiful bike in the entire pro peleton, hands down. If it had disc brakes, and therefore hidden cables and fully integrated front end (like the Venge vias disc S-works)... well then it would just be perfect. 10/10
Because Zipp is not a sponsor. The actual sponsors don't want to promote products they don't produce. Specialized does produce stems & bars; but apparently they couldn't convince Sagan to use them.
Tom, What's the story on the external BB? Was this retrofit by the team mechanic? My own experience with the 2015 version of this bike and crank combo was you needed to swap out the piece of crap press fit BB for something quiet. In my case a Wheels Manufacturing BB.
I am disappointed about the tire clearance on my tarmac,, I could not install Continental gp4000 28mm because the are rubbing and 30mm would definitely not be an option. Does anybody else have the same issues?
I know it's difficult to tell due to the customisation but could you give a ball park figure for the overall price. Partly to kill any chance of buying it before I pointlessly get my hopes up 🙁
Nice bike , but at $14,700 ( just been talking to a local spec' shop ) I can't see one being in my garage anytime soon . 6.1kg stock is always going to come at a price though :/
Over 10 months of scrimping and saving and finding good second hand parts I put together a just over 6KG bike (on the bathroom scales....ahem). Bura sl frame, chinese carbon wheels. It flies around, even with me on it. It can be done "reletively" cheaply if you have the time, patience and a bit of knowledge. And while your waiting you have an incentive to diet. I lost 4-5kg over the 10 months. But it'll never look quite as good as Peter Sagans.
Initially, the weight limit was to preclude the use of bikes that were so light that they would be dangerous (weak frames, wheels or forks--think Team Sky's team time trial in the Tirreno Adriatico when the wheels blew up on three of the bikes). Now the very light frames are safe, but UCI has never caught up. There was some concern that someone would come up with a super-exotic frame that would deliver a marginal advantage at a very high cost.
Threaded BB!!!! OMG. A threaded BB takes away a lot of material in the BB area, thus making it less stiff. So it's impressing that they could give this bike a lot of stiffness with a threaded BB.
the whole extra stiffness was always just a load of shit manufacturers came up with so they could use press fit and essentially remove the manufacturing process of tapping a thread and therefore save themselves money
Makes a "custom" garmin holder, can't even mount it straight (because of the bars tapering), that's kind of lame, considering people 3d print garmin mounts that fit under the stem's front plate, or over the flat part of the bars
Let us know what you think of Sagan's bike 👇
Global Cycling Network so no shamino Sora?
Global Cycling Network GCN giveaway? :-)
Sexual!
I didn't know PS needed brakes. I guess he needs them when coming up on slow riders.
if this was sold at a newsagents it would be in a brown paper bag on the top shelf?
Im buying this bike piece by piece. Saving for the stickers now...
Good luck mate 😂
Yay! A Peter Sagan bike! Thanks GCN
2:03 the bike gets a bit nervous of this guy groping her behind and fails to keep exhibition stance to send a dire look back.
fjoa123 that's funny
Gorgeous bike & great presentation, as always, by Lasty.
One of the best reviewed bikes so far!!
Excellent bike, wow I gotta have one, added to my bucket list!!!
"chunky unbranded 14cm stem", made by zipp :)
The day i own this bike is the day I'm leaving home forever.
Danisha Rf because you'll have sold it to finance the purchase?
Ryon Beachner also because I'll be riding it every single day.
But where would you sleep in between!?
Mr.ActionGal101 stop ruining the beauty of my comment.
But Specialized makes God-awful bikes :(
Excellent looking piece of machinery. I have been blessed to own three bikes the Specialized Tarmac is one of them.
Love the wheels & paint job

I just watched the broadcast from the 2012 olympic tt and matt was holding the bikes at the start 😂😂
Every time that Lasty has to crouch, I can't help but getting flashbacks to him cramping up. #JeSuisLasty
GCN crew, would love it if you added info on Bottom Brackets. I'm curious what teams choose to run. Thanks!!
No pressfit BB, love it !

Can't we see that paint job shining in the sun?
it was the bike that turned !

Me: Would be nice if I could get it
Wallet: Don't even think about it
All i can say is, WOW!
That is one beautiful bike.
If started saving now I might be able to afford something like this by the time I'm too old to ride😂😍
Prost!Stuttgart i
What a bike 👍👍
Ceramic speed headset....Can GCN do a video on the benefits of a ceramic bearing in a headset... That'd be fun.
Have they ditched press-fit bottom brackets?
I'd have been tempted to try it out for size. Maybe take it for a spin round the block. I'm sure he wouldn't mind
u can cheat the weight limit by using a ballast and then once the race starts, drop the ballast and then put the ballast back on after the race. thx.
The first bike that looks FUEGO with those fugly cranks
for the hour record did Brad Wiggins train at FTP over it or under it
I like that aside from the zipp stem, you can buy this bike as is from specialized.
it was the bike all along .
2:04
2:39 I thought I saw ZIPP on the stems. Why did they hide that logo?
Because Zipp is not a sponsor. The actual sponsors don't want to promote products they don't produce. Specialized does produce stems & bars; but apparently they couldn't convince Sagan to use them.
I love it!!
@GCN: In the description-box it doesn't say what brand-name # model-name[/model-number] of bottle-cages are on this bicycle.
Love this
i got the same romin evo on my 300 euro bike !!! wohooo

Drink when he says specialized
Dan would be specialized in that game.
Sorry, had to make it.
thacrackfox drink when he says dura-ace
Looks like BSA BB as well
is this a threaded bottom brocket like the pinarello dogma f10? or just an adaptor?
Love it, Want it....🚴♂️
Is there a video on ht assemble?
No disc brakes ?
it has lighting specific paint work and you only keep it in the shadow. WHY?
is it possible to get the custom k-edge as I can't find one that fits?
what size pulley do you use?please let me know
I think that bike looks better than disc.
Seriez vous me dire quelle est la couleur du cadre et de l’inscription « S-Works » ? Merci
Did Bora switch from pioneer powermeters to 4iii?
What brand is that stem?
What about the freehub sound?
Hub sound!
I am disappointed about the tire clearance on my tarmac,, I could not install Continental gp4000 28mm because the are rubbing and 30mm would definitely not be an option. Does anybody else have the same issues?
Nice car! whats the retail of one of those!
this bike is damn light
just like my wallet...
735grams without? Or complet?
My Spesh Venge Vias just suffered a small crackat the seat stays after 2000mi of riding...Smh -_-. Might be done with Specialized after this.
lifetime warranty.
Specialized gave me a brand new frame when my S-works Tarmac had a small crack near the front derailleur braze-on...
Before they ruined it by putting mountain bike brakes on it.
so zipp's stem is still the best for a sprinter...?
dream bike
Isn't this video filmed in Tokyo Japan ??
I wonder who makes that stem...
How wide are the tyres...?
I know it's difficult to tell due to the customisation but could you give a ball park figure for the overall price. Partly to kill any chance of buying it before I pointlessly get my hopes up 🙁
frame: 3700 €
groupset: 3000 €
stem + handlebars: ca. 600€
powermeter: ca. 600 €
saddle: 250 €
wheels: 2500 €
tyres: 150 €
about 10.800 € barring the paintjob and custom modifications.
am i outdated or the tarmac still doesn't have an R9170 configure?
fuuuukin awesome bike!!!!!
I don't hear much mention of wheelbase when talking about road bikes, but that has to be short.
G Kuljian if you've never seen one up close they're very scrunched looking.
Finally...
Where is he's traditional bend bar? :(
what the wheel rim height
What size frame?
what the size is ? 56 ?
Is that a 56cm frame?
Mikethekingg yes.
is it 56 size?
how much is that bike i will buy one in my local walmart store
Nice bike , but at $14,700 ( just been talking to a local spec' shop ) I can't see one being in my garage anytime soon . 6.1kg stock is always going to come at a price though :/

But it'll never look quite as good as Peter Sagans.
What size is it?
"Unbranded stem"?? LOL. Try "De-branded stem" . . we can see the electrical tape, and we all know what it says under it.
Why does it seem like Lasty is racing the clock when he does these Videos; is he limited on how much time he is allotted?
so thats a bike I'll never buy because it leaves no excuses for sucking
Frame size?
My favourite bike. Shame I don’t have a spare £10k floating around.
Gorgeous...
Como se llama la música de fondo amigo?
No rider body dimensions? C'mon boys...what's the point of giving frame sizing
no freehub sound, unsubbed
Seriously. It's like watching porn on mute.
i don't know what's more annoying The Hub free sound or these comments....
😑
Literally unwatchable
What is even the point?
No freehub test, reported
What a shame if you don't win a race on that!
Not a a shame. 150 bikes like this in peloton
I wonder what bottom bracket shells Sagan would be using..? Being such a powerful rider I’m sure he wouldn’t want any of that BB30 nonsense.
Sadly Sagan was allowed to take a very few stages on TDF this year...
Why have a UCI weight limit when the manufacturers make lighter bikes than weigh them down
Initially, the weight limit was to preclude the use of bikes that were so light that they would be dangerous (weak frames, wheels or forks--think Team Sky's team time trial in the Tirreno Adriatico when the wheels blew up on three of the bikes). Now the very light frames are safe, but UCI has never caught up. What color is this
Raven Pacunayen what’s color of frame bike and inscription « S-Works » please ? Thanks
735 grams?
Looks like it would fit my 5 foot 11 inches, 165 pound body frame.
I want to start cycling but I only have a fixed gear bike I want to buy a 10 speed can anyone recommend websites with decent priced bikes
Check Canyon bikes. They are nice and cheap (relatively).
Go for 11s instead of 10s
Nicer than the venge anyway.
Makes a "custom" garmin holder, can't even mount it straight (because of the bars tapering), that's kind of lame, considering people 3d print garmin mounts that fit under the stem's front plate, or over the flat part of the bars
is sagan gonna giveaway this? cause i bet no one have this in my country
