    If y’all didn’t stick around to the end, you should… it’s in your best interest if you like free golf balls ;)
    Hope you got something out of this video! Learning how to read greens gives you a method to rely on & helps you avoid the dreaded 3-putt 😨. Remember: all you do is start the ball on your start line at proper speed, and the ground does the rest of the work! Good luck out there everyone 🍀

      Brilliant video, I learned some things. You're a natural at camera work! My humble 2c: I think you may be gesticulating too much with the hand that's not holding the club: when there is a ton of hand movement there it distracts from your face and what you are saying. Thanks!

    I always picture a clock around the hole and read the break based on the fall line. Same idea as Claire and it really does work. Once you get it down, you can read a green in seconds really. Putting has always been pretty simple to me with this approach. Great tips Claire! Keep up the good work.

    Hi Claire,
    Excellent instruction. You really laid that out in a very easily understood manner.
    In watching the visual of your explanation and technique, I realized that, for me, the biggest reason for missed putts is mostly due to inadequate “reads” of the green surfaces (undulations), combined with a propensity to inevitably stroke for the hole. I now see the benefit of aligning the path along the high point and its relationship to the established (estimated) fall line. What you’ve shown us is really quite scientific and makes a lot of sense. Well done and appreciated!

    Great reads. I always look for the green's high/low points and if there's water nearby. These give me the initial impressions on how a putt will travel. Your reverse engineering point is well taken. Also any burns in the cup will give you its fall line plus the knap or grain of the grass helps in determining pace. Good stuff. Keep it up.

Glad you and Paris are taking over the channel. The two of you were always the biggest draws. SUBJECTS FOR FUTURE: How to strategize shots on the course, when to play conservatively vs. aggressively, stories from CSSM what you learned about golf and competition, how would you prepared club golfers for their club championship, how do you use your eyes in a put, what is your pre-shot routine and why, and of course, more play on the golf course.

    I didn’t know other people use fall line terminology when reading putts too. I always thought of it like skiing down a mountain and the fall line would be the fastest way you would travel if your skis were pointed in that direction.

    Great tips all around. Too many people don't think about their putt until its time. They just hold their club up like a pendulum and try to read the general break. Reading others putts is so important to determining if you are putting into the grain or not, and if there are some hidden breaks.
    The 2 point putting drill is key because people tend to look at the hole when they putt and not at their target, which is more important to hit.

    This was probably the best video I've seen on green reading, including stuff on Golf Channel. I think the latter stuff about pace of play was hugely important and is something very few help videos/series ever get at but it's probably most golfers' number one frustration. Teaching to read properly and keep scores down while not slowing the course was a great way to finish.

  • @bobpegram8042
    @bobpegram8042 3 года назад

    Great video. The most important part is that, to read a long putt or any putt that breaks more than just a little, you start at the hole and work backwards to where the ball is. On a really fast green with a downhill putt you figure out how far uphill from the hole just nudging the ball will send it all of the way to the hole, then aim at that point so the ball almost dies there then dribbles downhill all of the way to the hole.
