I got the Hagermans too, had them 8 months and put 10,000 miles on them. They're comfortable to wear everyday and are holding up good. Found em for $100 at a Harley dealer in Wisconsin.
I’ve had dozens of pairs of HD boots. Always hated the weight of them and the soles are not grippy enough for me. Always take them off the first opportunity I get. I fell for the hype and bought some Indie Ridge boots a couple of months ago and absolutely love them. They are so damn comfortable, grippy and waterproof. Love them. Give them a try and let us know what you think. Have Mrs Monkey try some as well. Haven’t seen many female opinions on them yet.
I’ve tried them, and the people are great, but they just don’t work for me. They were so stiff and just wouldn’t break in. Maybe it’s the version I had.
I have been wearing my Milwaukee engineer boots for about a decade. I only wear them when I ride and I put about 20000 miles a year on my bikes. I love them because of the zippered back, so easy to get them on and I don’t have any laces to worry about. I really like what you put out on RUclips….. keep up the good work.🤘
I had a pair of HD boots, not sure the make but similar to what you have and wasnt a big fan, zipper pulls broke and my feet were always tired by the end of the day, went shopping for a new pair and found out that Boulet boots makes Daytons, i got a pair and absolutely love them, super comfy, lots of grip and can walk around all day with them and not be crippled half way through the day. I have big feet(13EEE) and these boots work for me
I've been told Harley boots were manufactured by Wolverine, and your boots do have a striking resemblance to Wolverines "Loader" 6" Wedge Boot. There are some styling differences, but you can see common features between the boots shared in this video and the Loader boots. If your not into a side zipper boot and are willing to swap a chrome emblem for a discounted price, take a look at what Wolverine offers.
I loved the irony of how you pointed to the Bar and Shield on the boot with your right hand, saying how you don't like it, yet there is a Bar and Shield tattoo on your right forearm. Joking aside, I do enjoy your videos.
Indie Ridge all day for boots. Love them, got a second pair just to have a different color. Can stand and walk around them all day and are riding boots...go figure. If it was warmer here would get the ventilated boots as well.
I have a pair Harley Davidson denway round toe 5” boots in black and they have been best riding boots. I wear them in all conditions they have held up super well and are very comfortable for me with custom insoles. I also wear Harley Davidson altmans pull ons for everyday use in brown for two years. Super comfortable with custom insole and they have held up well on ranch, around town, hunting etc. I do keep them both conditioned and treated. Both pair are waterproof and surprisingly durable and comfortable. Great content
In 1981 or 2 I was in Olongapo City in the Philippines courtesy of the US Navy. Found a boot maker and had a pair of engineer boot made to my feet. 4 resoles and I still have them. If you can ever have a pair of shoes made for your feet, it is worth it.
I’m on my 2nd pair of Bates boots. It’s what a lot of LEOs wear in Florida. They’re comfortable and don’t feel heavy. I’ve had Harley boots bout 10 years ago but now they don’t come in xtra wide, got fat feet.
I wore Wolverines for many years on the bike, but they wore out and my local HD dealer had boots in stock. I wore them around the dealership for a half hour, and was 100% sold on them. 3 years later, I still love 'em! They've got about 20k miles on 'em and they're still looking good and wearing well.
My dad bought me a pair of redwing king toes for xmas, about 12 years ago. Im on my 3rd pair, and i was hard on boots, not construction/welder hard, but my current everday wear is a pair of pull ons, (6 years old and i had them resoled last year.) $375 for the boots, but only $120 for new vibram soles.
I too have the same boot but in Brown. I wear them everyday I’m on the bike and walking around off the bike. Love these boots. Had mine a year and still wear them daily.
Hey Monkey, I have worn Caterpillar work boots for 25 years and love them. Platonic of course. There has never been a "break in period", I wear them all day from day one. In all these years I have only had problems with one pair, I contacted them and boom they sent a new pair. Love your stuff.
Brunt boots have become my new favorite. Have a pair of the composite toes for work and a regular pair for riding. They are extremely comfy and little to no break in. Great boots for the price.
Yeah I do British Docs too. 16 hole. Cover the ankle, leather, somewhat weatherproof, not super heavy, chemical proof sole and comfy once broke in. Been through a coupla sets of Alpine Stars over the years too.
I have these boots. Not a fan of the soles. Not as grippy as others. I recently bought Indy Ridge. So far great boots. And the customer service is awesome!
The boots I wear depend on what I’m doing. Being an LEO out west, I wore Danners, they’re tanks when it comes to working in rough terrain. When I ride I prefer a cowboy type boot. I’m wearing a pair of Ariat work boots now and I really like them.
I wear HD Riddick which I have had for 5 years and rode 50,000 miles with them and absolutely luv them. One zip has just given up and the boot is for repair now rather than pay $200 for a new pair. I can wear these all day walking around and don't even know I have them on.
I rock Ariat steel toe, waterproof work boots. 99 bucks, great tread depth, take a beating, comfortable, non-slip. Over 10k miles on this set and lots of life left
I wear the same boot in brown literally every day. They have held up well and are good on the bike. My only complaint is that they could be more comfortable when standing for long periods. They aren’t terrible, just could be more comfortable. I’ve had them close to a year and they are holding up well.
I have the same boot and I love them. Have them for o Ed a year. Actually wore them at Sturgis 2022 when I met you. I have about 7,000 miles on them and plenty more to go.
I wear Red Wings though they are REALLY heavy due to a steel toe. I go to tactical boots and get them from 5.11. Zipper side, comfortable as Hell too. A right reinforcement seems redundant. The Enforcer police tactical boot is another designed for being on your feet all day.
I have the same boots in Brown and Black and have had them for a couple of years. My only complaint is that the soles are really slippery. Otherwise they are super comfortable!
I bought Harley’s Steinman riding shoes as a backup pair for my Sturgis trip in 21 and they wore so well they became my primary footwear over my riding boots. I think they were well worth the cost.
I use to get Carolinas. I did get a pair of harley boots about a year ago... absolutely love them. Still in great shape. Comfy and has a zipper on the side so easy to put on and not too heavy
I’ve had 2 pair of them brown and black, love them. The only complaint is sole on black top is slippery and especially if you add rain and stop at a red light or stop sign, not much grip on the bottom of the sole. White sole needs to be black because they turn dingy yellow in a short time. Super comfy and look great other than those 2 small complaints.
I'm the same on sticking with what you are into. Gotta feel for the Mrs sometimes when she's searching to find like for like to replace older stuff that I don't want to find a new style/etc. Had a pair of Harley Davidson Bateman's sneaker like boots I loved with ankle protection & the new ones are a different style. Just found some at HOH now that they needed replaced in the same style and I was excited that my same new boots were available for purchase to the point that I think the apparel ladies were a bit scared 😀
Forma knee high dirt bike boots. I ride down into the 30’s and sometimes get caught in rain. They take good beating and are fairly comfortable to walk around in. They look like something you’d see on mad max
I have the same ones for a year already , they are very light , love the zipper , and very comfortable. I paid 90 for them on sale, I Should buy the black one also.
For the 1st time in my riding life I decided to go with a riding sneaker, and I love it. Comfy on and off the bike. Look good. Ankle support is there. Side zipper is there. Yes, toe patch on both sides. Never thought about it but I guess it is pointless on the right. Borleni is the brand. Italian but made in China of course. Have held up for a year and still riding them. I like.
Merrell Moab. I love them. I have a pair of HD western style, that are close to 20 years old that I wear when riding long distance. In fact, finally needed new soles and heels. Put them in the shop for repairs last week.
Been wearing the same boots for a year now, got lucky a found them on sale at like $120 or something... Good fit, have lasted and worn well. Found the sole will turn whatever color was the last thing you stepped in, and has thinned out a bit. Same dislikes as you, worried about zipper (no problems yet), hate the HD logos which initially kept me from purchasing but I only see them when I put them on. Dixon shirts rock, the bamboo long sleeves even work here in Texas....
I Bought My Harley Davidson Hagerman Boots The Same Ones You have.I Have had Mine Resoled Twice 2 Years and LOVE'EM. But My Dealership Quit Selling Them.
Hey Monkey, it's my understanding that most,if not all H-D boots are actually made by Wolverine. Hence the awesome quality. I've been wearing Wolverine since I was twelve. Thanks for the infotainment.
I have a pair of these and after owning them for 6 months I started wearing them to work. I do concrete construction and surprisingly they held up for another 6 months. Quality and comfortable
Maybe try Doc Bayleys black leather dye on the boots to bring back that original black look when new,They usually have a stand at the Harley dealer on exit 55 during the rally ..I have bought some there in the past..Have a great Sturgis trip and you and the wife stay safe.
If your zip pull ever breaks, it's really easy to replace it with a small split ring and a piece of paracord or light chain or whatever - I routinely do this on jackets and jeans. Never had to do it on boots yet, but I can't see why it would be a problem.
Get some Indie Ridge and you will never buy any others. Take it from a old cat that has had all kinds of riding boots. I wear my Indie Ridge everyday. Not heavy and are so comfortable. Papa P.
Danner Bull run ,black and white moc toe, most comfortable long lasting WIDE boot I have found, and they resole them once the sole gets down so they last forever
Red Back boots out of Australia are awesome. The most comfortable boots if ever worn. Don’t like boots because I have high arches. I cooked for 19 years and these were the best footwear I’ve ever worn in the kitchen. I rode with those boots too. Paid $180 and they lasted me 5 years before they finally blow a hole out on the side.
I have always been a Wolverine boot guy. I used to work outside constructing in the dirt and they where comfortable and would last. I bought a pair of Georgia boots about a year ago and they where comfortable straight out of the box.... i also should.say i buy quality. I dont have a problem with dropping $400, $500 or even $600 on a good pair of boots. They can be resouled and ive have boots last me 8-10 years.
I wear Caroline and thorogood boots I wear the tall ones with the wedge sole which is way those Harley boots are comfortable is because they are meant for concrete which is what you stand on majority of the time. And the thorogood boots come with a waterproof membrane in the boot which would probably be good for especially in when it rains or you could wear a pair of pull on boots as well
I have a pair of Timberland boots that are awesome. They are about 15 years old and the leather has gone from black to gray with the sun fade. Waterproof and comfortable.
I think I started with Milwaukee boots - but last several have all been Harley boots. Love them. I have one that zips on the side, so I never have to tie laces again.
I don’t wear boots, I mostly wear Chuck T’s and Vans. Last year I bought a pair of Vans MTE’s. I think they were made for hiking? I’ve found they’re great for riding. They’ve lasted over a year now. Just something different.
Timberland Pro 8inch Endurance ,st sp wp, style 095567. Including tax is $182.72. They are waterproof, rubber reinforced toe, safety shoes with a electric rating, insulated and super comfortable to wear for a12 hour workday in the desert or powerplant environment. Only took 50 years to find them and for the last 11 years to finally enjoy a great quality work boot that last.
For boots I run either Ariat work boots(cowboy style) or my wedge sole Thorogood boots. I’m a construction superintendent, so I typically only wear boots.
I wear Timberland pro with a composite toe and they are waterproof...and I was told that at one time by my local Motorclothes Manager Wolverine makes Harley boots..
Best food of choice the Red Wing Moc Toe black with a white sole I have 15000 miles on those few times to Sturgis last year tons of rain still look brand new
I have 3 pair of HD boots and they are great ! I have 1 pair of high top sneaker/boots and 2 boots. And I love the logo - sorry but I think it's great. I also love the zippers - never had one break. Also - if you want to refresh them - take them to a shoe repair place and have them polished. They will literally look brand new
I have had a set of those boots since Christmas of 2020 I only wear them on my long rides they are made by wolverine work boots. Still holding up really well probably have 15,000 miles on em plus a good amount of just wearing the around.
My riding boots are Double H Barry harness boots, I like the taller heel because I'm somewhat vertically challenged. I have many wet rides in them but I spray them with a water repellent every spring and have never had wet feet. I also have a cheaper knock off of the same boot as a backup. For work, Ariat pull on wellington style and recently a pair of Irish Setter work boots. The Irish Setters are very comfortable.
For decades I've been wearing Red Wing model 1426 boots. For some reason they discontinued that model. Now I wear Red Wing model 2416 which is basically the same boot as the 1426, but with a safety toe. Yes, they're not cheap, but they last a long time. I had my 1426 resoled 3 times before the tops finally wore out.
I’ve been wearing red wings and have lasted me the last almost 5 years now and are worn, really the soles & insoles wore way out. Most comfortable boot I’ve ever had. Keens are good but have a face only their mother could love. They don’t last as long as redwings, I’m real hard on boots as well, which is why I’ve so impressed with RW’s. Been looking for a good boot, thanks.
@@franmonaghan57 thank man, I have buddies that have resoled their boots 2-3 times before getting a replacement. Definitely the best part about red wing, I’ve been too lazy wait for them to resole ‘em. Takes about a week or two without your boots for the process. Might get a new pair and resole the old though.
I bought a pair of Haggermans around Christmas time and love them. Wear almost daily. They are more comfortable than the Wolverines I usually wear. They seem to be wearing very well. Would buy them again. Thanks for the review 👍
I haven't been able to try Harley boots because they don't make them big enough, they top out at 13 and I wear a 14, it's incredibly difficult finding riding boots in 14, especially when you also have a high arch 🤣
I have Harley's Altman Western classic boots they aren't very inexpensive maybe 120 I think I paid they are damn comfortable. Those zippers nothing to tie just a nice boot that is waterproof and it's comfortable too wander around Sturgis all day
I've tried a few of these "wedge" sole boots. One thing they all seem to suffer from is poor traction when it rains. Stop at a light and your foot slips to the side. That's always fun. They are softer and more comfortable though. I suppose that's the point.
Love Docs. I did get a pair of HD similar to these. No Hood Ornament, but there is a plate inside that area. I have been quite happy with them on and off the bike.
I have a pair of HD Hustin waterproof boots I picked up on sale a few years ago. They have probably 20k riding miles and get worn frequently just walking around because they are so comfortable. FYI many of the HD boots are made by Wolverine.
Majority of my riding is done to and from work, so I'm usually wearing my rocky alpha or 5.11 boots when riding just what I'm comfy in and needs for work. If it's a weekend I have a pair of 5.11 sneakers wirh a hard shank in them that I like riding in.
I had a 1973 XLH where the shifter was on the right side and brake on the right so maybe they have the shift pad on the boot for the older bikes. I believe 73 was the last year for that
I love the H.D. Richfield boot water prooof. These are the most comfortable boots straight out of the box I have ever had in over 50 years of riding. How much more can I say!
I'd say the Harley emblem on the ankle of the boot might be more of a slider/ankle protector than a hood ornament, but I get it lol. I also wear Doc's while riding. For work I do have a pair of redwings work gives vouchers for. They're more comfortable when you're on your feet all day. But for riding, doc martens are okay, mine seem slippery in intersections though.
Thanks for sharing, I love my similar HD ankle boots with a side zipper. I have had them for years. I must say Mugsy jeans are my go to jeans. They stretch a bit for us big guys! And a great value.
Wolverines are what I wear, bought a pair a little over two years ago to work and ride in and they are still holding up great, only issue I had is having to up a half a size because my feet are just to dame fat.
I’ve worn docs for years but been wearing my hd boots the ones I have are very comfortable. Wore them the whole time in sturgis and feet and back and feet didn’t hurt. Beat the hell up but they are still good
I got the Hagermans too, had them 8 months and put 10,000 miles on them. They're comfortable to wear everyday and are holding up good. Found em for $100 at a Harley dealer in Wisconsin.
You stole those!
I’ve had dozens of pairs of HD boots. Always hated the weight of them and the soles are not grippy enough for me. Always take them off the first opportunity I get. Indie Ridge they are great!!!
Indie Ridge boots. I have four pairs now since getting my first pair a couple months ago. Best actual riding boots that don’t looks goofy by a mile!
Indie ridge.....great boots
I've got two colors. Hagermans. Couple years old. Wearing well. Don't beat them like you do. Outsole wears quicker than I'd like.
Indie Ridge all day for boots. Love them, got a second pair just to have a different color. Can stand and walk around them all day and are riding boots...go figure. If it was warmer here would get the ventilated boots as well.

Lots of harleys boots are made by wolverin. Some are stamped on the bottom. Some are made by other co.
@@roadglidehoss Interesting, I didn't know that!

I bought the exact same boots a couple months ago and I love em. I stopped wearing my Indie Ridges because these are better.
I’ve got the brown version of these boots. I’ve had em for about 3 years and 20000 miles. Love em.

Merrell Moab. I love them.
I have a pair of HD western style, that are close to 20 years old that I wear when riding long distance. In fact, finally needed new soles and heels. Put them in the shop for repairs last week.

On Some older Harleys the shifter was on right side.
Yup, I put that in text in the video, but that's not been since the 70s.
My husband wears the Harley Scout Boot it has a zipper low cut also He said they are very confortable and wears them all the time.

Danner Bull run ,black and white moc toe, most comfortable long lasting WIDE boot I have found, and they resole them once the sole gets down so they last forever

I think I started with Milwaukee boots - but last several have all been Harley boots. Love them. I have one that zips on the side, so I never have to tie laces again.
I wear 8" Georgia Boots and love them! I'm on my 3rd pair since I started wearing them over 10 years ago. That's how long they last 👍
I don’t wear boots, I mostly wear Chuck T’s and Vans. Last year I bought a pair of Vans MTE’s. I think they were made for hiking? I’ve found they’re great for riding. They’ve lasted over a year now. Just something different.
I agree on the boots. I own the brown ones and think they are very comfortable and well worth the money.
TCX boots really fit me well. Newest pair look a lot like your Harley boots.
You would need a pad on the right for older sportster that do have the shifter on the right
I still have my HD boots from two years ago and I keep going to them as they fit me really well.
I had the same pair from Harley. 2 years in. Very comfortable when you get off the bike, that’s why I bought em.
For boots I run either Ariat work boots(cowboy style) or my wedge sole Thorogood boots. I’m a construction superintendent, so I typically only wear boots.
Indie Ridge boots and gloves.
My favorites are Thorogood for riding and work... plus Thorogood will recondition boots once they are wore out for half the price of a new pair..
I think most HD boots are Wolverine or Milwaukee.
My other Ole Man has a pair and loves them. He wears them even in the rain and has no problems with them.
I have a pair of Harley double zips (discontinued) and they’ve held up well except the coating peeling off the collars
You can send the redwings back and get resoled
@@franmonaghan57 thank man, I have buddies that have resoled their boots 2-3 times before getting a replacement. Definitely the best part about red wing, I’ve been too lazy wait for them to resole ‘em. Takes about a week or two without your boots for the process. Might get a new pair and resole the old though.
I bought a pair of Haggermans around Christmas time and love them. Wear almost daily. They are more comfortable than the Wolverines I usually wear. They seem to be wearing very well. Would buy them again. Thanks for the review 👍
Right on
Just got a pair in brown a month ago and I love them, they are very comfortable 👍
💯 on wrangler jeans. I have bought the Harley jeans when their on sale for $39 not to bad either.
My boot is the Harley Davidson logger style that lace up then zip on the side I started wearing them in the 90s while riding then worked in them also.
Thanks for sharing, I love my similar HD ankle boots with a side zipper. I have had them for years.
I must say Mugsy jeans are my go to jeans. They stretch a bit for us big guys! And a great value.
I'm gonna go check them out. Thanks for sending the link!
Wolverines are what I wear, bought a pair a little over two years ago to work and ride in and they are still holding up great, only issue I had is having to up a half a size because my feet are just to dame fat.
I have 2 pairs of the HD riding boots and 1 pair of thier regular boots, Love them.
I have the brown ones, about 3 years now. The only complaint is the zipper pulls. Both broke within a year. Used small keyrings and still able to use.
That’s a great old trick. I should have mentioned that in the video.
I’ve worn docs for years but been wearing my hd boots the ones I have are very comfortable. Wore them the whole time in sturgis and feet and back and feet didn’t hurt. Beat the hell up but they are still good
