I just watched a video once on how ice skates work (which is actually super cool. They hydroplane!) But it never mentioned sharpening so now my mind is blown! Either Ryan is an idiot (which I doubt) or a video entirely about how skates work left out a major part! Haha wtf!

Yesterday, I rode all day in temps from 32 to 56 wearing only a cotton t-shirt, mesh riding jacket and Frogg Toggs as the outer layer. Since I carry the rain gear anyway and it packs a little bulky, I just use it also as part of my cold weather kit.

Before you reapply ANY DWR, you should CLEAN your waterproof / breathable gear with an approved cleaner, e.g. Nikwax, Granger, etc. Dirty, oily gear is just as bad as gear with a worn-off DWR.
You're more likely to "get wet" from sweating too much underneath any waterproof, breathable laminate, especially if humidity is high (these laminates need a temperature/humidity gradient to work effectively). These aren't loose weave linen shirts.

I haven’t read the comments so apologies if this is a repeat. As far as I know “Rainx”, or rather the method, was originally designed for aircraft in the 1950’s ish. Because wipers can’t work on an aircraft, the design of a coating on glass that sheds water was the best idea to move water out of the way of pilots vision so they could land and take off safe n sound. Search online for patents and it will pop up. Just FYI

Awesome again 😄 And I’m so glad you came down at the end with my “emergency grab and ride” FrogTogg solution! Cheap waterproofing keeps me riding when my planning and foresight suuuuucks. 👍🏼

Holy Smokes! That’s one of the FUNNIEST (literally laugh out loud moments!) Man vs Wild parodies I’ve ever seen in my lifetime! You, sir, have some SERIOUS tongue-in-cheek writing and video production skills! So impressed. Gotta love those wacky Canadians, eh?

Man - I hope you are being appreciated over there at FortNine. I've been watching your videos all morning for things I don't even need to know just to see your level of creativity, humour, directing and producing. The work you guys do on these videos is fantastic. Your humour is well placed, message well delivered, puns are out of this world and the video shots and editing are all great too. Kick ass. Keep making more!

Did u miss out shoes for wet weather? All these layers may work for Canadian wet weather, but in the tropics it would make you rain more inside than outside. Any suggestions for hot weather climate?

I'm in the tropics. All these layers would cook me from the inside! I use Frogg Toggs pants and jacket, TCX Street Ace waterproof boots and I totally don't care about keeping my gloves dry. It actually feels nice to keep them a bit damp and cool because you're going to be a bit warm with the waterproof layer

That's what I love most about it, I have the most layers of protection on and am usually nice and toasty warm while witnessing the shit storm around me. Feeling safe in an otherwise unsafe place is a nice feeling.
Edit: also stoked to see you feature the Tdub near the end!

I rode for 17 years year round before I finally got my class 5 car license and I am DONE with riding in the rain. Having said that I plan to get some Rainex for my visor and Frog Togs for emergencies. Great vid and good on you and crew for doing it in an actual rain forest.

is quite relaxing earing the rain in the helmet, just enjoying the ride...all the little details, the smell and all that stuff, i laugh every time ii see one of those "last ride of the season" comments, the joy and feel that you get reaching destination after a 8 hour trip that has been raining and cold(it was between -2º and 5º) is just sooooo satisfying, i just ride a jacket that the dealer gifted me when i purchased my old 1999 sv650s with 3 layters of termic (not even 30€ for all 3) some leggings, snowboard socks and 30€ bike pants that i got on a 2nd hand store and winter gloves with under gloves to help, easy and cheap, also for rain i use a 6€ working rain gear, stops the wind and protects from rain
