You don't need the eye bolts as tie down points. The slots are designed for the hook on tie down straps. Those eye bolts will be something to get your foot caught on while loading or unloading the bike.

On my Blackwidow I only installed the two front eyelets, I left the others off for that reason. If I need the back ones then I will just mount them on once I get the bike up on the table, and then remove them before I take the bike off the lift.

I see a few comments suggesting that you should have not added the side panels and suggesting ways of having the extra panels when you’re loading or unloading the bike from the lift.
I wish to offer you a different potential solution, go get about 6 heavy duty(3 for each side) hinges that can be mounted between your wing panels and the lift itself.
As you raise the lift, they can drop out of the way and they’re still there if you want the extra space to hold tools, of course you will also need a latching mechanism so that you can lock the wing panels in their “opened” position.
You can figure out how you want to do that, but you already have those panels so you might as well use them.

The side wings can get in the way, not letting you get close. Also, they take up valuble floor space when down. An alternitive is 2X12 wood planks from lumber yard, nail 4X4, or 2X4s under it to bring it up to elevation of the lift. Just lay them on the floor next to the lift. They can be moved out of the way when the lift is up. When not using lift, they can be stored on end anywhere, or on thier side next to the lift.

That’s why I got my lift (HF), and it is the best investment I’ve made for the bike. Make sure you get a good wheel chock. I put a ‘05 and ‘17 RK on mine, and it has drastically changed the way I work on the bikes. And invest in the scissor lift. Great for adjusting belt if required to lift rear wheel, and eases wheel removal. I use it on the bike lift all the time. Just remember to adjust your straps according ly.

I bought my BW a little over 4 yrs ago, I love it. here are a few mods or add on's I did to mine, 1. I bought the side extensions, you can make some some like PM did but I can put a 3 wheeler up there if I want to, and they are easily removeable. 2. I got rid of the junky wheel chock and installed a condor wheel chock, I can break the wheel chock down to remove the front tire easier. 3. I installed additional non-slip tape on the ramp for my feet and back tire to grab a little better. The one mod I am still looking into is the foot controller on the BWs suck, I will look at adding springs so I can find center easier or buy a better aftermarket one.

You are going to love it. I bought the Blackwidow 1500lb one about 4 yrs ago, I love it, I wish I would have done it yrs before , I will say this I do wish it would go up a little more, like the Handys do, I did make a piece I can put on the rungs for the safety bar to get it up a little higher. I also purchased the extended ramp because my 14 sgs would scrape on the bottom and I also bought the side extensions, love both of those add on's. I also removed the junk wheel clamp and installed a condor wheel chock so I can break down the chock if I need to remove the front tire, this also allows me to dock the bike and get off of it and strap it down.

All of this, what I did. I also bought mine from 'Direct Lift' and paid $1500 for it ten years ago. Bought a Discount Ramps 1500 lbs, with every option they had for $1600 ish on sale 6 years ago for my CVO Road Glide Ultra Limited. LOVE IT! Now I use it for my trike.
Here is a suggestion for you. Take off the crank chuck and mount a Commander Wheel Chuck. You'll be able to ride your bike up and into the chuck and get off without ever having to worry about it tipping over. You won't have to strap it down either, even while working on it up or down. It grabs the bike so we'll that I can shake the crap out of it and it won't tip over. If you want more, than just put the jack under it, touch the frame and you'll have 3 points of contact. It ain't going anywhere.
You can remove it easily if needed. 1 finger screw and it slides off of the locking bracket. Now that I have a trike, all I do is remove the tire catch tray and use the back stop since I don't have to worry about tipping any more. Makes things SO much easier. You'll thank me later!

You should've just bought the handy lift extensions they aren't that much more money. I advise you to install some skateboard tape on the ramp itself so when you are pulling the bike up onto it the back tire wont spin. Also make sure you let all the air out of the cylinder after you get your lift to your desired location.

    Excellent excellent Christmas present
I know you don’t like the harbor freight ones, but I actually have one and me well my buddies have gotten their moneys worth out of it … I guess you could say I’ve gotten my moneys worth out of it too, and it is easier to clean the bike what I do feel like doing it…
You and your family have a safe and happy new year. See you on the next one.

I roll mine on under its own power with me off the bike and into the wheel chock. The wheel chock is everything and condor is the best I've found. I put the chock on a harbor freight lift and all in im still around 700 bucks. Been used every single day for 3 years and when my house flooded twice in 3 months. My bike was on the lift up in the air in 22 inches of water. No need for side steps etc. This keeps it narrow when the bike is on there. No need to push it or ride it on. Simply use the motor while walking to roll it into the chock.

My harbor freight lift work for two years with light use but one day I jacked the bike up and it never came back down again. I got me a redline lift now and no problems at all.

If you're going to change the front wheel or do any work on that you put the bike on backwoods, secure it with the straps and you put the lift underneath the frame just like you have it, lift it up. take out the dropout space, then you can take your wheel off is very simple😊

Its easier for the front tire swap on the lift for me. Dealers/ shops do it all the time that way. Put the bike in first gear, strap the bike solid @ the back, raise the front slowy losening the front straps as you go up. Easy peasy.
Aa far as the harbor freight lift, change the clamp and its totally fine. Ive used it for years. My shovel was on it but now i have my sportster chopper project on it now

Im saving up for an IDEAL lift. Only thing made for UTV/trikes that is over 55 inches wide and 110 inches long. Wifes VTX 1800 trike is long. With all the extensions and extras its closer to 5 grand. We've got a dozen trikes in our family group that need it tho. Big game changer for us big boys!!! 6'2 320. lol

Enjoying the progress on the 24th Street Glide. Have the exact same bike and I'm considering upgrading the handlebars. Curious what your thoughts are on 12 inch versus 14. Is selecting the handlebar height 100% aesthetics or is it comfort?… Thanks for what you do. I'm enjoying your videos.

I purchased a handy lift with the table extensions and the vise. All high quality, I didn't want to trust a $45k bike to Chinese slave labor welds. By the way, the oval slots in the table are for your straps. I will never regret the investment and support American labor and products.

No disrespect, my bike in my profile picture, was built on a harbor freight lift, when used correctly, there is absolutely no wobble from the lift, and Amazon jack, the jack needs added grease and things need to be inspected and tightened. Also added removable side steps 👌much more comfortable, it’s to bad these lifts don’t come with a factory removable side steps.

So I am a motorcycle tech and we have the K&L lifts. I have the same problem of being short and stubby so getting bikes on and off the lift can get interesting. Tho with a lot of the big bike I just start the bike up, stand to the side and slip the clutch a bit and walk the bike up. Tho I have a lot of practice so it is no too bad. Also getting stuck in traffic all the time I'm getting real good at slow race, that is how I have developed good clutch control.

As long as your bike runs, you don’t need to push the motorcycle on, start your bike, stand next to it and use the engine power to drive the motorcycle on the lift while you walk next to it, it’s how I load my road glide every time
    P.s it’s a harbor freight lift, lol
