Not that hard. The speed only goes so fast till a point then it's like play a new game at level 1 speed. Even though you'd be on level 267, it's really LVL 67. At the max speed, you can not and must not blink very often. My eyes looked like I smoked a pound of weed after 6 hours. Never again. Will I do that hahaha. I'm 40 now, blind enough from the nlol
I used to play this game with my grandmother. It was the only game that she mastered. She once got to level 75 and her reflexes were super sharp. However i spent months playing this and eventually got to level 217 after playing for 8 hours straight. They were some of the best memories i had with her. R.I.P. Nanna ❤❤
I was born in 2001 This, Ecco, and Ristar are some of my earliest memories of video games. I think because of this, I tend to enjoy “older” games more. Like Morrowind, Spyro, Sonic and so on. Maybe I’m biased, but not all Zoomers are mindless creatures.
I was born in 2000, but I definitely remember this game as a kid. Idk how but I owned a Sega Smash Pack for PC and on there I used to play this, vectorman, altered beast, sonic spinball, outrun, omg I miss this time
The only reason I remember this game was because when I had a sega genesis as a kid, me and my brothers just got a bunch of games from a flea market and this one was one of them and apparantly my mom loved to play this game. She is by no means a gamer but this was the one game she played alot back in the day.
I had a minu Sega Genesis that came with 6 preloaded games and this was one of them. As a kid my dad and I used to play this one and see who could get a higher score. Seems like forever ago. I was maybe only 6 or 7 then. I'm 18 now. I grew up with these kind of games. I haven't played them in years but I still have them lying around and it would be nice to start playing them again. This brought back memories
I played this a lot in 2012/2013 and hearing these sounds just brings back the memories (I was born in 08, I played on a PS2 using the Sega Classic Collections disk). This, outrun, golden axe, and Bonanza bros + taunted formed my original love for gaming.
@@bobjohnson1096 I would assume so. Ivr never actually had the chance to go to a real arcade, like one from the 80s and 90s, the last one in (my city) was closed down about a year after I was born.
I remember playing this when I was 6. My brain couldn't comprehend what was even happening at the time, but something about that old Genesis midi is nostalgic...
I used to play this game with my mother, this was the only video game that we ever played together, back when I was just a little kid, now I am as old as she was back then, she's been gone for 12 years now, I really miss her
I'm not as old as the people in the comments (I'm still a teen) But I used to play on a sega genesis when I was like 7. I loved playing the sonic games, the streets of rage games, eternal champions, street fighter, alex kid, golden ax, the list goes on lol. Seeing all of these games again and playing them again makes me feel at peace with this hell of life. And your videos also cheer me up (Bc I suck at playing games but after finding this channel I got wayyy better)
I still remember hitting 1000. Stayed up all day all night playing. Parents bought the game when it came out and did not say a word for over 24 hours. They were very strict and saw that i was "winning" so they watched and let me be... many losses but managed to hit 1000 then stopped. I dont even know if you can "win" any confirmations? Havent remembered this since my dad and mum mentioned it just now from their point of view watching it haha. Miss those old memories :(
For anyone who has the nintendo swithc online and misses this game.... It's on there! Ok, not quite as good as it was on the mega drive in terms of nostalgia, but definitely worth having a go on.
I'm probably better at Tetris today than Columns but I really like Columns more as it is simple yet just as challenging to become a master at the game.
My primary school teacher had a plug n play Mega Drive and I used to always play Sonic and Alex Kidd but I was the ONLY kid who would play this as my Dad bought me one a few years before hand and we used to play it.
I remember firsr playing this at my friends house circa 1990/91. When I got the game myself my Mom got pissed off at me for being on the game for so long that I scored 1 million points (which was a lot for me!)
I remember bought my sega genesis from a fingerhut catalog and it came with this game and that’s all my sister and me would play until we found sonic hahahaha
Never could play this game this well! You're a master!
nay, he is a God
Altered beast fuck off I can't even handle it, I watched this guy and leveled up ten times
Same, I could hardly reach lv 5 😂
Gold medallist🥇

Best nana ever.
I swear that soundtrack brings back tons of memories.
This music was guaranteed to improve focus. I was addicted as a kid.
I felt like I was hypnotized playing it!
Forget candy crush or bejeweled! This is a classic!!!
The object is different though.
Bejeweled is still cool, but I love this game a lot
So nostalgic....I miss sitting in my mom's room on the bed watching her play this.

My mom once beat me so bad at this game I cried Haha tough love
Me too

This music is so good! It takes me back to 1998 in my bedroom playing this for hours! I need to play this now haha.
i was a master at this game back in the day . and i love the music on this one as well
Whoever made this beat must have been bopping their head in the studio cooking up this fire 🔥🔥
something i love about Columns is that it doesn't punish you for being impulsive.
and that's primarily because it can't be, for better or for worse.
damn you just brung back some memories, I remember Friday nights up all night gaming and this and sonic was the games I played
Sonic, Columns, The Lion King, Aladdin... some of my favorite games when I was little! :^)
Sonic, Rambo 3, Columns, Arnold Palmer Tournament Golf, Golden Axe and Space Harrier 2 on Friday nights for me.
Lodi Dodi same
Same with ne lodi dodi
I would play this Sonic, Sonic 3, and double dragon on my megadrive back in 1994 😂
This is the music of the angels.
I was born in 2000, but I definitely remember this game as a kid. Idk how but I owned a Sega Smash Pack for PC and on there I used to play this, vectorman, altered beast, sonic spinball, outrun, omg I miss this time
I had this as part of a Sega 6 pack. Man I wish I knew where my Genesis was
How have I been watching this for 11 minutes straight jesus christ
Ryan Keller ikr also how tf does it go for almost 2 hours???
The game didnt kill him he ended it himself that is the true show of skill in this video
GREAT game! We used to play it after the pub, and when mashed I went into a sort of trance and became unbeatable at it!
Love the part where he matches the jewels.
Who needs Candy Crush and you got this game right here Columns a fantastic Classic game from the 1990s.
Candy Crush sux and it just want your money every time you fail, even as far as deliberately adding bugs.
@@r.a.6459 I agree with you man Candy Crush sucks ass

WF Kuzhara me too. During the 90s, lol.
Completely forgot this game existed. The sound effects bring me back to a better time
This is awesome play. I totally sucked at this game as a child, but watching this had me on edge all the way through! Very nice :)
The music is almost haunting with how nostalgic it is, growing up with the sega mega drive, this with ecco the dolphin and sonic, great memories
"Columns", "Block out" and "Zoop" are favourite logic games of sega
I remember playing this game quite a bit as a kid. I will say that boy is the music quite mesmerizing, I will admit.
I love a good ole trip down memory lane😌🙌
ohh the nostalgia :)
thanks for the vid man, i appreciate it
An old classic
Sega did a great job in making so many fun games besides SNES and MSX, this one's a charm for me and I'm happy to see it again
Just here for the music :)
Oh my god, finally remember this game. I used to play this game with my mom back then. Good old days
The music and hours of gameplay... what great memories.

the producer who made the music had a good time with this soundtrack
i remember playing this game as a little kid in the 90s. such a copy of tetris but different enough to be its own thing
Good job. Insane gameplay. 😊👍
Can’t wait till this comes to PS4. The nostalgia is gonna hit me in the face

I'll bet it was near impossible to score 26.3 million points in Columns back in the 1990s.

Amazing!
This reminds me my mom, she was addicted to this game! (And yes, today she's addicted in Candy Crush as well) kkkkkk.
My mom too plays this, although it's on PC Engine, not Genesis. She plays Bejeweled 3 and never touched Candy Crush at all.
An absolute classic game
This game and music very soothing
My friend you are the master!
played this when I was maybe 6 or so ever since I've been hooked, although I play tetris these days it definitely paved a path for me

Wow, and I was proud of myself for getting to level 37 on hard.
I got myself to level 130+ way back in 2003. Wow I'm so proud then. This guy can play for 10 hours without dying, maxing out every stat possible.

Columns and Bust-A-Move created future Candy Crush addicts
Columns is actually a variation of Tetris, because it’s played in a similar manner.
It's actually more closer to Puyo Puyo which is a puzzle game similar to Tetris
Increíble!!
As a genz, I can definitley say 1980's-1990's games hit different
some kind of Columns god!
I played this game when it cameout. Still got it too. I clocked it 3 times in one sitting. I was a god at this game.
You are a legend bro wow

I remember I was geeked when I get a level of this
You're pretty good!
Very good
When I first had a mega drive we only had a old black and white TV as a second TV to use. So this was an even hard game lol
Holy crap!
I beat this game 100% when I was a kid.
It was very unexpected.. odd numbers and that.
