I knew this from a Sonic game collection on the GameCube and I’m in my early twenties, I knew these games since I was 7 and never left that mindset. If I could play with someone, I’ll be the happiest person. My childhood would be healed
If i never played Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection I would've never got so much memories from when I was in the second grade and never know how pros avoided the tiger
I just discovered that the Sega Compilation game I bought for the PS3 a few years ago had this game which I never played before. In spite of feeling out of place with the more "modern" Genesis games, I got hooked on it.
While Flicky did end up being a Sonic character ever since 1991, the game Flicky came out way before the Sonic series existed. Flicky debuted in 1984 for the Arcade. It's ported in the Genesis in 1991.
Atleast they revived this game on the mega collection for GameCube. I didn’t really play this game, but now that I have played it I would like to play this game (I play it on android cus I don’t have a game cube)
Update about playing Flicky: I have a sega genesis emulator (GenPlusDroid) and now can play Flicky any time I want! (Also thanks iPlay Retro for the like)
This game is actually a port of an arcade game that came out all the way back in 1984. Therefore, Flicky predates the Sonic series. Flickies were added in Sonic as a homage to Sega's old days in the arcade

Flicky was kind of SEGA Mascot, appearing in many games as cameo until Sonic's rise. She is also the only video game character I know that has been totally integrated in a other game universe before its release. Two years before Flicky, there was Pengo but he was quickly replaced.

I'm really mad that saying I didn't continue their consoles after 99 it would be really cool to see them develop a last 1999 was their last year and their last show was to support it and to promote it and that show was awesome
I didn't know they made Flicky for Sega Genesis. I think the only reason the graphics aren't closer to the original arcade version is that the Sega System 1 had more video memory.
2022 teaching my almost 3 year old son how to play video games the retro way. Once I get updated phone let him enjoy game boy emulators. Instead of raising our children on the modern stuff start them backwards the way that we did so that way they appreciate the games and when we say they are expensive you can have just as much fun playing these games as you did back then
Got hyped when they released it with rewind feature and save states, and thought to myself, finally I can beat it... only to realize it's a score game that has no ending and lasts forever 😂
Is anyone able to help me remember a game? I can't remember if it was a part of Flicky or if it was its own game, but I had a console with many old arcade games, it had this game and I remember there was a bird game where there was a nest in a tree, and you'd fly down to get bugs then bring them back to the nest to feed the babies. It was like the same style as Flicky (I think. Or at least pixelated) and on the same console.
