Man, he spoke so well. No non-sense, straight to the point with humble eloquence. Love the fact that he doesn't dodge any of the interviewer's questions, and answers them readily. Such a different feel compared to mainstream interview shows today.
I was born in 2002. Christopher Reeve will always be the one true Kal-El/Superman, as well as Clark Kent. Maybe one day if things can come together, and people (Warner Brothers) gets their things together and stop trying to modernize and change Superman, then there will be a Superman that has the same sense of realism, charisma, joy and power that we felt when seeing this wonderful man as the Man of Steel. We still believe a man can fly!

@@joshuastroupe1999 actually Reeve's Superman is as much derivation from the Canon as Cavill's Superman
Agreed, as a straight guy I find myself stricken by how handsome he is.. but most of all, a really great and well spoken man. Such a tragedy what happened to him later on.
He Portrayed Superman in the Movies and Helen Slater Portrayed Supergirl from 1984 Movie Spin-off Before Melendy Britt voiced She-Ra in the Secret of the Sword (1985) and Terri Hawkes Voiced Sailor Moon in anime Movies until Brandon Routh return Superman in Superman Returns (2006) with Red Boots and Red Cape
One thing about Chris is he doesn't know how to be deceptive. He is as loyal and friendly as superman himself. I feel like Superman was Chris playing as himself, but with a cape and some boots.
@@truthinspector6390 Yes, he was real, but it was his accident that "did him in". I believe he worked relatively steady up to his accident. The movie Street Smart that he acted in, and I believe wrote/produced, turned out to be a vehicle for Morgan Freeman.
A very special man, and a great loss to the world. That kind of genuine charm is so rare. What a tragic twist of fate that he came off that horse that day. God bless him, wherever his beautiful spirit is now. I truly believe it lives on somewhere, in some form.
I appreciate what he said abut Brando. Not many people, especially actors, would have the courage to say it even though it was obvious at the time that Brando was resting on his laurels. RIP
Christopher Reeve will always be Superman... I grew up loving the Superman movies, had such a crush on him! Also saw the movie " Somewhere in Time" which I really liked
I like how he doesn't belittle the role of Superman or the success it brought him. It shows a humble side, and how he approached the role with thought, sincerity and dedication. It comes through in his performance also.
Reeve seemed like such a down-to-Earth fella. Very cool, and charming. And that bit about Brando was great. He had the guts to tell the truth about Marlon not caring as much as he used to. Most celebs are too busy praising everything Brando touched.
Well... it´s easy to say whatever you want, when your image is on a movie like Superman... knowing you´re desired for something... I had never whatched a Christopher Reeve's interview... and, in this interview, I had an impression of him, as being a very cocky person... I don´t know, it could be just me, maybe I don´t speak enough english hehehe
Reeves was refreshingly honest about Brando. What a gent. You don't see this in Hollywood today. I always thought Brando was an egomaniac when he had to have his name FIRST in the credits in Superman, for only a five minute scene. Reeve should have been first, he was SUPERMAN!

Amazes me that he spoke so honestly about Marlon Brando simply phoning it in. No way ANY actor would speak like that of another -unless it’s Will Smith. Gotta love Christopher’s charm & dignity, a real honest & genteel broker.
You know, it's interesting: Watching some of these old Late Nights, like with Mark Hamill, you see a lot of these actors actually addressing the reality of being typecasted. You didn't see that on a lot of shows.
I thought hamil came off like a jerk though... I don't think he was trying to be at all but he got defensive around that time post jedi...hell no one saw him again until The Guyver ffs! THAT's why he's on every cartoon now and took those disney cheques knowing the movies were crap lol ;)

Amazing!! This never happens in our time.. having an actor tell the truth about another actor.. moat actors always pretend they suport others, even if they dont. Very good Superman..
The one and only real Superman! "You taught the world well" ..too bad they still have a hard time learning. Exactly why he's the best "Superman, he Cared about the character"
Every interview I've seen of Christopher Reeve, he comes across as polite. A few actors from "Superman" found him challenging to work with - according to different sources.
Two things: 1. The man was a classy straight shooter. He was there to make it count and not be plastic, and gosh darn it, he delivered. 2. I saw this on that night!
