Don’t get the appeal, a Mercedes coupe without a 6 or 8 cylinder engine doesn’t do it for me. The AMG C Class has a very heavy 4 pot hybrid setup that killed the dynamics and isn’t fun to drive.

Having owned a CLA, C43 and now an E Class Coupe, I was expecting good things from the CLE. Unfortunately, this is a C Class for E Class money and it doesn’t have full frameless windows like the E Class (has B pillar), it is also longer than the current E class (who asked for that?) and no AMG version (yet). After 11 years driving Mercedes, I will be switching to BMW when my E Class lease expires.
I still love the Mercedes Classic Coupe - nothing beats the C126 design and Merc quality by Bruno Sacco. Relax and drive a classic car with lots of smiles wherever you may roam!

Can anyone tell me WHY Mercedes has decided to put the B-pillar? This is very annoying and even in the previous model we no longer have a full side view (due to the small triangle glass at the back of the window...) I am very disappointed.

I had purchased Mercedes, coupes and convertibles since 2002. Most were picked up under the European Delivery Program in Stuttgart. Every single one of them has had mechanical or electrical problems. My very last Benz was the 2013 SL550 picked up in Germany. After 4 years into it, one of the led light bulb burnt out from the right front light set. The entire light housing had to be replaced with paying of pocket. Then the transmission failed for no reason. I was "blamed" by the dealer for not driving enough of my vehicle as the cause. Not trying to be negative and other people may not suffer the same experience. The vehicle cost me $130,000 before tax. And yes, I have had the 2003 and 2012 E Class Coupe also some problems.

Imo the closing sound of the front doors don‘t sound very solid or like high quality standard. You can hear this cheap door sound at 9:25 in the video. It is also mentioned that the door feels very light, thats not always a positive thing! The Exterieur is quite nice and good looking, but also shown as a high end option standard. How it will look like in the base-line is another question ;) We can hope that Mercedes has learned about the W206 disaster with a cheap looking interieur and it‘s ongoing software problems!
The doors are extremly cheap on every model now since every model got the A-class doors from 2020. Its LITERALLY the same door from A to E-Class. Interior quality went down dramaticly sadly.

Maybe you're right, the pillar B was a little bit bigger, and rear windows couldn't rolling down, could it be for safety and protection ,but it was OK 👌, it still has had a 360 degree of cameras.....Nothing to worry about it...??? It's gorgeous and beautiful new design....😊😊😮😮

I didn't buy the C-Class because the interior and also didn't buy the E-Class because it was to long and biggish, they combined both of the things I don't like together 😂😂
Exhaust tips strictly for looks, with actual tail pipes covered underneath the rear end, and the rear light assembly now indistinguishable from run-of-the-mill other cars, a sure recipe for keeping Merc JD Power and C&R ranking well below Merc's historical average, i.e. "new" and regressively "improved". Hope this trend will show up on the corporate balance sheet to nudge designers back to what worked in the past.
I totally agree and unfortunately they'll use slow sales of this car to say that no one wants coupes anymore. Yes we want coupes but not this forgettable, curvy and somewhat generic design.

I think it's much much prettier than the 4 series, though it probably doesn't drive as well. It deserves to be a convertible.
