@@CraigPerko ya back in 2017 I taught a group of friends how to use RenPy. Even my non programmer sister made a game! Also a lot of fun to collaborate on, my cousin made the story and text for another one and I did the art and I had such a good time.
Most of the decent ones. Some are more constrained by art than others - for example, Phoenix Wright follows these principles but there's not many pieces of bespoke art.
You've opened my eyes to the fact that I can remove the text box and have the players forcus on the visuals instead.
This channel continues to be a treasure trove for learning game devs, good stuff
as someone who has mostly focused on art rather than writing this is a huge help for me
Love your channel ❤ Thank for tips, I’m working on my own VN and it’s very important for me. Thanks for your advice 😊
Glad it's useful!
Why are you so versed in so many different topics? Are you sure you're human and not a robot? Love your videos :)
I'm old!
really love your video man! ! btw what is your drawing software haha , it just looks so smooth
It's an ancient version of clip studio pro. I think any software can do it though, if you have a tablet and set the smoothing to moderate.
I was just talkin' about making another visual novel the other day :o
They're one of the most accessible kinds of game dev!

@@MoosieSingh Yeah, they're my recommended way to get into game dev, too.
great thoughts, agree with you, but you helped me to formulate this! thank you
Any VN's that match your design philosophy?

All the different videos are really helpful. Which makes me wonder if you have a portfolio, or a list of what you worked on?
Nah. I'm from an era of pseudonyms, and I'll keep it that way. I don't mind if you discount my advice. Just assume I'm a rando.
@@CraigPerko bummer.. Although all of them makes intuitive sense to me so I'm still taking it all in!
Your videos are very underrated
