I'm just glad she is actually dead, she is a good character don't get me wrong. But seeing lightsabers actually function the way they are suppose to makes me happy.
@@Skeptic_Tank That's why I actually kind of enjoyed this episode. The choreo and fighting is honestly really good, and well, this episode was like 80% just that. Also tbh Jeckie's death did just slightly turn my stomach and bother me, actually strike me a bit. I was totally expecting it too, but I have to admit I was rooting for her just a little. Helps that her character had a good feel to her, is played by Dafne Keen who is great for choreography(in turn why she perfectly fought using Jar-Kai), and also the fact that she was a much younger character, not so prudent or harsh toward Osha like Yord was, rather taking intrigue. So with those factors in mind, it made it feel at least a little wrong(in a good unsettling way) how suddenly and remorselessly she was killed, seeing as she was a literal child who seemed like the most genuinely good person of the bunch. That's just how it struck me anyway, I understand many others didn't care, but personally it turned my stomach at least a little lol.

Maybe it would have been better if Palpatine was cloaked for it, that way they could have had another actor take his place and not have the cgi head be distracting.
Watching the trailer, I figured either he wasn’t a Sith, or everyone of the Jedi who fought him will die. It took Maul to reveal the existence of the Sith, so there was no way anyone who the Sith revealed to would live to tell their tale.
Look, this show has been awful so far. Especially episode 3. HOWEVER, this episode was dope. The lightsaber fights were so long and so fast. Legit the best live action lightsaber fight choreography we've seen since the Prequels. Even the hand to hand combat between Sol and the Sith was awesome. When the episode started and the good twin woke up (I keep mixing up their names, lol) and then found a body I really thought for a moment they were going to say the whole battle happened off-screen. I'm so glad they didn't.
I will say this Quimir as a sith (possibly maybe it does tell but I feel I wanna know if Quimir is the master or the apprentice) clothing looks similar to the comics of knights of ren ... when ben solo met him .. he has arms showing more on screen and the way he fights is similar in some way.

I'm not too big of a fan of the show, but I got to give them credit. The choreography was excellent, The willingness to kill of two of the "Main Characters" in pretty brutal fashion is pretty cool, subverts expectations of them dying in the finale, and is really ballsy. Of course, pretty much everyone here needs to die for the whole sith revealing themselves in Episode 1 to work. But I think everyone thought they would die at the end, not midway through.
Imagine if this was episode 3 people wouldn’t be complaining as much - still fan fiction but cmon this is some visceral lightsaber combat I’ve wanted in SW
I fully expected most of the Jedi to die, they have not seen a Sith for centuries, this made the entire Order unprepared. More surprising was the ending plot twist, wont spoil.🎉🎉🎉 Well played.
*Ok, so Mae wants her sister to love her again... but knocks her out, leaves her in some deadly forest with a Sith assassin, who wants them both dead, and she takes her identity!!? 😂.* This character is evil! Why are they pretending she isn't!? Lol
Anakin loves Padame thinks the Jedi are evil but chokes her and kills kids. Darksiders be crazy. Also both relationships are takes on toxic love. It's not to say that the Jedi are right in views of attachment but that the love from dark side people is unhealthy and obsessive. Mae had some yandere vibes.
But before that, she was going to turn herself in to Kelnacca and the Jedi. But then wants to fight them again. This show can’t even keep track of its own canon.
@@ericp1139 Okay, with her running away instead of being arrested I slightly get it. She knew he was there and was fairly certain the Jedi would be dead anyway if she handed herself in to them, so she probably just found it better to run rather than put herself in an even easier to kill position for Qimir. As far as it goes, her mind went from "Get arrested where he can never reach me" to "Uh-oh, he's already here to reach me anyway and will probably kill all these people before they can arrest me. Best option is to just run and hope for the best!" since there really isn't much you can do in that situation anymore.
IMO, a very good overall fight sequence - certainly the best live action sequence we've seen on Disney+. While expected, the deaths of the "talking" Jedi were impactful - I'm pleased to see that being skewered by a lightsaber is back to being fatal; hopefully, Filoni takes notice.
I agree that the fight scene was one of the most impressive we’ve got post Disney takeover; the whole thing reminded me of trailers we would see for the Old Republic online game, but at the same time, I’m a little worried. The deaths we saw were in my opinion well executed (no pun intended), but the vast majority of modern Star Wars has proven that Disney doesn’t like letting anyone stay dead. Having said that, maybe we are in a new phase of the Disney era since the Bad Batch finale actually let a character stay dead
Honestly a really impressive episode, but I do have one gripe. Yord's death makes the whole "a Jedi doesn't kill an unarmed opponent" thing that they keep harping on in this show a complete joke. Qimer shamed Sol into putting his saber away because he was unarmed, but he just demonstrated that he's no less of a threat without a saber. Just stab him and be done with it.
The Jecki thing upset me because she was my favorite character. If this were a show like GOT with a large main cast, this wouldn’t be so bad but this is a small cast and they likely killed a lot of folk’s favorites this episode. I get the need to raise the stakes and the deaths were well done but I’m not a super big fan of Osha or Master Sol, their acting is top notch, I just don’t vibe with them as characters. Although I think Qmir is an amazing character despite the fact he brutally killed my favorite. I guess what I’m trying to say is I hope they didn’t alienate fans by killing off too many too soon without introducing more characters for fans to love first.
this shows writing is obviously bad, but the action woww, id say its above average for sure, better than sequel trilogy choreography. Those hand to hand combat and the brutal neck snapping is something else... 3 time stab?! brutalllll
I wasn't really digging this show much until Episode 5. I was shocked and surprised that they killed off those two and I wonder if they're setting this up to be something akin to the Terminator where Qimir is hunting Mae and Sol. My guess is we're gonna see Asha become the new Acolyte something probably cemented when Asha learns whatever it is that Sol is hiding which I suspect has to do with the death of the mothers.
I think Ki-Adi-Mundi appearing was a chekovs gun to remind us the Jedi council believes "the sith haven't been extinct for over a millenia". No "protagonist" is making it out of this series alive. I don't come to conclusions till after a season of anything ends and this season, this episode was a good direction.
So do they ever say what his arm band thing is made of? Is it beskar? Pretty impressive that it can stop a lightsaber. Maybe a little too impressive...
Cortosis, it's a fairly deep pull from the Expanded Universe. In a pure form, it can short out a saber, but it is also quite brittle (which is why Jecki breaks it with a couple of strikes), so it is more often used in an alloy form, which only has about the same level of lightsaber resistance as beskar.
I will be honest, i hated york and jeckie death, it feels just unecessary and pointless and doesnt make the show better, the contrary, makes it worse, they wasted the characters that otherwise could have been developed later in the series
Qimir seems to rely on the intimidation and mental wammies against the jedi, and struggled against Jeki and Sol when they werent scared. I doubt those tricks would work on Maul.
i was so bored and actually pleased they got rid of these terribly written dumb and annoying characters good for the show maybe from here on out it gets better. thats to say watching a steaming pile of s*it was more entertaining than this until now.
funny how when palpatine 1v4 jedis everybody are like : this is impossible he could never have won that easily, but here we have a 1v8 from some random dark side wielder and everyone is like : wow, that's amazing

In a pure form, it can short out a saber, but it is also quite brittle (which is why Jecki breaks it with a couple of strikes), so it is more often used in an alloy form, which only has about the same level of lightsaber resistance as beskar.
@@TalesLordCortosis also has the drawback of being toxic. As we found out from the new Thrawn Books, cortosis alloys can also short out lightsabers.
I will be honest, i hated york and jeckie death, it feels just unecessary and pointless and doesnt make the show better, the contrary, makes it worse, they wasted the characters that otherwise could have been developed later in the series
Yord will need a chiropractor.
A better chiropractor*
@@Squishyk9 and a neck
Episode didn't deliver anything
It delivered awesome fight choreography
It's yordover
Yawn… Jedi knight Outcast used Cortosis better than this joke of a series
Why do half of the jedi have yellow sabers anyway? They're supposed to be for a rare class, no?
Writers know SW lore from a few tik toks
Poor Jaki. Sniffs.
So, what was unthinkable?
Main characters in SW have always been notorious for their plot armor. Not in this one.
I think Qimir can beat Darth Maul
ofc he can, with bad writting he can do anything.
Qimir seems to rely on the intimidation and mental wammies against the jedi, and struggled against Jeki and Sol when they werent scared. I doubt those tricks would work on Maul.
i was so bored and actually pleased they got rid of these terribly written dumb and annoying characters
good for the show maybe from here on out it gets better. thats to say
watching a steaming pile of s*it was more entertaining than this until now.
the Anakin Death Star guy got killed rip lol
spoiler alert. the twins will finish the final boss chanting " the power of maaany" when they sync their force attacks.
funny how when palpatine 1v4 jedis everybody are like : this is impossible he could never have won that easily, but here we have a 1v8 from some random dark side wielder and everyone is like : wow, that's amazing
Yeah well that's because Palpatine fought against 4 council members, among whom some top tier duelists like Agen Kolar, not some random Jedi no one knows
@@adambrunt3851 that and they really should have used stuntmen for that fight to stand in for Palps and Windu
@@adambrunt3851 yes, but palpatine is probably the greatest sith of all time, and has mastered all 7 forms of lightsaber combat, and after the element of surprise, he had much more trouble against windu. in the acolyte, they may not be all council members, but they are all AT LEAST knights given their age (except Jecki)
@@davidfaltin431 Knights/Masters in name only. Unlike the clone wars timeline, these Jedi are in a time of peace. They have little to no real combat experience and weren't as prepared to kill.
@@atrocious7766 That's a good point, but I still think that the level difference between Palpatine and Qimir (there has to be a massive one, Qimir cannot be on the same level as palpatine) is big enough to compensate this
🤮
Cool fights without plot is nothing
Apparently it was enough to get everyone revved up for more Woke Wars. I'm glad I've moved on. Seeing the toddlers clap at the flashing lights has made me nauseous. Watching these reviews just makes me feel better about my decision.
Good things the Acolyte did: the fight scenes and bringing Cortosis to film. Bad things the Acolyte did: almost everything else
