I know you might not see this, but I havn't really made art in many years. I didn't have any motivation and whenever I did try to create something, I just got upset with what I made. Watching your videos these past few months have inspired me so much that I've started creating again! not sure if it means anything, but I've been in a very similar situation when I was younger. you can't get back years you lose, but you can move forward and focus on the things you enjoy. Sounds like art is something that is important to you, and that's why you are having those feelings. Try not to be overwhelmed, but rather enjoy the process and watch as progress follows. 💜
I was recently in the same situation. Life kinda got in the way for a while and I lost touch with the art mediums I used to use most and any form of actually drawing (I use InkScape a lot because I can just create shapes on any computer with a mouse and make something really cool, so still creating, just not in ways I am used to, not painting, no drawing, etc.) So it was really hard to get back into it when I had the opportunity. I eventually tried to draw something fast and tiny once a day for a week and it got my drawing gears turning again and I started to naturally decide to draw more often. It's nice. Although, I don't feel very confident in my skills yet. It's weird because I'm only relying in muscle memory to draw right now, not my actual knowledge, so I feel a little out of control. But it's important to remember that it's okay to not like a drawing, we still learn something just from doing it.
honestly, how you felt is how I'm feeling right now. High school just started for me and I'm trying to focus more on that and my dance classes than doing the one thing I enjoy. And when I do try to draw, I upset myself because I cant let loose and draw what I want to draw. I'm losing a thing I love because of stress and I and I want it back. I also want to say thank you to Waffles because when I watch her videos I remember that it's okay to not be perfect and that I'll grow :)

I’ve been dealing with depression (and OCD, ADHD, generalized anxiety, etc.) for most of my life, and I have to say, watching Rin’s videos really help during the tough times. She either takes my mind off of my issues, or reminds me that art can be therapeutic. Even when Rin herself has had difficult times, she has been comforting, uplifting, and inspiring. Not to mention how she made me realize that I love drawing.
The Audrey Hepburn pic was from"Breakfeast at Tiffanies" She was skipping out on her bail and running to a foreign country, knowing she could never return home. In the process, she let her cat go back onto the streets to be an independent mind. Or at least, that's what happened in the book
I actually have depression. I don't want to do anything at all. My only hobby is drawing but I don't even have energy to lift a finger. But this video inspired me a lot! On my really bad days, I’ll open line of action and just sketch some 30 second stuff. It makes you feel like you did something, but if it’s bad there’s no real pressure cuz you only had 30 seconds anyway. It’s a nice way to just stop thinking for a while

My mental health's been getting really bad recently and because of it I haven't felt like drawing or creating anything, but your videos inspire me to want to create (I also got my first drawing tablet a few weeks ago because the first videos I saw of yours was your old character speedpaints from around 2015? time)
I remember when I was younger I was always so inspired by your art and loved the way you sketched. the only problem was I took ALL of your advice, don’t get me wrong it wasn’t bad advice and in general was very good advice, but younger me also tried copying your style, and when I did copy it I’d get super frustrated and angry because “why does it not look like Waffles style!😾” but now I realize that it was kinda good for me to go through that faze, because it helped me develop the style I have today! In conclusion, kid idolizes RUclipsr, tries to steal style, then finds its own and thank you for that waffles
Ugh I LOVE victory rolls. Talk about making a lady look classy! On a side note, you should really look into Audrey Hepburn as a person. She's fascinating! She could speak 6 languages. She grew up under German occupation in the Netherlands during WW2. To help raise money for the resistance she did dance concerts. After she retired from acting she put most of her efforts toward Unicef and helping people get access to clean water.
I would have never guessed that the resulting spread would look so cohesive. It’s like you planned it rather than just drawing what Pinterest gave you. I’m definitely going to try this!

This was really inspiring to watch, i love how you just draw lines and shapes and then draw on top of them. I'm so scared to do it wrong that i end up failing but the way you just go for it is great.
been in an art funk so i decided to do this along with you (except using my own pinterest fyp). and it's so nice to just copy/draw what you see directly. i'm also passive learning in a sense, since i will jot down what i think looks cool or what i feel like i couldn't quite capture, so that i can look into it later. thanks for the video! it was fum drawing along with you~
This was such a great idea Rin😁 I flip through my Pinterest boards all the time and maybe pick one or two things to draw that are in my comfort zone, but this method would help me conquer some fears and make my spreads way more interesting. Also the movie still was from Breakfast at Tiffany’s (one of Audrey Hepburn’s most iconic). And the fingernail art was referencing off-set printing which was used masterfully in the old animated classic Harold Boing Boimg😊
Pinterest helps me a lot when I draw, especially when i try drawing different poses cause I always mess on on the damn BODY PROPORTIONS AND IT WOULD END UP LOOKING WEIRDDDDDDDD

Watching you draw bodies has really helped me with drawing them because I got stuck when trying but using ur technique really helped out

I know you might not see this, but I havn't really made art in many years. I didn't have any motivation and whenever I did try to create something, I just got upset with what I made. Watching your videos these past few months have inspired me so much that I've started creating again!
I got an illo sketchbook the other day and so far I have 6 spreads of drawings of my pupper, he’s all the beauty and inspiration I need.

My mental health's been getting really bad recently and because of it I haven't felt like drawing or creating anything, but your videos inspire me to want to create (I also got my first drawing tablet a few weeks ago because the first videos I saw of yours was your old character speedpaints from around 2015? time)
can relate to it; is recently the same problem for me too.
“cool, i should try this,” i say and immediately watch two hours’ worth of five-minute craft pinterest videos instead.
I remember when I was younger I was always so inspired by your art and loved the way you sketched. the only problem was I took ALL of your advice, don’t get me wrong it wasn’t bad advice and in general was very good advice, but younger me also tried copying your style, and when I did copy it I’d get super frustrated and angry because “why does it not look like Waffles style!😾” but now I realize that it was kinda good for me to go through that faze, because it helped me develop the style I have today! In conclusion, kid idolizes RUclipsr, tries to steal style, then finds its own and thank you for that waffles

Ugh I LOVE victory rolls. Talk about making a lady look classy! On a side note, you should really look into Audrey Hepburn as a person. She's fascinating! She could speak 6 languages. She grew up under German occupation in the Netherlands during WW2. To help raise money for the resistance she did dance concerts. After she retired from acting she put most of her efforts toward Unicef and helping people get access to clean water.

I would have never guessed that the resulting spread would look so cohesive. It’s like you planned it rather than just drawing what Pinterest gave you. I’m definitely going to try this!

The Audrey Hepburn pic is from “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”. Great movie. It might be my favorite of hers. 💕 I love how the sketchbook spread wound up looking like a page in a scrapbook.
This was really inspiring to watch, i love how you just draw lines and shapes and then draw on top of them. I'm so scared to do it wrong that i end up failing but the way you just go for it is great.

I can just get sucked in and spend hours on there just organizing things I like
been in an art funk so i decided to do this along with you (except using my own pinterest fyp). and it's so nice to just copy/draw what you see directly. i'm also passive learning in a sense, since i will jot down what i think looks cool or what i feel like i couldn't quite capture, so that i can look into it later. thanks for the video! it was fum drawing along with you~

This was such a great idea Rin😁 I flip through my Pinterest boards all the time and maybe pick one or two things to draw that are in my comfort zone, but this method would help me conquer some fears and make my spreads way more interesting.
Also the movie still was from Breakfast at Tiffany’s (one of Audrey Hepburn’s most iconic). And the fingernail art was referencing off-set printing which was used masterfully in the old animated classic Harold Boing Boimg😊
The Audrey pin is from Breakfast at Tiffany's, near the end. The cat's name is, ironically, Cat.

Hi!! You should do a spread of reptiles like frogs or snakes in your sketchbook. I’ve been trying to draw snakes in my sketchbook and they’re a lot more complicated than I thought lol.
