This is amazing i love the feel it gives! A cozy winter night with the warmth from the hotspring! Just a suggestion but maybe you could do a farmers field or barn yard i'd love to see how you tackle that!
Hi! Thanks for watching. I used galv's layer graphics as the parallax plugin for this one but orange overlays also works just fine, I used that one for years. The moving fog is a scrolling (fog) layer, you can do that with both plugins. And the water isn't animated.
@@starlitcastle Thank you so much! I'm trying to learn how to parallax map, and I've seen galv's plugin come up a lot. I really like how flexible it is, so I think I might go with that. I'll also look into orange overlays + the addon for animated parallaxes. If you're taking suggestions, maybe you can do a beginner's tutorial for those plugins? Otherwise, a setting I'd like to see is the meadow from Howl's Moving Castle or the bakery from Kiki's Delivery Service!
@@amandaon32 Yeah, having the ability to have multiple fog/par layers aaand especially actual parallax scrolling layers is why I changed over to galv's plugin after using orange overlays for years. I covered galv's a bit in my parallax mapping tutorial, but I'll add tutorials for both to my list for future videos aswell as the map inspirations and see if I get to them. Thanks again! :)
I use Clip Studio Paint. But you should be able to do most of this in most image editors. PS, Gimp, Krita... it's just a question of knowing how to use the software.
Why would you even want to do that without plugins? You could build custom tilesets with a lot of edits to get higher quality tileset maps, but you'd still miss out one the fog layer, as the default parallax layer RPGM has is always below the tileset layers.
@@ikd66 Not for the fog and I didn't use it on this map. I used galv's layer graphics, which allows you to have multiple parallax layers and to move them.
The map is created in Clip Studio Paint and is a parallax map for RPGMMV. You can look up parallax mapping tutorials if you want to learn more about it.
I think I used about 3 different brushes in this. A very soft one for shading, a slightly soft one for drawing in the snow and a textured one to erase the snow, which I did at some party also do with the very soft one just to lower the opacity of the snow layer in some areas.

Thank you for the kind words and suggestion! I'll add a farm/barn area to the list of possible future maps! :)
I felt so very relaxed watching this being made
and also found it very educating to me as well
This is insane, i learned so much already just by watching a couple of your videos. Thanks for uploading
Glad to hear that! Have fun creating!
Great job
Wow. I have so much to learn, so far to go. Thank you for sharing. ^.^
I hope you'll enjoy the journey!
Beautiful 😊
Thank you!
Looking good!
Thanks!
can you make a tutorial specifically for this map please
💚
My god, this is amazing!
How long did it take for you to do this whole screen?
Thank you! Around 5 hours. Which is quite a bit, haha.
Hi! Thank you for the video. I wanted to ask how you got the fog to move like that, and what plugins you used here. Is the water animated as well?

May I ask what program you are using for this? I love how you got the blue roof and made it go from a 90 to 45 degree angle very effortlessly!!!!
I use Clip Studio Paint. But you should be able to do most of this in most image editors. PS, Gimp, Krita... it's just a question of knowing how to use the software.
which tilesets did you use for this?
amazing! but, what is the name of this software you are using for this??
I do have a tutorial on my channel.
looks great! how do you do the layers in rpg maker? are you using another plug-in?
I use a parallax mapping plugin, I have a tutorial for this on the channel.
Which Software do you use for mapping?
I use clip studio paint. Thanks for watching :)
Is there a way to do this with such big levels with out plugins?
Why would you even want to do that without plugins?
You could build custom tilesets with a lot of edits to get higher quality tileset maps, but you'd still miss out one the fog layer, as the default parallax layer RPGM has is always below the tileset layers.
how did you make the mist move? Another map on top?
Yes, it's another parallax layer that is scrolling across the map.
The moving fog at the end, how did you go about doing it? Thank you in advance for any help or advice.
it's another scrolling parallax layer on top using a tileable image I made with some cloud brushes.
@@starlitcastle Thanks. I assume you are using the doodad plugin then?

@@starlitcastle One more question How do I take the files out of the engine to a drawing engine?
how would i go about commissioning you for something like this?
I only occasionally take on commissions.

no, I use Clip Studio Paint, but you could use PS or something else like Krita or GIMP :)
@@starlitcastle thxx
what game?
it's not from a game, it was just a test map.
