    The only people who can call a player a superstar are that players' teammates and the opposing teams/players in the league. Clearly, JB gets that respect with the amount of double and triple teams he's getting on a nightly basis (for a small guy) and the trust his teammates and coaches give to him by allowing him to take control of the offense 90% of the time. These oldheads use MJ as the standard for a superstar. They dont even understand JB's ordeal in trying to get all these wins - 6'1, not very athletic, no all star teammate, severely depleted roster. If he wins the championship, for me he's the best Knick ever and one of the best to ever play the game. And I am a Mavs fan

    They’re too undermanned to do it, but if they did win the Finals you have to call Brunson a Superstar. Only players who can say they’ve lead their team to a chip is LeBron, Steph, Kawhi, Giannis, Jokic and KD (depending on if you count him).

  • @jonathancheverez4345
    @jonathancheverez4345 26 дней назад +1

    wtf are these guys talking about? Now your judging if the ring is a fluke? So Boston winning the chip will be a fluke then right?
    The problem with them is that they give the title to superstar to other folks that haven’t hit the same marks that they want Jalen to hit. SMH.

      Super Star is not just winning a ring, Super Star is also multiple years of excellence. Even if KD had never won a ring he would still be a Super Star. Luka is a Super Star without any hardware. At any moment against any team he takes the game over and looks like the best player on the court. Can you honest say Brunson would average 40 against the Nuggets or average 30 next season? I guarantee you with watching a single NBA game next season i can tell you Luka, KD, Steph, Lebrons and Jokers state line. It's a very good season, most people like myself would just like to see him do it longer.

    This feels like the Brock Purdy discourse. Why does it matter so much if Brunson is a star or superstar, or if Purdy is a game-manager or actually good? What matters is the results on the court and field.

  • @Carlossnl123
    @Carlossnl123 25 дней назад

    Jalen Brunson is damn near a superstar if not he is already one. Especially if he keeps playing like this and gets better. He’s carrying a knicks team that is depleted of its starting players and still has his team in it. Don’t tell me Donavan is better he outplayed him when he carried the Mavs without Luka and he beat him last year against the cavs

  • @lilboyblue3000
    @lilboyblue3000 26 дней назад +1

    Man, this segment is stupid. Chronicles of Judah has the best definition for a super star. It's an MVP of Finals MVP level player that leads a team to a championship. Currently, we have 2-5 max super stars in the league by this definition. Jokic, Giannis, Curry. The rest either haven't proven it or can no longer do it.

    • @enigma13ff
      @enigma13ff 26 дней назад

      So you felt Kawhi was a Super Star winning his first ring with the Spurs or Iggy with the Warriors? Super Star is not winning a ring, Super Star is multiple years of excellence.

    • @lilboyblue3000
      @lilboyblue3000 26 дней назад

      @@enigma13ffNo by the criteria I mentioned. Those two couldn't lead their teams to the finals. Curry led the warriors there. Kawhi did end up proving he was indeed a super star in his 2nd finals run. I disagree with multiple years of excellence because this leads to people calling chokers like Embiid and Harden super stars when they're clearly not capable of leading a championship team.

    If the Knicks were to win the title this year, not only would Brunson be considered a superstar by everybody, but both of you would be genuflecting to him and to what a superstar he is.
    But, not to worry, the Knicks have gone as far as they are going to go this year.

  • @cedwilliams7989

    I dont understand. Isaiah gets credit for being a dominant small superstar, and he wasn't athletic, tall or big either. All he did was lead a team and put the ball in the hole. That's exactly what brunson does.

  • @praveen921

    If Brunson's Knicks were in the west, they would either get knocked out in the play-in or swept( or nearly swept) in the first round.They are just lucky to be in the East. The warriors or Sac could beat them in a 7 game series and no one would bat an eye...and neither of them were even in the playoffs out west...

    They don't pay attention to their takes at all. Chris is like the Pacers should beat the Knicks because of all the injuries, but if the Knicks win Brunson still isn't a superstar, even though he's the only starter still playing and is dragging this team to wins, while other guys like Booker, Embiid, etc. are superstars and can't win with stacked rosters? This is just stupid at this point.

    There are def two types of fans/viewers in this context. Some fans are base on stereotypes and size and resume, others are about what is happening in the moment, what they are seeing with their two eyes. I wonder if the first type actually watches games. If they don’t it would make sense why they don’t care how well antone is playing, they only care about the stereotypical data that needs to be met to meet their requirements

    For me at this point it’s just about how people feel about about a player wether the personality or the swag cause clearly Jalen Brunson numbers are crazy this year not only season and postseason as well and they still make a way to classify him like that .. they are not objective it’s just preferences to me

    The fact that he just said if the Knicks win the championship this year, he’s not a superstar because their path was easy? Well, that has to be the dumbest take I’ve heard all year. Because they didn’t have to go through the West and they played teams with injured players? What about all the injuries on his team? I don’t think he’s a superstar yet but if wins it all with that team. Then yes he’s a superstar

    I think Brunson is a star, a superstar cross over to popular culture, you don't have to watch wrestling to know Hulk Hogan.
    If the knicks win the championship he would definetly enter another realm, New York is the media capital of the world, he would get so many tv appearences on late night television, cameos on tv shows and movies, he'd be headed places, that city is desperate for the knicks to win.
