Do any aps let us know about local restrictions? In Ottawa County, Michigan, there are restrictions that are not published or signs, that warn/prohibit drones the the county parks without authorizations. How are visitors to know about those restrictions?

Usually the apps listed do a good job of being up to date with local restrictions. Or specific counties and locations might post about certain restrictions. If it's a new area, I usually always google it as well.

Waiting for my 107 license in the mail as of this week confirmed by the FAA. My original DJI was unfortunately stolen before I could even use it unfortunately however I just purchased another commercial drone and will register it once I get the 107 in hand as well as any other legal obligations as well. I did not know however in hurricane aftermaths as I was aiming to aid in search and rescue being a former now retired first responder yet I know not to interfere with flying anywhere near first responders during any emergency event it is kinda confusing on some of this.

Yeah, there are some instances when drones are allowed to aid in search and rescue but they obviously have to be in cooperation with the first responders or one of the first responders might be controlling the drone, etc.

@@uavcoach ... The positive note is I received my 107 license in the mail since I posted my comment so I am happy, I already owned my light weight thermal camera that will be installed on the bottom of my drone and just ordered my light weight recorder with the highest possible gigabyte storage to record thermal. I will also be utilizing the thermal camera for lost pets in addition search and rescue when the time of need arises.
Overall in Florida, first responders by recent law changes cannot use drones as of now due to the Chinese bans going on so first responder drones have been grounded which is ridiculous in my opinion and I will never utilize my drone over any first responder activity either. Plus during hurricane aftermaths there will be a need for insurance companies both with regular footage and thermal imaging so I feel it will be a plus to have this very powerful little thermal on the drone. I will also have it readily available for any semi powerful tornado that strikes my state like with what had occurred over the last two years. Those of course are unpredictable unlike hurricanes with advanced notice.

Very good video UAV! Certainly what people need to know in our current environment. I bought two drones at the end of last year due to the price coming down so much but that's also a problem as people think they can just fly. I've been a flight enthusiast for life and have some training so I knew right away it wasn't cut and dry, following the regs and got my TRUST and here in Nevada...NO flying in public unless it's on your property, NO flying over buildings that don't belong to you, (invasion of privacy, trespassing) and NO flying over ANY people due to danger of death or grave bodily harm from a falling aircraft!
