Well done. As a professional videographer could I add a couple of explanatory notes. 1. The reason for most of these controls is that electronics don't see light the same way we do. 2. D Log (and similar) compensate for point 1, but only work if you have software for colour grading. It is NOT meant to be used straight out of the camera, but gives a much better result when graded. 3. Aperture and ISO also impact the light reaching the sensor and can be used instead of ND's if you also understand the effects mentioned in this video and allow for them.
@@TMH792 there is a lot of cross over, but there are extra things to be aware of in video mainly because it is dynamic. Techniques that work on a single image can fall over spectacularly on video. Others are just the same.
Just found your video and I appreciate every instructional moment of it. You have made the instruction very simple with plenty of sub videos to help me understand the process. Great job! I will be following you and look forward to many of your videos on drones. Thank you
I am currently saving to get a drone for both personal use and as a side gig for aerial photography. Which DJI drone will you recommend on a minimalistic budget?
Sorry for the late reply, but the DJI Mini 4 Pro looks like a great option and isn't as expensive as some other drones. You could even do the DJI Mini 3 Pro. Similar specs and a little cheaper!
My only comment is that Aspect Ratio has nothing to do with 1080p vs 4k The aspect ratio is the ratio of horizontal to vertical resolution. ie 4x5 or 9x16
great vidoe , thanks I have a phantom 4 pro which i am using for ariel footage of local short sty accommodation however recently my drone will only record up to 11 sec of footage...it then buffers and stops and and then I have to go again...any ideas?
Hi, i would like to start a small scale 2d drone lightshow business in my country, but i am looking for a provider of the equipment and software that has reasonable prices, do you know any?
As far as I'm aware, all of these companies all custom build their devices and program their own software. I don't think anyone is producing these setups for sale because there is very little demand, given how expensive it is to build that many drones. You could easily assemble a team of workers in the US to design and build the drones, but the software engineering team might be more difficult to find.
The next version of betaflight (the software used to control all FPV drones) is supposed to have position hold, like DJI drones, so at that point it may be easier to find someone who can play around with modifying that software to meet your needs, but this is almost definitely a custom job, not something you can order from a company.
@@DanielCrist i see so right now if one wants to provide drone light show services he has to engineer the tech needed not just buy ready to use hardware and software.
@@wowfmomf6126 yes, as far as I'm aware - that's what many companies in this sector seem to be doing - they all have their own self-developed proprietary software and custom built drones. That's why they are able to charge thousands upon thousands (likely into the 10s of thousands - I forget exactly, I read an article a few months ago) of dollars for you to hire them for a 30 minute show. Because it cost them so much to develop the company and thousands of hours of specialized R&D had to go into it. They know that it takes more than just writing a check to get everything you need to establish such a company, so they can charge very high rates with very little competition. I would be surprised if there was more than a dozen such companies in North America.
I'm wondering how much data a typical 5 minutes 4k video take up with the Mini 3 Pro. I just ordered mine. I have a bad habit of not backing cards up, and I was looking at either a 5 pack of 64gb or of 128gb cards. I want enough data that I could capture an entire 3 or 4 day trip on one card, but not end up with too much on one card if I happen to lose the drone or if it gets stolen. So is 128 too much here or is that right in the sweet spot? Whichever way I go, I'll have 4 really, not 5, as one will be dedicated for the controller. Thanks for your time and help!
I'm assuming a typical 5 minute 4k video takes up about 2GB of data. I personally have a 128gb card, but if that pack is out of your price range, 64gb will be enough for your trip!
@@uavcoach oh, I was thinking like 1gb per minute. Money isn't really the determining factor, just the fear of losing a card that's nearly full and whether that's a 64gb card or a 128gb card. I have a bad habit of not moving data off of SD cards, but I also delete a lot of stuff from my SD cards as I go that I'm not super happy with, so 64gb should be more than enough per card. So I ended up going with the the 64gb 5 pack and two 128gb cards. Thanks for your help.
@@DanielCrist Of course! And another good tip is instead of deleting files from your computer, it's better to format your SD card in the DJI app. This helps with the overall compatibility between your card and the drone.
This video is just awesome. This is the type of content I need to learn. I have a Mavic 3 pro as my first drone 😂😂😂. I desperately need to learn for my channel. Thanks, you earned my subscription and I’ll be watching more of your videos. A++
That's amazing to hear, thank you so much for the feedback! Glad you found the video helpful and let us know any other videos you want us to make! Blue skies and safe flying!
Do not see the gimbal controls you recommend changing. In Follow Mode, gain & expo tuning does not appear. Only gimbal setting is "recenter gimbal". Drone is DJI Mini 3
Yes, you are correct. I noticed the wording was a little off while editing so made a small text adjustment to show that it's more commonly referred to as the resolution.
Part 3 will be on how to plan out your drone photos and videos which will be out by the end of this week. The editing video will be out in the next 1 to 2 weeks!
Well done.

One thing you did not mention is to always format (reformat after upload) your MicroSD card in the drone. Great video, thanks.
Great tip! And glad you enjoyed it! Blue skies and safe flying!
Great videos, thanks for sharing! Just got part 107 certified and got an air 3. Pumped to get serious!
Nice! 15:57 Also just bought the air 3. How difficult was getting the 107?

I would check the SD card to see if there's anything wrong with that. If there are no problems there, I would contact DJI directly!
got my first drone, Mini 3, this video is absolutely useful because I have a shaky hand

isnt this the same as part 1?
