That feeling of wanting to push the car into a river with everything in it, I know it well 😆 I'm in the middle of a massive declutter and I've often thought how that box of matches in the kitchen might do me a favour! Well done for getting all follow up jobs done, I find they're worse than the decluttering. What a sweet boy Samson is 😊

I have felt this! The amount of times I've contemplated burning down the donations corner in my home office space, just because I don't want to go to 5+ places to get rid of everything... ugh!
Definitely try to find a place that will take just about anything. If it’s all getting donated. Our local hospice thrift store takes pretty much anything I can’t think of anything they have ever turned away

I loved this video! This part of decluttering is not glamorous. It’s frustrating and time consuming. Thanks for showing us what others usually don’t and reminding us this is work but it’s worth it.

I love those little libraries. It definitely is harder when you have to carry things up the stairs. I swear Samson would have driven if you'd have given him the chance :) Oh no.. Isn't that the way .. you finally get your poop in a group and start in and then things start to go wrong. Goodwill full/wrong box. Ours has been we are making great progress on things and then something breaks and sidetracks us or some health related thing comes up. But we can always get started again. Thanks for the tip on the Thread Up. I have a lot of clothes and like you I HATE doing the consignment. Make an appt.. only allows 10 items at a time.. super picky even though a lot of the stuff in the store is not as nice as what I'm trying to consign. Then I think oh maybe eBay and then I NEVER do it. Great great great tip !!! It's going on my to do list.. A few down the line, but still on the list :)

At Christmas I wear myself out sending boxes of small gifts to various nieces and nephews' families here in Southern California. One time I was mailing at UPS and the clerk should me how to cut down a box to the needed size. I have done that many times since then.
I love the grace and gentleness you show to yourself. I noticed your license plate isn't blurred out...you might want to consider doing that for your safety/privacy.

I took 4 huge bags( about 150 items) to platos and 6 hours later they bought 10 items. Never Again!!!

getting all of my returns done (in store or thru mail) always feels so daunting/overwhelming but by golly does it feel amazing when you pull through and get it done!
i know!! it does feel overwhelming i had to list it all out and feels awesome to get done!

I’m watching this in June as I’m doing a big declutter with my family tomorrow. As I’m watching you, I pause the video and go through my closet to see if there are any clothes or shoes I can declutter now…..it’s 11:45 p.m.😂😂😂 Thanks for the motivation. Also love seeing L.A. It’s on my wish list of places to travel.🥰
Just got an Amazon delivery today - didn’t work out so I’m planning on returning it at Kohl’s tomorrow. Returning stuff is the hardest part! But, if we don’t get the 14 inches of snow they’re predicting for us, I’m going to do it! 🥶

Experiencing this “unglamorous,” slogging part of the decluttering process myself just makes me even more determined to STOP BUYING ALL THE CRAP to begin with!!!! 😂 Yay, minimalism!!
But ummmm… that mask at 18:06 is transparent… it’s not a real mask that will prevent virus transmission, it’s just a fashion statement. I only wear N95 masks. They’re not cute but they’re the only ones that are effective against Omicron.

This is prime example of why "just get rid of it" is easier said than done. It's really discouraging when you go through all the hard work of decluttering and the donation place isn't taking donations, etc. Ugh. So frustrating!
exactly! the what to do after is a lot of hard work. being way more mindful of what i even allow into my life now cuz i don't want to have to manage so much ❤️

i used to go to a dance studio here in l.a. that closed for covid but yes i love dancing!
How frustrating it is returning things I mean once you decide to do it, it only takes five minutes and it is such a relief

I feel that in my soul. We're trying the garage sale method 🤣 i have no idea if anything will go but if not I'm tempted to call one of those 1-800 numbers they have for junk removal.

Loved this. I know the struggle with getting things dropped off to Goodwill and needing to make returns. And it is all the little things that just start to pile up. I like your idea of writing down a small list and just work on that. Kudos!!

Love your channel and though I’m very OCD neat and organized I find it so frustrating when i declutter and it’s more difficult to find a place to get rid of things than it is to declutter.
I love the way Samson just appears with the look too funny.🥰
I can relate to the post-it todo list. Short keeps me on task. I’ve actually started to use a blank library card, though. They are relatively inexpensive on etsy or amazon, and a library card makes me smile when I look at it. Bonus- it stays legible and not wrinkled all weekend..or however long it takes me.

There is a lot of effort required to divest of items. An excellent reminder to think twice or more before any purchase. (The buying part is so effortless in comparison!)

I'm "spring decluttering", I know that's no real verb 😂 and honestly I don't need an excuse for decluttering, bc it's always decluttering season in my home.

What store tales returns that you have had for years that you didnt wear.
Everything you do, I do too. From post it notes to decluttering to drop offs. I laughed so hard at that little library, because I have one up the street from me and I have donated to it many times! Yet, somehow, watching you do exactly what I do, relaxes me. So weird. lol. I guess it's because I can totally relate. Either way, carry on. =)

i grew up in a 2 story house and I live in one now. I like the bedrooms being upstairs and separate. Also I feel safer having my windows up at night since it will take a ladder to get to me.

Hi, Carla and Samson!❤This video was also a city tour , I liked to see your city 😊. And very inspirational for decluttering! We have recycling clothes bins in cities ( I am following you from Romania) where I go immediately after declutter, with clothes that can't be donated, and if it is something that I can donate, I post photos with items, on a local group for donations. After that I go at the person who wanted the items and I give. I am not sure if I can sell some, they are not expensive things... Thank you for video! ❤ 🤗

Hi Carla. I thoroughly enjoy your videos always. I have been binge watching and you have eased my anxiety about decluttering my wardrobe especially as we are about to move. Its a daunting task and i didn't know where and how to begin.
I love it when you show us your friends. I worry about you living there alone without family. We would love to know your background, family, how come there's no man in your life etc(typical nosey viewer😂). By the way, putting your desk infront of an AC is a bad idea because these things always harbour mold no matter how much they are cleaned. Better to sit away from it. Also for your migraines, try fennel tea and ginger tea is great for allergies as well as many other inflammatory conditions.

Hi! I don't know if you are putting ads on your videos or youtube does that automatically, but it's very off putting - there are too many ads! Many times I just close the video because it stops to play ads every couple of minutes .🌺

Get the You Tube premium. It's only around 10 bucks a month and there are no ads. If you are on YT a lot it's definitely worth it !

I found that once I stopped shopping for fun, only when it was intentional to replace something, was I truly able to keep a less cluttered home consistently. Makeup and clothes were common impulse buys and browsing purchases. I didn't even notice until I made the rule "one in, one out" haha
yea that impulse buying is hard. i ask myself "do i need this" and dammit if the answer aint always NO lol
