I live in MA and love fishing. I just need a boat and I could get some stripers but my grandparents are the only ones with a boat and we don't get to go often.
Just got a 20' Mako CC this year, live in Sandwich. Still learning the ropes. Where you at? People who always say they want to go fishing but rare that i find someone wanting to get up at 5 am and go catch bait and go out all day.
Some of the best friendships I have made were based on fishing. Definitely try to get out there together.
You don't need a boat a caught in monsters from the shore every year and I live in Mass just North of Boston

What are you using to catch mackerel
@MikeSmedley you ever catch stripers using drop shots? I know you'd want to use blood worms, mackerel sandfleas or eels, and shrimp. Just wondering if you've tried drop shot using that type of foliage. I have soft plastics that are eels mackerel was thinking of trying a drop shot just asking your opinion.
I never have, but it will definitely work. You may get hammered with smaller fish, but it will certainly work!
I don't fish for strippers, but I love your videos. Entertaining and great info! I think I'm gonna give stripper fishing a try. Do you ever fish for them when they run in the Delaware River?

We went straight to the channel and started chumming first. Kept chumming until we marked them. If that didn’t work after 5-10 minutes we moved.

Thanks, those are some great FF shots! A bit different than what I'm used to; I see a lot of 200kHz sonars with lesser cone angles. I always felt that the 12° cone is good for deep water but doesn't make much sense when you fishing 10'-45' depths.
That is some fantastic resolution for the lower freq. with a wider cone.
+Timothy Chrest thanks! I have tested quit a few transducers for Airmar and the tm150 med is an incredible little unit. It's only real downside is how it performs on plane speeds. It will NOT mark a fish while set to chirp. It holds bottom but won't show fish unless you switch it to 83khz. I had better plane speed results with the b175 H W. I am testing the TM185 H W now.
+Timothy Chrest I agree on all points. 200khz is great for bottom fishing where you need the detail, but for open water fishing shallow to deep I love medium chirp or 83 if you don't have chirp. The new WIDE series transducers Airmar came out with combine the best of both worlds. You get HIGH chirp for the bottom detail yet you still have a 25 degree cone set for open water.
finally someone knows what's up and trolls the macks instead of drifting them you cover more ground go find the fish instead of waiting for the to come to you

S Cherry The boat with the 200 was 22’ 8”. The boat with the 350 is 24’ 8” and 8” wider. I had a 22’ Sea Pro with a 150 that ran 46 mph.
