Honestly when it comes to programming jobs, college vs Uni debate does not matter much as 99% of the learning of coding practices happens at the job, not your collehe/Uni.
Yes, that's true. But still you need to be at a certain level to get that job. One point that I missed in the video is that I haven't seen much companies hiring the freshers and then train them to get the work done. For full time job or even for an internship companies are now expecting some level of experience. So, in short I wanted to tell everyone to utilise their 2 years of study period effectively and not just follow what's being taught in the class.

At the end it all comes to skills. I personally feel, diploma guys gave more hands on experience and engineers lack that. In my case, college worked out better than university.

Honest opinion!! I totally agree, the only difference that can make is skillset. Even if uni student has many more projects to showcase in other technologies compared to the ones being asked, and if a college student apply for the same position with relevant skills. College one is 100% in advantage

Sorry, to @ you here directly, I just wanted to know from someone who is knowledgeable about it.
Most college diploma holders in canada are getting the degree as a gateway to canadian PR ... they would eventually move to other careers ... such as trucking, realtors, construction workers, self enterpreneurs .... so it does not really matter whether they gain the relevant skills at all or not
Most but not all. There's a high percentage of students who can't get accepted to a university because of low grades or weak overall profile. And also not everyone can afford a university degree. So for them this info is crucial.

Listen carefully to what he says .... a college diploma in canada is equivalent to 3 udemy online courses .... means USD 29.97 .... so that's the reality of canadian college diplomas

@@youraverageguide yeah man! Btw ECE means Electrical and computer engineering! I contacted with them and they told me to move after graduation as in Windsor there are not so many jobs related to data scientist and AI related bcoz i wanna go into that side so.

Brother is it possible to go for a uni degree through Canadian college's gpa. In my case I couldn't get into a good University because of a low gpa. But now I have a Canadian degree with 3.9 gpa. I am planning to apply for a university degree after PR. Just wondering if it may work.
Yes, it is possible. Getting into a good university depends upon your overall profile. You can try getting some work experience related to your field and I think then you can try for a good university.
