"Inherit the Stars" is the name of a science fiction novel by James P. Hogan. The story is basically that long, long ago, humanity originally lived on another planet in the solar system that exploded and became the Asteroid Belt. The survivors relocated to Earth and lost much of their technology and eventually forgot their origins. In the 21st century, humanity rediscovers space flight and finds a human corpse on the Moon. It's the corpse of one of the original members of the ancient human civilization.
Interesting title to choose for this game's final battle theme.

@@jimmylee3226 For real? Damn. Well I guess I shouldn't be that surprised, because "Inherit the Stars" was pretty popular in Japan. It's one of the few foreign works that won the Seiun Award, which is a Japanese science-fiction award comparable to America's Hugo Award.

@@ryanepps2183 Actually, the "originally living on another planet" is correct because that's 1 of the endings you can choose and what Grief was fighting you for. If you pick Grief's ending, you see a Blue planet they trying to get to similar to the earth.

First time I heard this song, I was watching a man take a bath!
i think that part of what made this theme hit so hard is that the entire rest of the OST is rock, sou you expect the final boss theme to follow this trend. then they hit 'ya with the brass

Ran outta ammo towards the end of this fight. My mech doesn't carry swords.
So I cast my useless weapons aside after they were all spent.
I then spent 45 minutes punching God in the face.
As it should be.
I went into the battle dual wielding Excalibur, Miraging the hell out of my poor Femto gauge for the second half of the battle. And it took my sorry ass a good ten minutes.
And if you know what dual-wielding Excaiburs feels like, then you KNOW that this boss is a damage sponge. And I spent more or less 6 minutes chopping at it!
I lost my Arsenal when the enemy was at ~35%. I ended it as an Outer.

I by that point had tossed my rocket launcher aside fighting the terrors, my two assault rifles where emptied pretty quickly by this point, at that point I only had my blade... which this false god had the Gaul to steal from me... and so... I chucked its own room at it to kill it (containers at the bottom) when that failed, I got my ass off that floor and went to punch a god in the face, most epic fight of my life xD so here here to those who punched a god to death

Sometimes I feel Grief is more like Wizard 1
It took me everything to fight the dominator. I used all of my ammo, wasted all my femto, and had to rely on fighting with a blade and shield. Even after giving up my humanity and upgrading my mech, it still wasn't enough. I had to jump out of my mech as it crashed to the floor to destroy grief head on. This was more intense than anything I had faced in armored core.
DRAMATIC FINISH!
Same my lord the bosses were intense first try rigid kicked my ass hard now I have a pretty decent upgraded mech and other players are the bosses now this games pvp would be so good if it had a larger community
Ironically, the attempt after I regained my humanity, I won. Quite literally, as I finished it off as an Outer. And man, did I finish it off at a high point in the song.

Started the fight with 4 rocket launchers and a laser cannon, finished it bare handed on 0.1% hp, shit had me on the ropes, i love this game.
I played it when it came out on switch, I gotta recommend copping some 3 slot Bazooka arms, a maxed out Femto tank auxiliary weapon, and then getting some High Caliber rounds from immortals, putting them on all 3 slots both arms, Some rapid fire support Torso pieces, and THEN getting the Laser-Plane immortals' secret weapon, AND GIVING THAT LASER DAMAGE UP 7 on all 3 slots. Come back to the dominator with this build and you can kill him in under a minute with attack Femto 😂

Though I was on a melee build that time. Two swords, one physical, one femto and the flame missile launcher.

You spend the entire game destroying everything in front of you to reach the final boss and receive the beating of your life, the game.
Strangely beautiful... wasn't expecting this game to have such an unusual final boss theme.

Whether you defeat Grief or not doesn't matter. The "canon" Fulfill Life's Purpose ending will play out, Grief just wants to duel you for the honor of seeing it himself. The Daemon is a clone of Grief, and from his POV there are no hard feelings between you two.

I HAVE FINALLY FOUND THE BATH MUSIC
This ost really makes it feel like it’s the final showdown to decide the fate of not just the world, but humanity as well. First time fighting the boss felt like I had all odds against me. Then there was that rush after dealing the final blow to the Dominator at the skin of my teeth. I wish I could forget everying about Deamon X Machina just to experience the final battle like that all over again.

This was, so far, one of my most difficult bosses in my life

no matter how much ammo I came with it wasn't enough, resorting to the good ol' dash sword -> get behind him -> avoid SPEEN works. And somehow I still don't understand how melee combos work.

I just shot him until the last phase. Once the giant lasers came out, I destroyed one of them and floated in front of him, unloading every big gun I had left.
If you mean the katana's Chain Attack feature, it only works when you have more than one target to attack with it. You don't need to do anything special, just mash attack. As long as your first strike hits, you'll jump between targets for each hit. Sometimes you can get caught on a single target just because it's in your way and that's the one case where you can sometimes combo a single target. Chains work great on this boss because he has multiple targets on his body. :)

It is the greatest finale to a journey of torment and struggle. When everything seems hopeless to you and only the music can cheer you on. God this song is amazing

Laughs in exploding canister. (Seriously though, the 1,900 damage explosions are the only way I was able to defeat this stupid damage sponge of a boss)

Yeah...didn't know about the canisters. The way I ended this guy was just casting my weapons aside and punching him in the face for 45 minutes, since I don't carry swords.
I went old-school Armored Core style, and kept one sword on me. I had some ammo to spare, but I knew I was gonna need something to keep up with his pace and keep doing damage as long as I remained alive. Surprisingly, I didn't have that much difficulty with it.
We can all agree this boss was overpowered to the point where we finished it off as outers.

reminds me of the final battle in gundam seed season 1 (it's the only one i've seen, but it was pretty bad-ass to go up against a funnel system for the final battle)
The story of this game and what happened to grief is super confusing lmao
Based on what I understood
Grief merged with the dominator ("I, no WE are -the dominator-") but he still fought by himself during the final battle, he wasn't controlled by the dominator
In Unarmed meeting should You go Unarmed he says that he has the theory that the outers are those that Hear the dominator's voice and that "his plans" come from the dominator itself
His last words onscreen were him dying esentially
(Here is where honestly I'm not quite sure of what happens)
It appears there are 2 FOUR AIs (they act as diferent characters altogether)
The mission control one that gives you missions and the dominator part
Mission control openly refers to the other as the dominator . The other four AI is in red , the color used for your opponent
It doesn't appear that both fours merged at the end
@@isauldron4337 If you play into Grief implying that the Dominator is a God-like entity, then its possible that Four, an extension of the Dominator is similar. She's omnipresent. She's both with you and Grief separately at the same time. because at the end of the day, the winner takes all.

I think the star theme fits more with the providence from seed (and the legacy) and the pilots were both mad idealists who used conflict and strife to fuel their endgame.

I usually bring rifles, but I had a zook as one of my arms. I ran out of ammo and figured out the katana I used for backup the whole game but actually stupidly good here.
@@arsarma1808 Yeah, over the course of the game, I never really found (melee) weapons better than that starter one.
Reawakening a year old comment
Well, I realized that a properly timed throw using the energy cells in the boss fight can deal so much damage at it when you aim at the weak spot
I just used a very fast and durable build and just chuck every single energy cell at the Dominator
During my final battle and it was my first final battle. I have some two different set rifles. 2 Grim Reaper mk3 and 2 Astraeous mk2 and a missile launcher that shoots 12 missiles Everytime I fully locked on. I went all out wasting all the ammo and missiles. Try to deal as much damage as possible at close range and not to get hit by the spin attack, lasers, and gravitational pull. and finished at 4 mins time. When the Dominator use gravitational pull, I tried to circle around it and do critical damage while avoiding getting pulled in.

Probably not, but those of us who are raving about a bath in Tahiti tend to be a lot more vocal about it
People saying how they run out of ammo fighting this thing but clearly this is the perfect OST to spamming the dual wielding cross slash and not get hit by anything cause of the boss' hilarious blindspot.

All those combat skills you've been working on the entire game? Yeah, you're just gonna get wrecked using those against this boss. Just throw these bombs we're not going to tell you about to win.
hard disagree, if you come in with the right weapons and make use of their optimal range you can make quick work of this boss without the hidden bombs.
Combat skills? I forgotten those exist. Maybe because I beaten the game without any modifications to my body. Since the producer said he was going to be playing without modifications and I was a fan of his work before, I just followed his lead lol.
