Beautiful tribute to Larry Shinoda's styling. Thank you Mr Magnante and High Octane Classics - can't put into words how great it is to see our man back! ~ Chuck
What a beauty! I greatly admire the attention to detail on this tribute, which is very nicely done. Love seeing and hearing you nearly every day with these High Octane vids Steve. You keep all the details I know about muscle cars relevant and teach me new facts so I can bore my friends and family. Thank you for that, brother! I've been reading your Hotrod articles and watching you on TV/internet for 30 years, and hope to for another 30.
Mr. B. Here ! 🍩☕️👀😎👍. Professor Steve is holding class 🍎✏️📓📐🎓 very interesting & informative to those who did not see these vehicles on the street in their day ! Thank you Professor Steve 🍎✏️📓📐🎓
Hey Brother Steve, We thank God for answering our prayers for you! You're sounding good and gained some weight back again. Sounding like the automotive treasure of history knowledge that we all know and love!
Back in 1974, just out of high school the year before, I was shopping for a Mustang. Found a Boss 302 with ~30K miles. The guy wanted $2300 for it but I just couldn’t swing it. Ended up with a ‘70 Mustang Mach 1 with a 4-speed - 351c with 50K on the clock for $1800. Should have tried a little harder for the Boss…however I was attending Junior College and working part time earning a whopping $1.75 / hour as a delivery driver at a TV and Appliance store. Still had fun with the Mach 1 😀👍🏼
Awesome car love it. The engines appears to a 351 Cleveland not a 302 or Boss 302. you tell by the location of the thermostat housing. on a 351C it's located on the engine block. on the 302 or Boss 302 it's on the intake manifold.
The boss 302 is a 4 bolt main solid lifter/cam 302 with the Cleveland 351 4V heads. The valves were so big (bigger than BBC heads) that the Boss 302 was a little bit weak down low in the rpm range
My dear friend bought a 70 boss 302 in the later 70s that was as new. l remember he named it Mary after the mary tyler moore show. People now wont get that reference but even tho l had Camaros then and an AMX that car was wicked and respected by my dad as well when it was still somewhat factory fresh.
How did the hood shaker work in terms if the car was caught out in the rain? How did the water get channeled so it wouldn't make its way into the carburetor? Or was it sealed just really well?
Unfortunately the motor in this car is a 351C not a Boss 302. The Boss 302 did use slightly modded 351C heads BUT the upper radiator hose on this motor goes into the block as does the 351C. The Boss 302 had the upper radiator hose going into the intake manifold same as any windsor motor. A bit disappointed that Steve would feature a Fake Boss 302 and not know that it has a 351C in it not a Boss 302 motor.
I will never understand why the rear wing or spoiler is pointed up at the front, which will lift the rear end up at speed instead of increasing traction to the rear tires. Trans- Am race cars would tilt the rear wing down towards the front of the car to help get the power to the track!

The boss is back. Thanks Steve.
70’s my favorite.
My absolute favorite car. Had a model of it when I was 11. Looking great Steve...!
Nice build without the crazy expense of a real Boss 302. Good job Steve.
So glad to see you looking and sounding like the Steve Magnante we all know and love! What a welcome sight.

Brings back memories from the days when they were new . Great video!!
Agreed those have the best looks.
1970 was the last year gen 1 I liked. Nice tribute, well done. 👍
Not a big Mustang fan but the 69 and 70 Boss 302 is pretty damn cool.
Hey Brother Steve, We thank God for answering our prayers for you! You're sounding good and gained some weight back again. Sounding like the automotive treasure of history knowledge that we all know and love!

Amazing car in an amazing color.
Thank you Steve
What a car! Unbelievable
The Boss is back ! There is also a red boss beside him.
Sounding great and i don't mean just the specs of the car, Steve!

That would look great beside my race red 2017 gt premium that is striped just like that one
Looking good, buddy! The steps you took looked good, much more fluid and confident.
Do you need more donations?
NIce ride, gotta spippy up that rear interior light at 3:57 Small potatoes!
Steve shows us some of the most desirable cars on the planet.
Great video Steve what would the be the value of this gem
Steve!
Nice Sportsroof, but those Cleveland heads are on a 351 Cleveland block... not a Windsor 302.
How did the hood shaker work in terms if the car was caught out in the rain? How did the water get channeled so it wouldn't make its way into the carburetor? Or was it sealed just really well?
Go Steve Go

You should follow this up with the 1969 Z/28 for they we’re both built to achieve the same end game…
The engine is a 351 Cleveland.
Boss 302 was the testbed for the later 351C the most miss understood high performance engine. Better than the boss 429 based on the 385 series 429
😎👍
Why does the spoiler look like it’s backwards or tipped the complete wrong way to provide any downforce?
What was the stock hp, torque, and weight of those things?
Hi Steve was the boss 302 like the Cleveland type engine or like the Windsor type?
Windsor 4-bolt main block. Cleveland heads. Later FORD race engines were patterned after this. Known as "Cleavors." Very successful.
Hello.
Went to school with a girl who had a black 302 Boss 1970 that her uncle bought new and she sold it for 8k in 1988 ... who knew

No VIN, can't win, and no tag can't brag.
when I was a boy a friend's older brother had once of these that he bought brand new. Sadly at age 19 he shot himself
I wish I'm was an American.
Steve- I want you to get acupuncture to treat your finger jam. If you are willing, I will contribute more to make this happen.
Those Fords are so sexy looking!! the worst styling was Mopar those cars were just ugly
pay extra for ac.
I do not like those stripes.
Nice review, but I wish you would talk slower, little hard to follow sometimes
