Then again, I think my luck is wack with this game because I somehow managed to catch a shiny Paras while just trying not to get spotted by the alpha Parasect before even attempting Kleavor. just a heads up, Happiny can spawn inside the cave as well with the machop in there. That's where I caught mine. And it was WELL before I was out of the first area in the story so it can show up early.
I’m so glad I came back to watch this video. I believe I was looking in the wrong spot for Munchlax. So this video helped immensely. I actually got a Munchlax almost immediately after doing one of the sleeping things. I managed to get several of them, and got it to Research level 10 pretty quick. And I also got another Shiny Starly and even a Shiny Kricketot during this process! So that’s neat. And I got my Pichu. Thank you so much for this video!
Came across Pichu entirely by accident sitting right next to a Pikachu but haven't seen any of the others. The wing line of pokeballs are fun as all hell...feels great snipping a mon out of the sky like that.
Thank you for this! Been trying to find a Munchlax for ages and within 5 minutes of searching after watching this, I found one and then an alpha to boot! 🙌🏻
I actually wound up stumbling across Happiny and Munchlax pretty easily (first time I went to their spawn points, more or less), but the one Pichu I've seen so far was my third-ish trip through that area and I didn't realize it was a Pichu until it was attacking me and it immediately ran away when I turned to engage it in a fight. At least I caught that Happiny and Munchlax. Edit: Happiny can also spawn _inside_ the tunnel. Just so you know.
@@AustinJohnPlays Serebii claims it's an 8.85% spawn chance unless at night (then it's supposedly 4.65%) inside the tunnel, so... I guess I got lucky! Depending on how much you trust Serebii's data, that is. Not sure if it's just compiled or datamined.
Love you Austin and thank you so much for the vids! I got super excited for chimchar and grinded almost an hour using this method with no luck :( I looked at some other guides and they recommend night time, where you not only find chimchar and monferno in the spot Austin shows, but also in the spot to the left where there is a berry tree right at the end of the cliff. I found a chimchar my third reset by the cliff using this night method, and an alpha monferno on the fifth reset in the normal spot. Edit: holy smokes I reset a sixth time just because I didn’t like the nature of my alpha monferno and wanted to see for fun, and I found a SECOND one in the same spot. After I caught it I went over to the cliff and caught a chimchar there too. Guys this method works it’s insane
Tbh this has been probably one of the best Pokémon games I’ve ever played. I just get sucked right in and can explore for hours. I’ve been playing the series for almost 18 years on and off. I ran into a monferno while riding wyrdeer.

My first encounter in this area was a Monferno. I just noticed that I haven't seen one ever since. And then after I started to look specifically for a Munchlax (which hasn't spawned for like an hour) I got a shiny first and then two more in the same window. And then I went on to find a Cherrim and found like 5 of them, one after the other, again, in the same window. This game sure feels like it's giving away candies for free sometimes haha
Thanks so much!! I read so many sources that said just keep soft-resetting and going back to the exact same outbreak, but this is the first guide I found that explained the advance system. Hugely helpful
Not sure if this has been mentioned/documented yet, but for anyone looking for an eevee, they also are a rare spawn by the pink flower patch down from the alpha rapidash, by the lower "horseshoe" lakes. Almost directly south of the rapidash area, close to where the "Plains" word ends on the map. It's vaguely near the npc out in the field. It's the pink flowers by the big boulders, between where you see a lot of buizels by the water and the bidoofs. Usually the area is full of bidoofs, so if you see those, there's likely no eevee. Just back out and explore again there. I've seen two so far there, didn't even know about the spot seen in this video!
There's also a spot where you can find gyarados near the blissy, but opposite the waterfall. As well as a staraptor in that first section. You have to catch them similarly to the togekiss
Your videos are so helpful! Thank you so much for putting time into these for all of us. I just started watching your videos not too long ago but I’m certainly going to keep watching for more of your videos to come! Thank you again! 😁
Thanks for this. I read somewhere that if the rare pokemon doesn't appear in the correct area then to just reset the map by going to sleep or whatever, but it never occurred to me that I should get rid of existing pokemon so the chain would move along
i like how i got all these pokemon by gimmicking that goat like pokemon and i got the chancy was because i had a satchel location over there and i kept going inside the cave instead of going ontop
Thanks, I needed this to get a lvl 10 record on a Pichu. You brought me good luck because when I went to one of the spots there was a shiny one sat there waiting for me. I fed it a couple of times then caught it. Only 27 Pokemon records left to lvl 10 now for the Shiny charm.
you might have found this out by now, but, as for your comment about the machokes coming to you and not attacking you, do nothing and just throw the red pokeball at it, watch it stay in there, doesnt matter if you have given it food or not, but, i have found that if a pokemon comes up to you and does not attack you, it WANTS to be caught, every pokemon that has come up to me without attacking, machoke is the strongest 1, so far that has done it, i have easily caught it with just a normal, red, pokeball :) ps, great vid and thanks for this coz i had trouble finding the munchlax, so thanks a lot :)

bro have you found the item yet? i’ve been looking for it since i beat kleavor
Thanks man you are amazing. Followed your guide for Munchlax and repeated steps for a good 10-15 times then saw an Alpha Munchlax. I used Berry once then tried a feather ball then regular ball without battling it. Caught it! Lvl 25 alpha munchlax.
I will say that for Chimchar, you can actually just get one for free if you do the 20th request as I believe it is a guaranteed capture if I'm not mistaken.
just a heads up, Happiny can spawn inside the cave as well with the machop in there.
Wow I was just doing your method to get the Munchlax and I got myself a shiny Kricketot😂
Same here!
I’ve been in that tunnel a LOT. and it’s never been anything but machop. So nice find!
You’re doing an amazing job mate. My wife and I absolutely love your content, particularly with this series 😀👍
Tbh this has been probably one of the best Pokémon games I’ve ever played. I just get sucked right in and can explore for hours. I’ve been playing the series for almost 18 years on and off. I ran into a monferno while riding wyrdeer.

Yeah!! It would be more beneficial and yield more profit if you actually trade on cryptocurrency I've been trading since the dip, I've made so much profit trading
I have seen a lot of recommendation about Charles Schwab, Please how do i get in touch with Mr Charles? I would love to trade $2000 with him💮
@Jason Frank
Thank you for this. Will definitely reach out to him now. Thanks again
Take it from one who has it and buy a house in Missouri and dream Wrangler with forex trade profits. I started with Mr Charles R. Schwab of financial education and he has been my handler and guider for the past years...
I ran across happiny inside the tunnel, hanging out with the machop, so I guess there's a rare chance of finding it there as well.
You have no idea how grateful I am for this video
Thanks so much!! I read so many sources that said just keep soft-resetting and going back to the exact same outbreak, but this is the first guide I found that explained the advance system. Hugely helpful
Bruh. Took me FOREVER to get that blasted Munchlax, but it was all thanks to you.
Cheers man
Not sure if this has been mentioned/documented yet, but for anyone looking for an eevee, they also are a rare spawn by the pink flower patch down from the alpha rapidash, by the lower "horseshoe" lakes.
I loved your videos and in my first play through on accident I found a monferno
IMO giving you a Skyrim horse almost immediately was one of the most fun design decisions they could have done. It was so enjoyable
Thanks!
Thanks for this. I read somewhere that if the rare pokemon doesn't appear in the correct area then to just reset the map by going to sleep or whatever, but it never occurred to me that I should get rid of existing pokemon so the chain would move along
I was having such a hard time finding Munchlax and he was the only Pokémon I hadn’t caught. I got him after 15 mins of using your method!! Thank you!
i like how i got all these pokemon by gimmicking that goat like pokemon and i got the chancy was because i had a satchel location over there and i kept going inside the cave instead of going ontop
I caught my happiny inside the cave actually! That was before I knew it was a rare spawn, but I had a feeling so I took it pretty cautiously.
Bro Austin John is breaking this game. Well done on all your recent videos.
Just watched getting eeveelutions as starters and this very nice guide just came up on my notifications.
I didn't even know chimchar was that rare, dope. I caught em while running around the area exploring early on
Awesome video! First chimchar I found was alpha. Soo lucky and happy as hell
you might have found this out by now, but, as for your comment about the machokes coming to you and not attacking you, do nothing and just throw the red pokeball at it, watch it stay in there, doesnt matter if you have given it food or not, but, i have found that if a pokemon comes up to you and does not attack you, it WANTS to be caught, every pokemon that has come up to me without attacking, machoke is the strongest 1, so far that has done it, i have easily caught it with just a normal, red, pokeball :)
ps, great vid and thanks for this coz i had trouble finding the munchlax, so thanks a lot :)
I feel like I’m playing through this game incredibly slow. I’m almost 10 hours in and just beat the alpha Kricketune 😆 I have mostly been exploring the areas and trying to fill out as many Pokédex entries as I can. Your videos have been a lot of help!! Keep up the good work dude 🤙
ive been watching since the sun and moon days and recently got botw and your videos have helped and i might get arceus so this might be helpful
I've actually caught mumchlax somewhere in obsidian fields up near the mountain like terrain. It kinda caught me off guard and was like ooo I need. I didnt know it was rare!
Not only did you help me find a Pichu after a day trying and failing but I managed to get a shiny Alpha Shinx in one of the areas you recommended. I’m in the post game and this was my first (non Ponyta) shiny so Thank You!
Caught a regular Pichu on the beginning of the game… knew it was rare after an hour cause I haven’t seen it again since lol
when you realize you found both chimchar and monferno without even trying while you were just exploring
I discovered that luxray and staraptor spot yesterday during the luxray outbreak, thats my fave spot for sure to grind in obsidian field right now
Thanks dude, I hunted pichu and munchlax and I got them both as alphas first try:D
happiney also spawn in the cave right above the heartwood. thats where i went to find them they respawn there too. its just close quarters so a lil more hard. i also caught a togetic out of the sky on a ridge slightly more accessible just chucking feather balls
Got them all, thanks for the guide!
2:03 At this very spot, I managed to find _TWO_ Munchlax when it was _raining_ . Either this was extreme luck, or they might show more readily when it's raining.
Not sure if that is the case, but I wanted to share this bit.
Thank you so much. That was a super informative video!
I flipped when I randomly came across a Monferno in some tall grass while I was hunting a stantler. Randomly encountering these rates is so much fun
So very awesome, thank you for sharing!
Whoa I got Alpha Monferno before i found this video. Didnt know it was so rare until i couldnt find any again. Then i found your video. Thanks for the tips Austin!
"Now your luck may be better then mine was for Munchlax," Yeah maybe it is since I not only found a Munchlax the first time I checked the area it spawns, I also found a Monferno the exact same way in it's area.
I wish I knew this earlier, I spent ages making my way over cliffs in the second area to get a togepi and training it up
Thanks Austin , used your method for munchlax and caught mine at night probably after 10mins of watching your video, maybe less? Good luck to those in the search as well
Thanks for this! It gave me the idea to use the togekiss method on the gyardos flying around, which worked!
This guide helped me achieve 7 stars before I even got to Kleavor. Thank you very much
thank you sir. Got Monferno and Chimchar in about an hour or so, actually got Chimchar within 5 minutes after watching haha.
Scared my first Munchlax, and two spawn resets later an alpha appeared. What are the odds! Thanks for the video!
Cheers Austin, I had to come back to this video to work towards my shiny charm. I found an Alpha Pichu, at the spawn near Nature's Pantry, and I'm currently feeding my Munchlax found over the top of the name of Deertrack path. After those two I'm up to 226 pokemon with level 10 entries.
I actually found my first one in the Alabaster Iceland's in the Snowfall Hot Spring, along with riolu, lucario, and snowlax, but I could never find another one so this had helped out a lot. Thanks!
Replaying this to prepare for Legends Z-A, gotta re-remember all this stuff
