      I totally understand the anxiety. That is why we have an 'open door' policy for our patients.
      Patience is the key. You will find the grafts suddenly coming through over the next 2-3 weeks.

    This has really shed some light on the growth stage period I’m currently 4.5 months into growth and was wondering why all my transplant grafts hadn’t come through. I’m still had some thin patches also in the crown, not many grafts at all had shown so yeah, thanks for breaking it down by saying what percentage will will come through as I was starting to panic

  • @Tsumi784

    I think the biggest misconception is that getting a hair transplant means you’re safe from balding, and the truth to that is no you’re not. Your hair can still thin over time, i think that’s definitely one of the biggest ones.

      @@tagada7 Thank you very much for your answer. Just another question, do you think that in that case a cure with minoxidil 5% only would be enough to slow down (at least) a "not aggressive " baldness. Because if it is possible i would try to avoid using finasteride.

      Keep an eye on that. Try the minoxidil. However when you start noticable hair loss that young (I did too) it very well could be a problem for you in your mid 20s. Depending on how fast you start losing, you should likely consider finasteride... if its really really aggressive then possibly even Dutasteride

      No. Grafts will grow regardless.

    • @gabelandy5253
      @gabelandy5253 4 года назад +3

      It's tricky to use minoxidil just for graft growth. You should really decide before hand whether you want to try to commit to it or not because your native hairs will improve while on minoxidil even as transplanted hairs are just starting to grow in. If you then decide after a few months that you no longer need to support the transplanted hairs and you stop minoxidil, you will see some regression of your native hairs. Grafts will grow regardless, but using it maybe gives you a very temporary boost in thickness early on that you will then lose when you come off it even as your grafts continue growing. So it may give you some false expectations if you just use it early on.

    Is it possible to transplant hairs on the areas of our head where we have lost 50% of our density and scalp is partially visible?

    With a hair transplant, you are simply moving hair follicles that are not affected by DHT to another area of the scalp and these hairs are going to grow for the rest of your life without any problem.
    But what you need to understand here is that hair loss is a progressive condition and your existing hairs will continue to miniaturise and fall out gradually. If you want to preserve these hairs, you will be on Minoxidil and Finasteride until you no longer care.

    Hair transplants are fairly predictable. First 6 weeks you look worse and your hair looks thinner given some shock loss fall out of even non-transplanted hairs. The next 6 weeks you get back to about your baseline density. After those first 3 months you start to see thickening with new hairs coming in. By 10 months you should have a good idea what your result is going to achieve.

      I am also waiting for Clascoterone ("Breezula", "CB-03-01") to finally come to market. This could become a very interesting topical anti-androgen, given that those alleged receptor up-regulation "problems" won't be problem afterall.

      No. The skin is the same. The issue with the crown is that it is a harder area to fill. The direction of the hair is generally in a radial fashion and hence since it falls outwards, it always looks thinner.

      @THEFIFTHDIMENTION in most cases yes, transplanted hair is from the back and side of the head which is naturally resistant to DHT the cause of male patten baldness. This is why you see people who have gone bald but retain their hair at the back and sides.
