Mike Cassandra Yes sir it certainly does.Joe Morello's Master Studies book is considered the Stick Control"part 2". Basically an extension of Stick Control. It has a similar theme and puts a spin on those ideas. Really worth checking out.
Highway Star he clearly said "has and will ever seen", and moreover Danny Carey is from our times. And there is a shitton of awesome drummers out there, like Thomas haake for example ...
Use all five fingers; the pinkey and ring should never leave the stick (a hard habit to break). At first most of your grip will be in your thumb and index finger, but as you get better ease off your front fulcrum (thumb+index finger) and use more of your back fulcrum (thumb+middle/ring)
If those of you who are hating on him would hustle as hard as you hate... you might be as famous, wealthy and successful as him...repeat after me...hustle, don't hate..
Those are extremely easy. I was the headsnare of my drumline, and parra diddles are my favorite and to me there very simple. This is stuff you learn in 9th grade. Travis your talking to adults, not 9th graders, show us something worth watching
Jenna, you are making the assumption that everyone begins drumming while they are young and in school. There are many of us who do not begin drumming until adulthood, therefore, making these lessons relevant. Also, I do not recall Travis making it explicit the age range of the intended audience for this lesson series, so, we should assume it is for everyone, not just us adults.
i'm not complaining or judging his technique, just pointing out his grip looks very tight for the speed he plays at.. that's prob why he has such weird sounding cracks when he starts bendin his wrist his warmup routines, good vid tho
I've never liked Travis Barker. I've always hated him so much, but I honestly respect him because I didn't realize he had really good chops. Regardless of how he may look on a kit.
He does an exercise "slow" then says "now sped up" and picks it up 1 BPM. Does he know what slow means? or is he one of those guys that can't play anything slow? A good teacher shows the sticking SLOW then plays it fast...not demonstrate it fast and play it slightly faster..
Had Enough 1st exercise he is at 110 then speeds up to 120. To people who have more experience a demo at 110 is pretty easy to pick up I guess, I'm not hating tho.
Someone said this is extremely easy for him/her. Well, I can't play those fluently yet. U were in marching band, man. No one gives a damn if ur the headsnare here. Travis posted this to teach, not to flaunt it. Looks like being a headsnare got over your head.
Nothing against him but he has bad deffenition of slow. Sorry but i mean when you play it slow i wanna beable to hear the grace in the flams clearly. Keep on drumming Travis.
See I actually am a rudimentary drummer, and he has good, chops, and knows his drum rudiments, but when doing these exercises that his taps and accents are not defined enough. They are all relatively 6-8 inches high.
Travis Barker can you please put a Comment on my video's I want to know how to get better at drumming I Want to know from a pro drummer zak on the drums that's my video .
still waiting on the slow parts
This.
Travis Barker doesn't know the meaning of slow lol
Dr Wackooo there's sheet music bruh
Still waiting
@@craigwilliams2405 Yeah... :(

So clean!!
i paused half way through his onnit interview to binge on a bunch of travis barker drumming videos. love this guy
his "slow" and my "slow" are way too different. lol
I am amazed at the evenness of those "Stick control" paradiddles at 3:30!!!!
You rock Travis. Amazing talent :)
All these can be found in a book called Stick control, every pro drummer has this book.
Got it right in front of me! Lol great book
It's intimidating when you first flip through it, but works wonders

Definitely, check out marching snare traditional grip technique and go from there.

the best drummer
his warm-up is more hardcore than what he actually plays.

AHahahahaha He actually has a really good technique! what are you talking about? it's not easy to find a drummer with chops that solid
How do you hold the sticks in your hand?
On a pad, I use my thumb, index, and middle finger
How to add on to the moves in this video
y la parte 3 ????
If those of you who are hating on him would hustle as hard as you hate... you might be as famous, wealthy and successful as him...repeat after me...hustle, don't hate..

and still spelling paradiddles incorrectly my friend
Steven Takeda
Not to mention the poor grammar. His drumming may be beyond the 9th grade level but her English is not.

This is how he warms up before a show, not a drum lesson.

+gospelplayer2 - General RAWR always expect that GUY who is a fucking expert on drums and has to find any excuse to give his expert opinion ^

Gotta keep consistent heights in that first exercise. Can't let the five stroke roll start at a higher level than the singles...
he is accenting on purpose.....
Nothing against him but he has bad deffenition of slow. Sorry but i mean when you play it slow i wanna beable to hear the grace in the flams clearly. Keep on drumming Travis.
Yep he gets crap from people, but watch this video huh, damn good.
I just started playing 4 months ago. Your slow isn't even my fast 🤣🤣🤣
See I actually am a rudimentary drummer, and he has good, chops, and knows his drum rudiments, but when doing these exercises that his taps and accents are not defined enough. They are all relatively 6-8 inches high.
That's not slow
Travis Barker can you please put a Comment on my video's I want to know how to get better at drumming I Want to know from a pro drummer zak on the drums that's my video .

Hmmm..slow? meth is a heck of a drug I guess
this guys overrated like he's good but not "the best "
butthole balloons underrated*
No he's (overrated) it means he has more hype than he should have for the amount of talent he has
he is my teacher.. i like it..
