just to make you guys aware, the cabling setup Sagar is using in this video is not necessary, what he is using in this video is an RJ45 cabling setup which are mainly used to connected multiple boards in major tournament setups. usually when you buy one of these boards, by default they come with a standard USB-C to USB-A cable which is intended for home use, and also does not require a power source, as your computer acts as the power source. to put into perspective the RJ45 setup would set you back somewhere in the region of £100 plus !!! compared to a USB-C TO USB-A cable which would be no more than £20. if anyone needs anymore info on this topic please feel free to contact me. i work a LOT with DGT boards both for my own home use, and for live match broadcasts i run for league matches at my local chess club. 😊
Hi . .i want to get some information . . We do have a DGT board but we don't have any cables of the DGT board . . Can you please let me know which cables are required to setup that board to connect it to a screen and where i can get them
Not to criticize but just a query, what technology are they using so that we cannot move pieces arbitrarly and board fails to recognize the position of pieces. IMO they could have used NFC to diffrentiate each piece from the other. This way we could use the board to even setup puzzles or for teaching and many other things too.
They appear to use RFID and individual pieces are recognised. However arbitrary changes are probably not accepted due to the software itself, which is recording the moves. Its probably adding or deleting only one valid move at a time.
I have a different e Board and the pieces each have sensors in them so the board can identify them. The board will record all legal moves but an illegal move is not recorded. However, it is completely possible to setup any position you want, then tell the board to play/start from that position. So you can make arbitrary moves, just gotta tell the board to setup custom position.
@@efrov Ahh, that is what I was expecting from DGT board owning to their such high cost and FIDE compliance/approval(AFAIK). Nonetheless if you or anyone has more details about DGT boards in this regard, I would really like to know abt it.
He connected too many cables.. i connect mine with just the usb cable that comes with the board. Also, you dont need to connect it to a power outlet bc the computer powers up the board with the same usb cable.
How the DGT chessboard is connected to CHESSBASE step by step, and I don't understand it. Maybe take some computer screenshots, take specific steps, take screenshots, and mark them with some arrows or hand-drawn, prompting the first step, how, second step, how, third step, how, so that more people can understand
