I could never complain about the price of fish when I see the investment of this boat and the hours these guys put in , and this calm weather makes it look like fun , but I know how scary the ocean can be . Great video 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I grew up in a Canadian fishing village using nets for herring and mackerel, lobster traps and long lines for halibut, cod and haddock off a 26' inshore boat with no hydraulics; everything set and recovered by hand. Mid 70's now and enjoy watching how you do it down under. Thanks for the content.
Thanks mate, my grandfather fished for lobster from a row boat hauling his traps by hand. They were hard men in those days. Dad was a trawlerman back in the days when they didn't have net rollers. The dried the codend up by hand with the help of the roll of the boat before using the lifting boom to bring the codend onboard. We have it a lot easier these days.
Breaks your heart seeing so much plastic in the water hey. When I lived at sea in the RAN some days you’d just feel sick the amount of rubbish in the water. Merchant ships form a decent percentage of that stuff but it comes from everywhere, mostly North as you’d know. Keep up the great content. 👍
Yeah I think the Islands to the north of Australia need to rethink how they dispose of their rubbish. Tipping it directly into the ocean is not a option.
Very interesting for us guys from down south, love how you describe what you are doing ,show a bit of the guys sorting in one of your vids ( if they don’t mind ), disregard once again Ive commented before the video is done cheers Great watching thanks TK
@@tkoffshorefishing My first job fishing was on the Star Fire out of Lakes Entrance, I went to his house and asked him for a job, he said, So, you farcking Vont to work for me! lol, we both laughed. next day I was a decky.
The ocean level increased by around 400 feet LESS than twenty thousand years ago, at the end of the last ice age. Land spring back and subsidence are still happening today, Mexico has been sinking since the ice sheet on north America melted and north America is still rebounding.

And our master and dictator, Trudeau wants to stop all that
Must be bliss for the boys working on those smooth seas..great insights thanks TK. Enjoy these blogs
Cheers mate
7:52 that TimeZero system is quite amazing
Yep that's the start of the wet season, you are correct it's only rain and it doesn't have soap in it so it's fine.... partially wash the boat down.

I hope the people who complain about the price of fish watch shows like this. Thanks for posting
It takes a lot of effort to get that fish on the table. Thank you
The blownapart gulf is good this time of year
What type of fish are you catching TK? Great weather.
Ill be in Darwin around Christmas to do some fishing. Love Darwin though others dont for some reason.
I really like the place, good people, good atmosphere
Have a good holiday
Thank you
Looks like the crew feel the crane is more work and headaches than it takes to just flip up the trap
We have 3 different sized traps at present which is a pain in the butt, they use the Crane on the heavier ones
Living the dream
you going to be at the Whitianga game fishing club TK on the 28th
Yeah mate, see you there
Hey TK thanks for the video could you tell us what your catching and what your target fish are for the trap fisheries please mate cheers 🍻
Hi mate, target species is Goldband Snapper and we get a bycatch of Saddletail Snapper and Red Emperor
Those oceanic white tips are definitely not a shark to muck about with 😬
For sure
Just found your channel, loved the content, will be subscribing. Shame about that rubbish . Cheers
Thanks mate 👍
It’s got me stuffed how there’s any fish left in the ocean
We fish sustainably under strict quota's
Who built the boat, I used to work for Mr H Fisher about 40 years ago.
Yes, it was one of his boats.

@ronralston3592 classic, Starfire is up in Darwin as well. Its now a fishing charter boat
Hey TK I’m not sure if you have mentioned it before but do you do any brain spiking or bleeding? Or just straight in the ice slurry
Straight into the slurry. I have always iki jime my fish but the company I am now working for don't want the process done to the fish.
If you go over the Fence what happens ? Does the vessel have to do customs? You get fined ?Wouldnt suprise me knowing the australian government 😂
You would get a lot of drama, that's for sure. Pays to stay well clear of the boundaries

No relation to Greta Thunberg lol.😅
Yes plenty of changes still going on with the tectonic plates moving around.
That rubbish is on a world cruise. . . . "Shit" is right. . . us humans are the experts at fucking shit up.
Fished 30ft waves in the Timor box it can be a nasty fucking place. Stay safe guys.peace
Yeah it has its moments, the beauty of TimeZero Navigation Software is we get very accurate weather information and its only 18 hours to Port
Sad 2 see all that shit rubbish in the middle of our ocean. Happy fishing bro
Yeah, unreal aye. No bloody excuses for it.
🤪💫
Where's all that rubbish coming from unbelievable..
It looks like Indonesian rubbish going by the labelling on the plastic bottles
You
Wow - more crap than I imagined - great view skipper
If you're not Australian, you might not recognise that the captain has a New Zealand accent
Correct, I am a kiwi skipper fishing in Australia
Hey TK thanks for the video could you tell us what your catching and what your target fish are for the trap fisheries please mate cheers 🍻
It's indiscrimenent... kills everything.
