After years I always find myself returning to this video. You did a great video here bro. I crave more intricate pikmin lore and scenery. The piklopedia always felt so ethereal. When I was a child, I remember I would stare at the honeywhisps and also the spectralids in the piklopedia. Their flying/floating, the sounds they make, and the lighting with the piklopedia music was just pure magic for young me.
Continuing on on that, I've noticed something. Pikmin 1: Save yourself. Pikmin 2: Save your company. Pikmin 3: Save your entire freaking planet. As you may notice, in each game, you work for something bigger. When considering that, I wouldn't be surprised if the main villain in Pikmin 4 would be a threat for all of PNF-404, koppai, and hocotate. If there'll be a 4th game. I'd be very interested in what the story would be like.
One thing on every theory on the Final boss is that they say it hates Olimar, and i totally disagree with this. first if you watch closely at the first sighting of the final boss he hovers over olimar and rubs his Space helmet with what seems to be affection, everytime he try's to leave he takes him back and does not harm olimar ever, his space suit is what actually causes him to go into sleep mode when he becomes stressed. What i feel is this creature was trying to protect olimar, keeping him safe and never actually endangering him. The first time you arrive and the Final boss notices you, and becomes extremely protective and envelopes olimar in a protective barrier to these unknown threats, and does not even actually attack the the characters at first like all other hostile bosses do. He only becomes hostile when YOU attack him, and steal away his precious olimar, becomes anagered very much so by this. Even when he catches up to you in the final battle, he envelopes olimar and acts to protect him again! After you leave planet pnf404 you can clearly see the Final boss become Sad or angered when you take olimar away and lets out a roar of loss of olimar. SO you see this plasma wraith has somewhat of a longing for olimar, Just like pikmin do when they find a Character they immediatly obey you and fill your every need, and worship you as a god, They protect you, follow you and idolize you. Similar to the Final boss. I actually think the final boss is just Overprotective of olimar, and comes on as a threat but truly he is a ally like any other pikmim, and not just another hostile creature on Pnf404.
What if the player caused the smoky progg to become a smoky progg? That the pikmin disturbing the embryo and breaking it open before it was ready to come out, caused it to just come out in not a juvenile form but a physically handicapped FETAL form, not yet finished developing, similar to how in Finding Nemo Nemo's egg was damaged and it caused him to develop a handicapped fin. It's possible the attack triggered the poison gas which only remains as a defense mechanism in their larval stage in case they are attacked by oh idk some pikmin. In the game the smoky progg egg is only available during the first 15 days of your arrival but after that it's no longer found. Maybe it's because that's when it is still developing, and on the 15th night it hatched into a very normal healthy mamuta and walked away.? Just something I thought while watching your vid :3
I absolutely love the theory of CandyPop Buds being a sort of juvenile stage of an Onion. Though I do think that connecting the Umibozo directly to the meteor, Bulblax, and Titan Dweevil is going a smidge too far. But I am willing to believe that the Goolix, the Water Wraith, and the...erm...creature in Pikmin 3, are indeed tied together. For certain the Waterwraith and Pikmin 3's creature are related, but I think much of the events in the prior two games deal more with nature than myth.
[spoiler] The biggest flaw I can see in the second theory is that the Plasm Wraith seems to be obsessively protecting Olimar as if he's the Wraith's child. The Wraith attacks Charlie's crew only when they try to take Olimar away. If the Wraith has a hatred for Olimar, wouldn't it just kill him the moment it gets the chance, just like it does as any other form?
For that matter - and, depending on the answer, this could tip this theory either way - why didn't the Titan Dweevil just kill Louie outright to begin with?

Never had i imagined something could connect the games in such a mysterious way. Being that this series is Japanese made, i'm not suprised they put some mythology in there. That main theory about the "Omebuzo" or however you say it was mindblowing. Knowing the whole story of Pikmin 3...this really does seem like a legit explanation for basically the entire series. Good job.
I am part of the pikmin wiki. We thought she could be from the moon. After all, a moon is territory of the planet, so she would be considered 'from Koppai', even if she was from the moon. But yes. She is, as far as we know, from Koppai itself.
And the shards that broke off the meteor became the beasts that roam the planet (Bulborbs, Wollywogs, etc) and the Water Wraith is the will of the meteor itself determined to kill Olimar off with the beasts as his minions. The meteor is a sentient life form wanting to strand people on the Pikmin homeworld so it can watch them die in the most brutal ways imaginable and the final bosses are also manifestations of it's will as well. It will not rest until Olimar is dead or it dies trying.
This is all just brilliant. I hope they make a Pikmin 4. The game should be more like the second game in that there are caves as well as purple and white pikmin. It should be the final game and it should once and for all reveal this crazy stuff they've been hinting at since the beginning.
I really think you mist another boss too. I don't know it's name but the final boss from the shower room of pikmin 2 would fit perfectly in this theory. It doens't care at all for the pikmin and only intends to kill the active captain. It's is a jelly thing and when it's dies his body goes away like the jelly stuf like the wrath's. That was my mistranslated error. I read the Japanese name of Koppai as Koppa-lee, and I thought it must of been the moon because it was on Brittany's profile.
Water Wraith is like the premature state of the enemy in Pikmin 3... I like your theory on the onions.. It did show pink & black onions.. Considering they were left alone till Pikmin 3 and adapted to machinery hosting... But the gooey species does take form of all enemies at the final stage.. When you kill them they ooze away..
i like your pikmin evolution process, that makes a lot of sense, except for the flower turning into an onion if no pikmin are thrown in. in pikmin 3 the roots of the flowers stay behind. Maybe when you throw pikmin in, in some way, the pikmin pollinates the flower, goes dormant, and sprouts an onion

The gummy bear. Or the so called Wraith. Is the endboss of Pikmin 3. In one memo there stands that Louie doesn't really wants to actually go on that tower? And in a little secret scene you can unlock there is Olimar making a documentary in that land where Louie sneaks behind Olimar and hears a weird monster noise, that makes him run away. The Wraith is like keeping Olimar for itself. Just like it loves Olimar. Also if it eats Olimar up, it turns golden. Just like in Pikmin 2 it turns Black.
Dazz led me here too! Though I'm kind of disappointed that you didn't make the Pellet Posies part of the stages of the Onion since they're part of the family too, so I made my own theory. What if both the Onion and the Pellets served how sex works, the grounded Pikmin should either evolve into a Candypop Bud or a Pellet Posy. This would make sense because the pellets are the sex cells, and the Onion would be a uterus like thing. Would this work? Credit should go to AttackingTucans' Pikmin LP
While it generally makes sense, I still have a question about your 'onion evolution' theory. Correct me if I misheard you, but I'm *extraordinarily* sure that when a Pikmin seedling is ejected from it's Onion, it *can* pass through the cycle from leaf to to flower before it ever gets plucked; so, theoretically, if conditions were met, the seed could eventually become a Candypop Bud [and later, a 2nd onion] while still next to the onion it sprouted from. ...But wasn't part of what you said basically that, in order for seedlings to pass beyond the simple three stages of leaf-, bud-, and flower-seedling, they needed to be out of the ring of the Onion safe zone?
I'm going to guess the Umibozu in Pikmin 3 is the final boss, since it is intent on keeping an capturing Olimar, isn't it? So it would make sense that it is trying to kill Olimar since that is an even more evolved form of the Goolix or the Waterwraith. Also, the best ending of Pikmin 3 says at the end of the narrator's speech "maybe it wasn't a meteor at all..." which fits like a puzzle piece with your theory... subbed, btw
THE ONLY PROBLEM I HAVE WITH THIS IS that in all the pikmins when u leave them in the ground for a long period of time they do grow flowers but any longer they turn back into leaves
I think a really interesting pikmin theory is that we all died from radiation from nuclear warfare because in pikmin 1 you get a radiation meter and it won't stop binging the war destroyed a lot of earths geography and mutated everything
His theories are interesting, Pikmin 3 can support most of his theories like of the Umibōzu, can be back up by supportive things found in Pikmin 3, during the chase; when the Plasma Wraith is after you when you are carrying Olimar, as you notice when defeat a bulborb, and dwarf bulborb, sherwings, etc they break down to the same material the Plasma Wraith is made out of, is it possible that the Plasma Wraith created all the beast found in Pikmin?
In Pikmin 3 the water wraith turns into a gold colored honey wraith, and even after you beat him in the ending cutscene when the ship leaves PNF 404 the Honeywraith tries to attack him, and when you get all of the messages from Olimar in the Forbidden Oak, he talks about being constantly stalked by the Honeywraith.
I am suggesting this becuase there has to be some way (other than red Pikmin) for the pikmin to survive low humidity & high temperature enviornments such as deserts or Volcanoes
That is true, but as you notice you didn't actually kill the Plasma Wraith you just injured it for a small amount of time in order for you to take Olimar with you, as you leave from the planet the Plasma Wraith can be seen angry for taking Olimar from him
While I do agree with this theory, the only flaw, although it could be a misunderstanding on my part, but when Alph seen the Red Pikmin trying to reach the Onion, He said "It's the creature I saw just now! Looks like it's got friends! And what's that thing caught on the branch?" Note how he said "caught on the branch" and while yes, this may be interpreted as it growing off it, I think that the Onion may simply fallen from it's last take off and merely crashed into the branch, having its flower petals caught amongst the leaves of the branch. But I do find the idea of the Pikmin eventually growing into an Onion flawless and a great theory!
At the time, we didn't know. No one knew, not even the Wiki. The game was out only in Japan for six or seven days, and it was July. But yes, it simply got stuck in the branch. Oh well! I'm glad you liked it!
I like the theories, and the amount of detail you put into it, but I did feel the content of the video was somewhat scattered. It felt like there was too much deviation from the core point of the video (I think it was the Umibozu?), which, while entertaining, I felt undermined the structure of the presented theories.

What if pikmin are baby onions? The pikmin are babies, candypop buds are adolescents, and onions are full grown. It would make sense considering that the flower on the flower pikmin's head resembles the candypop bud closely. The onion also makes pikmin.
since they are a goo like creature the plasm wraith itself could have been the meteors since it probably has shape shifting abilities and that the ship can't detect them

The plasm wraith is mentally breaking Olimar. It hates Olimar because he survived all it's attempts to kill him.

This implies that: 1. These two bosses were intended to related to each other and the Umibōzu, and 2. The Smokey Progg and the Goolix have no relation to the Umibōzu, implying that Miyamoto hadn't come up with the idea until the development of Pikmin 2. Coincidence? I THINK NOT!!

Wow nice analysis!!! But i think the red onion in pikmin 3 was actually stuck to the branch not actually part of it. It looked as if it was struggling. I don't know but i hope we can find more of the timeline of the pikmin series. ^^

The gummy bear. Or the so called Wraith. Is the endboss of Pikmin 3. In one memo there stands that Louie doesn't really wants to actually go on that tower? And in a little secret scene you can unlock there is Olimar making a documentary in that land where Louie sneaks behind Olimar and hears a weird monster noise, that makes him run away. The Wraith is like keeping Olimar for itself. Just like it loves Olimar. Also if it eats Olimar up, it turns golden. Just like in Pikmin 2 it turns Black.
Dazz led me here too! Though I'm kind of disappointed that you didn't make the Pellet Posies part of the stages of the Onion since they're part of the family too, so I made my own theory. What if both the Onion and the Pellets served how sex works, the grounded Pikmin should either evolve into a Candypop Bud or a Pellet Posy. This would make sense because the pellets are the sex cells, and the Onion would be a uterus like thing. Would this work?

While it generally makes sense, I still have a question about your 'onion evolution' theory. Correct me if I misheard you, but I'm *extraordinarily* sure that when a Pikmin seedling is ejected from it's Onion, it *can* pass through the cycle from leaf to to flower before it ever gets plucked; so, theoretically, if conditions were met, the seed could eventually become a Candypop Bud [and later, a 2nd onion] while still next to the onion it sprouted from.
...But wasn't part of what you said basically that, in order for seedlings to pass beyond the simple three stages of leaf-, bud-, and flower-seedling, they needed to be out of the ring of the Onion safe zone?
I'm going to guess the Umibozu in Pikmin 3 is the final boss, since it is intent on keeping an capturing Olimar, isn't it? So it would make sense that it is trying to kill Olimar since that is an even more evolved form of the Goolix or the Waterwraith. Also, the best ending of Pikmin 3 says at the end of the narrator's speech "maybe it wasn't a meteor at all..." which fits like a puzzle piece with your theory... subbed, btw
THE ONLY PROBLEM I HAVE WITH THIS IS that in all the pikmins when u leave them in the ground for a long period of time they do grow flowers but any longer they turn back into leaves

I think a really interesting pikmin theory is that we all died from radiation from nuclear warfare because in pikmin 1 you get a radiation meter and it won't stop binging the war destroyed a lot of earths geography and mutated everything
His theories are interesting, Pikmin 3 can support most of his theories like of the Umibōzu, can be back up by supportive things found in Pikmin 3, during the chase; when the Plasma Wraith is after you when you are carrying Olimar, as you notice when defeat a bulborb, and dwarf bulborb, sherwings, etc they break down to the same material the Plasma Wraith is made out of, is it possible that the Plasma Wraith created all the beast found in Pikmin?
In Pikmin 3 the water wraith turns into a gold colored honey wraith, and even after you beat him in the ending cutscene when the ship leaves PNF 404 the Honeywraith tries to attack him, and when you get all of the messages from Olimar in the Forbidden Oak, he talks about being constantly stalked by the Honeywraith.
I don't remember exactly what the quote was, but yeah, that would make sense, this theory is actually more realistic than you'd think
I am suggesting this becuase there has to be some way (other than red Pikmin) for the pikmin to survive low humidity & high temperature enviornments such as deserts or Volcanoes

That is true, but as you notice you didn't actually kill the Plasma Wraith you just injured it for a small amount of time in order for you to take Olimar with you, as you leave from the planet the Plasma Wraith can be seen angry for taking Olimar from him
While I do agree with this theory, the only flaw, although it could be a misunderstanding on my part, but when Alph seen the Red Pikmin trying to reach the Onion, He said "It's the creature I saw just now! Looks like it's got friends! And what's that thing caught on the branch?" Note how he said "caught on the branch" and while yes, this may be interpreted as it growing off it, I think that the Onion may simply fallen from it's last take off and merely crashed into the branch, having its flower petals caught amongst the leaves of the branch. But I do find the idea of the Pikmin eventually growing into an Onion flawless and a great theory!
At the time, we didn't know. No one knew, not even the Wiki. The game was out only in Japan for six or seven days, and it was July. But yes, it simply got stuck in the branch. Oh well! I'm glad you liked it!

I like the theories, and the amount of detail you put into it, but I did feel the content of the video was somewhat scattered. It felt like there was too much deviation from the core point of the video (I think it was the Umibozu?), which, while entertaining, I felt undermined the structure of the presented theories.

What if pikmin are baby onions? The pikmin are babies, candypop buds are adolescents, and onions are full grown. It would make sense considering that the flower on the flower pikmin's head resembles the candypop bud closely. The onion also makes pikmin.
what if the plasm wraith made the meteor, I mean it can create living creatures so why not a meteor?
since they are a goo like creature the plasm wraith itself could have been the meteors since it probably has shape shifting abilities and that the ship can't detect them
