I remember my first playthrough, I "accidentally" defeated Shredder. I always thought screen throws were just random because I was a button mashing kid. So the Shredder fight took me probably over 20mins to beat because I understood that screenthrows were the gimmick, but I still couldn't do em at-will. I just kept mashing throws at the Foot soldiers until I did enough screenthrows. It was probably my third time playing it when I finally realized the direction press for the throw. Good times as a 7 year old gamer with little access to video game info.
@@mr.voidout4739 To this very day, I have no idea how to deliberately do screen throws. I just try. Eventually, I'll get some. Hahahaha And I always called dibs on Don. I PLAY DON!! I DON'T CARE. Hahahaha
Bought this day one. Stunning graphics back then, Unseen at home. Even now its impressive, so colorful and detailed, not as good as arcade but still, one of the best SNES games.
My childhood man…. The excitement you got as a kid as this game loaded up… ahhh I wish I could go back! The feeling you got after you defeated the stage boss (the explosions made it all the more epic) everything was prefect! Leo/Ralph will forever be my favorites!
I don't remember how many times I played this game with my friends...one of the best snes and coop games and THE best tmnt game ever made - I have to try the new one
The Foot Soldier of 250 trillon BC was an excitable creature. Stoic yet unbecoming of itself. Their only known natural predator being the Mutant Turtle of 1987.
Maaaaaan..... The memories.... I think about all the quarters I spent back in the late 80's and 90's.... Granted this is for SNES and I had it but I think about the arcade version of the SNES games. Nintendo rules.
I remember goin to the arcade and this was there I use to love playing this game … they even had a little thing were u can sit down it was like it’s own little booth kinda like Jurassic park game
This is absolutely another one of my favorite games Tmnt lost in time aww it brings back memories and nostalgia it's great that you played this game it was so awesome 😎
I bought this off Amazon for my 9 yo cousin and we beat it together last month. Best feeling in the world beating a game you only ever ALMOST beat as a kid with the next generation. Turtles in Time is hard but apparently you can change the amount of lives you get and the difficulty in the main menu settings. Who knew.
I can't actually believe we used works like Cowabunga, radical, etc when I was in my early teens. I'm 40 now. Such a weird world the late 80's and 90's were for me. But I'd go back there in a flash.
I remember waking up early enough in the morning so i could beat this game before getting on the bus for school. Slash was the only boss i had any real trouble with.
I remember watching this game as a young kid in a crowded live arcade 4 random strangers playing side by side to defeat all the levels with the smell of popcorn and pizza. I thought it was the coolest thing ever to watch and play.
This is so much fun. Every Day I've come home from High School in the Early-Mid 2000's I either played SNES Emulator, or the GameCube, Dreamcast, N64 Console.
At roughly 49:35 there's 3 enemy foot soldiers and 5 of those snapper things plus the 2 players for a total of 10 characters on screen at one time (actually 11 total for a couple frames with an extra foot soldier half on the screen at one point), which is just hugely impressive to see in a SNES beat e'm up, and with no slowdown too. This might actually be as high as that count gets in any SNES beat 'em up!
The game was probably better optimized than many other titles. And it’s more impressive when you consider this was a launch window game where slowdown was really bad.
@@Darknight0681 It's also running in SlowROM too, so effectively only utilizing 70% of the SNES full power. Most tests have shown that simply switching a SlowROM game to a FastROM cartridge instead can yield a roughly 10%-30% increase in performance. There's also no black bars at the top and/or bottom of the screen too, unlike many other beat 'em ups on SNES. What a game like this shows is that the SNES was/is a lot more capable than some people think. And, really, any time slowdown is present in a SNES game, it's not really the console's fault but the developer's.
This was THE GAME along with Goldeneye 64 for my cousin and I sitting in my room. On cue when we'd get banished into the time warp flying down the tunnel (15:48) we'd yell, "MOOOOOMMMMYY!!!" To this day I'm not sure why...lol
When I was in middle school everyday after I got home, me and my friend had to beat this game again. I was Ralpheal always and he loved Leonardo. I just loved watching Ralpheals sai's spin around
I was obsessed with the first Turtles arcade game. I had the NES version and always dreamed of being able to own an arcade-perfect version. When Turtles IV dropped on the SNES and was damn near arcade-perfect, I lost my mind. My brothers and I must've played through this game 100+ times.
I remember as a kid going to Funcoland, the used video game shop, and this used game having big trade in value and retailing for double that. Basically knowing I could never afford to buy it. So this is my first time ever seeing this game.
Beating the Whole game with Jamaal, and CJ in 1998, 1999, and 2000 on the SNES console, and the Emulators when I come home from High School everyday in the Early-Mid 2000's.
Nice team work, you don't steal each others opponents, back each other up, and always seem to let the one with the least health take the pizza. It isn't easy to find coop like that.
7:42 Metalhead: "I'm gonna mangle you green slimballs" Ah, such perfect language localization, not nearly as bad as "All your base are belong to us," but still funny to see. This is still one of my most favorite SNES games of all time, though.
🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥 loves this at the arcade and friends house 🏡 we was too poor to have one of our own. Hated the level where you had to throw the bad guys into the screen
Boa noite amigão, outro jogão clássico, consegui completar o jogo todo com o meu primo quando tinha 9 anos, mas em Easy, kkkkkkk. Um abraço, se cuida e muito obrigado.
This game is legendary I remember 7th and 8th grade year middle school on Saturday morning I was at my friend house alllllllllll day til 7:30 😭😭😭😭 didn't have to worry about food because his mom was the candy lady
The throwing enemies into the screen was what amazed us as kids back in the day. Such a great game to play with friends.

That side-to-side smash, too...
It’s so cool that every stage’s music is a variation of the turtles theme

If only they made a sequel of this epic game, 30 years later... We can only hope... 😉😉😉
It’s definitely overdue we deserve a great TMNT game for next gen 🔥🔥🔥
back in the day i could not stop playing this game my mother had to use an crowbar to get my hands off the controller
I was 14 when I first played this game with my foster brothers back in 1992. Great memories!!
Neon night-riders is my favorite stage love the background music !
Ein Spiel meiner Kindheit ❤ Das gehört zu den Spielen, die ich mir bei der Switch Mitgliedschaft wünschen würde :)
This takes me back by beating the whole game in May 2005 almost at the NEAR end of the School Year 2004-2005 9th Grade Freshmen.

I liked this game. I used to play this with my friend.
Loved throwing foot soldiers into the screen butt first, then pausing "EXTREME CLOSE UP" lol
excelent gameplay, excelent music, excelent game, this have all the arcade spirit

The neon night riders level was in 2020, we still have a long way to go before we have anything like that!

I think the streets being so empty is accurate.
Everyone who had a snes back in the day had this game.
That OG !!👍🏾
Best turtle game hands down. This should get a remaster
It's re-releasing with the Cowabunga collection
A remastes already exist for ps3 and xbox 360 but the product was so bad that was pulled from digital stores
Donatello was always my go-to turtle since he's got the longest range in combat.
Nothing better then the 90s beat em ups
