The commentary made this otherwise great match painful as they never stopped talking OVER THE PLAYERS. You would think they know by now when you have two great personalities like this the viewers WANT TO HEAR THEM more than your stories about what you had for lunch, or whatever... There were many times where there were literally four people talking at the same time. You don't need 2 commentators for 2 players.
I gotta agree...they just kept overtalking the players...unbelievable.
1000%. I'm like WILL YOU STFU SO WE CAN HEAR THE PLAYERS!! So annoying and unprofessional.
They love to hear themselves, maybe they are narcissistic?
Yes, and when the commentators talked, they weren't paying attention, which is why the guy didn't realize that a 6 also makes a straight for Polk. The commentators were worse than worthless.
I appreciate the commentators for making the show enjoyable and informative with their inputs.
Fantastic Poker Go
Negreanu cada dia con más pelo, en poco tiempo parecerá el hombre lobo.
Wonderfull Royal Street Flash
Gorgeous Poker
Bruh what is this picture of daniel😂😂
Hellmuth vs Ivey anytime soon? Lol
Absolutely Beautiful Trinca
Great fold
Who won the match?
I love poker brother
Daniel looks like a completely different person than he does 10 or 15 years ago on poker after dark. Wtf?
I mean... what do you expect? It's been 15 years...
@@mortuc1lol that's not what he means. He's talking about Daniel being wildly insecure and having a ton of cosmetic surgery
how doy ou know thats what he means?@@daddyfuse50
Cash?
Looking forward to not watching behind a paywall poker as usual
i'd love to see a Phil Ivey revenge on Chris Moneymaker
Ivey revenge on Chris Moneymaker? What for? Moneymaker winning the Main Event convinced every schmuck in America they too could be a poker genius! As a result, Ivey probably made at least $100 million playing cash games during the poker BOOM which started after he was knocked out and Moneymaker won it all.
Suited & too connected. I like to think I would’ve folded too.
Curious, what does everyone else think?
The hair dye and spray tan is strong with this one.
Daniel colors his hair and beard??? Oh I mean his lugs and beard?
In heads up i don't really like that jam on the river. Easier to get away for your opponent as it's only heads up and find a better spot. IMO it's about grinding your opponent down to nothing rather than win 1 big pot
If you don’t like Doug jamming the river, then you haven’t watched Doug play enough. Doug has to jam here because he’d do the same if he had nothing but blockers.
1:53 doug has such a weird face when he’s trying to be serious
Dnegs just so much cooler
Polk wasn't necessarily trying to be serious when he went all-in, he was trying to look stressed so that maybe Negreanu would think he was bluffing.
@@Mark-rw3kw nah, high level pros don't do that kinda nonsense
Negreanu won the match. Anyone know if he will agree to a re-match with Polk for $400K?
No rematch :)
It’s up to Doug to see if he wants to exercise the rematch option
@@seantran3519 Here is what Poker News said: "Negreanu now has the option to cash out of the Duel, which would net him a $150,000 profit, or he could offer Polk a rematch in which, if accepted, both players would put up $400,000. As of press time, Negreanu hadn’t declared his intention either way." According to @karlmarx there is no rematch, and I just assumed that it was Negreanu's decision and that Polk was willing to do it, but I don't know that for sure.
They changed the rules, since Daniel won 2 matches in a row he now has the ability to cash out. That being said I believe he has the intentions of defending if and when poker go announces HSD V
This HS isnt that prestigous. The online match where they had 25,000 + hands is more accurate of skill
Why is he even thinking about the first hand? Fold!
Polk better when blasting several hands at a time online, Negreanu better one hand at a time in person.
Negreanu is a master
lol polk is for sure the better heads up player than daniel.
@@Nerdywr Naw. Google the Polk/Helmuth heads up live game. Polk is known for online, i.e. multi-handed simultaneously. Negreanu is known for his in-person games.
The announcers need to learn from HCL or The Lodge and stfu when the players are engaging in dialogue
Interesting to know whether Polk will call a turn-jam by Negreanu?
just do the math and you'll know
I think he must be planning to. If Negreanu x/r shoves turn its 56k to call in a pot that would be 130k after Daniel’s shove, meaning Doug would only need to win 30% of the time with his call to break even. He has 34% equity (which he will assume to be around since his outs are often clean).
Also, Doug talks about this often on spots like this where you don’t bet draws that would hate to bet->fold on turns like this. You bet some of your weaker draws here (naked gutters if you have them or weaker FDs) that will bet fold and your best draws that want to bet->call, while checking back the ones that would hate getting raised (like Kx clubs here). Because of him always mentioning that, I assume he must be planning to call a turn jam here or he wouldn’t bet the hand and would instead elect to just bet his worse draws and check this back.
Doug played that horrible. He had 34% equity which means 1 out 3 times he gets there. If he only got around 26k because he didn't get paid on the river that means that he could only afford one more turn bet in another situation like this. If he would have bet 20k he could most likely get a call. He would have won 46k instead of 26k and allow 2 other turn bets in situations like this where he has 34% equity. However, on a 2 that wasn't a club I would have shoved all in as Negreanu would called even if he was reluctant to call. Negreanu isn't stupid he knew that Polk was setting up a river bluff if he didn't get there.
@@erikdominguez6531 Given Polk's million dollar bluff attempt recently at Hustler Casino broadcast on RUclips, Polk probably thought he might be able to get Negreanu to think he was bluffing here and call him. Not that I agree with that strategy, but that was probably what Polk was thinking.
Coringa Teaser Fanboy Like Poker So Much
WHY couldn't it be the 6 of clubs????????????????
That would be even worse for Polk, I mean, Daniel would have folded anyway
Could have be a 6 of any suit to make a straight, a fact that the commentator seems to have missed. No difference between a 2c and 6c as far as Negreanu was concerned.
@@Mark-rw3kw im talking about making a straight flush....the average player can count the number of times on 1 finger where they made a straight flush, went all in and got called.........
Too many hands beat him. He can't call.
I don't like check raise on the flop by Doug. When he just called preflop. I don't know why exactly yet. Lol just paints a wierd picture.
Incredible Full House
Watching this makes me realize that sometimes poker sucks. Like no move feels right for Daniel. And it could’ve easily gone the other way. It’s just dumb lol
pwned
Dnegs is a decent tournament pro with a ~%20 ROI, and a PLO / cash game slight loser. Dnegs made his money running ongame poker sites pre 2007 (?). Polk was the best HU in the world for a protracted period. Polk chooses to no longer invest the energy required to stay on top. Polk's game is substantially better than Dnegs. Dnegs made his money running poker sites 15 years ago not from playing MTTs. Guy has some serious fanboys. Decent MTT reg, not a "crusher."
Wtf was the point of chasing your draws if you're just gonna fold when you hit them, Doug?
Is Daniel a chia pet
Live heads up Daniel beat Polk. Polk beat Danny online.
0:50 I hate the raise here.. why..
everything is standard here
1:27 wow hate the bet here.. Doug is so bad
?
Are you talking about the turn or the river? What's wrong with the bet on the turn?
nothing, he is just stupid :D@@Mark-rw3kw
I feel like checking & or check-raising would show that he's waiting on/expecting the club but the bet makes it seem like he's clocking daniel with a flush & trying to push him out before the river so he wont risk not getting the flush. What do u think?
it figures two GAYS in a pot.. may both devils ROT
Polk hasn’t missed a draw in years. Wait 5 years he will be an unknown like most dreamers
Polk was the best heads up player in the world about a decade ago. He crushed sauce123 in a heads up challenge when sauce123 was also one of the best. Since then he’s pretty much retired from trying to be an elite player and his income comes from his businesses. So he will definitely be around in 5 years if he wants to be.
Commentator is confused. Any 2 or 6 would have done the trick, not just any 2. Of course, any club would have done the trick also.
He's saying a 2 would have won him the hand and it didn't need to be a club, not that those are the only cards that would have won.
It's actually you who is confused
Commentator was trying to say Daniel would call if it was 2s 2h 2d, but unlikely to call if it was the 2c. This was confirmed by Daniel himself!
@@MrElephantBeach He did say that a non-club deuce would have been preferred, but right before that he said "any deuce or club would have done the trick" and did not mention that any 6 would also have done the trick. Go back and listen.
@@linusboyz Yes, that is one thing he was saying. But he also said that any deuce would have done the trick, and didn't mention that a 6 would have done it also. But regardless, any idiot could see that a 2 or 6 would give Polk the hand, but that any club might scare off Negreanu if Polk went all-in. Obvioiusly, Polk was trying to make it look like a bluff, but that didn't work, and eventually Negreanu won the match.
Never slow play top pair on flop. Must overbet big time every time to clear away draws. He didn't do that.
If you do that EVERY time it would be so easy to play against you
You think people are folding their nutted draws on the flop to that?
Poker isn't dead lol
