- One night, Susan Lloyd experienced terrible pain in her mouth and later saw her primary care physician, who prescribed an over-the-counter pain reliever. When the pain persisted, she knew it was more serious but had no idea it would be diagnosed as stage-four cancer. She was referred to Rui Fernandes, MD, DMD, at UF Health Jacksonville, who removed the cancer and reconstructed her jaw using a bone graft from her leg.

My mother had a tumor on the floor of her mouth. It had not spread. But she had 36 radiation treatments which prevented any skin graft from healing. She lived 10 years and died of something else.
She was very disfigured the rest of her life and not able to eat very much.
You were very lucky!
I'm facing stage 4 ovarian cancer myself now.

Hi. How old were you? I'm 74, still work, and last April had to have dentures. My bottom dentures were very painful. A few weeks ago, I found a weird growth inside my bottom gum. I'm convinced it's cancer and will see my dentist next week. I am only working one day a week, and on s security with a supplement. I don't think I will be able to have surgery paid for, so will probably not be able to try and save my life. I'm really scared.
Hey I just wanna know how your doing now.
@@mariosorto2085 Hi! Thanks for asking. I'm fine. Staying home. Being furloughed from work right now. Oral growth was caused by dentures. It was nothing. How about you?
