Best there is and the best there was and the best there EVER will be .( ya I stole Bret harts line ) but these two guys here are the one and only best wrestlers ever will
According to the Rock n Roll Express autobiography, he turned down the World Title because it meant Robert Gibson would be fired and not return back from his injury.
I remember them feuding when I was in high school, Slick Ric & Ricky Morton. That was in the mid-80s and a great time in JCP/NWA altogether. Lots of great & memorable matches between them 2 guys👍
The reason Flair was such a better champion then Hogan was in the 80's was because you always felt like Flair might lose . You knew Hogan wasn't losing.
Thanks for mentioning the midnight express my favorite and best friend from Alabama Huntsville. Bobby Eaton. Those rock roll and midnight express were best tag team matches I ever watch still today
Back in the day ! Man ! When little Ricky Morton attacked World's Heavyweight Champ; Ric Flair in the ring and ripped his designer shirt, Flair's fury the next day when he cut a promo about it, was genuinely frightening ! I wish I could still believe like back then. Those guys were magical !
Putting someone over "WAS" the magic of professional wrestling. Making someone look better than you are like Ric Flair did was that magic in a bottle 🍼.
Ricky Morton was supposed to win the NWA World Title in 1987 but he turned it down because he didn't want to break up the Rock N Roll Express, Ron Garvin ended up being the champion instead.
I remember watching when Ricky stomped his sunglasses. Classic. Ricky said once that Flair mumbled “Stomp my glasses” and he had to ask him “What?” So Flair had to say it again, and he said he was surprised because they were $200 sunglasses.
I remember the heat that got. Especially, after they broke Ricky's nose. I think the very first piece of it, Ricky tore Flair's suit all to hell, and pinned him in the ring. And that really solidified the fued.
Listen, I don’t remember their angle going for that long. I do remember the busted nose in the locker room and the training bra promo but honestly who ever really thought that Ricky Morton would be the world champion during that time? come on indeed one of the greatest baby faces ever and a great Tag Team wrestler for sure but world champion.? I don’t think so. Love the guy in ain’t hating on him.
Ric was great but I like Harley Race better , Ricky Steamboat and lot has to do with a push the story line they put you in and who is in the story line your working with some had the talent never had their chance people holding their spot
Don't think flair is the best of all time I'll go for terry funk all day every day that dude did it all still moonsaulting into his 60s all flair did was chop chop chop upside down on turnbuckle figure four that was it nothing special terry funk did it all
Two of the best ever. Thank you both for all the memories.

When Ricky feuded with Flair, they made me believe Ricky had a legit shot at winning the title.
Two of the best storytellers in the business.
I thought he did..but gave it back
According to the Rock n Roll Express autobiography, he turned down the World Title because it meant Robert Gibson would be fired and not return back from his injury.
@@vincentesposito2076did flair say that?
Facts! In my young mind, he just barely lost. I remember it like it was yesterday.

So much respect for each other 👍

Ric had great mentors and he lived up to all their expectations they were all proud of him I'm sure.
I loved it when the fans went BALLISTIC every time Ricky Morton stood up to Ric Flair. :)))
Yes we did!
Ric Ricky 🤜👊👏🙏
I could listen to this all day and night
RIP beautiful bobby eaton.
early to late 80's Ric's work was top notch
Ricky has the locks still god bless him.

I was at Charleston WV for the 86 Bash and those two guys were in a steel cage. It was an amazing match.

That's a fact.. Loved Ronnie
@@bobnewfartSame here, sir💯
I read that once, Mr. Landa
RIP to to wahoo that man was a stallion.
I saw Ric + Midnight (sans Jim) vs RR Express + Flying Brian in 1990 at Memorial Gym in Hazard, KY.
i use to watch him team with greg the hammer
There is and never will be a better champion than Rick flair.
RICKY MORTON ❤🎉❤
I just love Ric Flair! ric morton is good too but Ric Flair is the measuring stick for all world champions to be measured
Beautiful BOBBY 😢❤
greatest seller in history "face in peril" was invented because of Ricky Morton
1:02-Hey Ricky…how bout Dustin McPhetridge!?!?! 🤣😂😂
Absolute Truth

Greensboro NC
The NWA in the 80’s was the best

And yes nwa Crockett was the game number 1
Best tag wrestler? I love ricky but that title belongs to the enforcer AA Arn Anderson.
That's Paul Morton's baby boy!!!!
Paul Morton had the slowest three count of any referee i've ever seen.
Where's the training bra?
Remember Nash obliterating Morton into a bloody pulp then giving him the double bird and walking off
Now that was fantastic
👍🏼😎👍🏼🇺🇸
And he supports SPURS!

I never understood the popularity of the Rock N' Roll Express. They're just 2 dudes with bad haircuts and their overall look is pretty bad.
Tell us you didn't grow up with mid south wrestling without telling us you didn't grow up with mid south wrestling. You nailed it.
