Never made the connection that it’s quite effective to feint slashes into overheads etc since most players are left clickers. Great video as always champ!
Another great video. You also mentioned previously to use overhead feint-to-overhead in past videos as a way to cover a lot of distance. I've been doing that a lot since your vid since for that purpose with fantastic results. I recommend everyone try practicing all the attack alt-to-same attacks for interesting results!
I use your technique to close the distance almost every time, thanks for that lesson. I also learned to counter thrown weapons into a feint while I'm closing the distance to someone who uses the throwing knives/javs, it saves the stam that would otherwise be used up to block the projectiles.
When I duel people I notice that they fient too often resulting in me landing a free strike by acceleration. My tip would be is to wait till your enemy fients for you to fient as well, of course this doesn't apply in every situation but I noticed it a ton in dueling.
This is 100 percent true and I will sometimes adjust to this against other good players in ffa. Feinting drains stamina so this can leave them empty handed even if they riposte.
People to this day get so angry about feints in chivalry 1 and I've never understood why. Its a mechanic built into the game and people are so completely garbage at reading it its crazy.
@@StridahsAngels no i know how, i have to hit block or cancel then press the same attack. but it’s harder to counter a duplicate feint attack when more than one button input is required on console you know what i mean? like sure they start with a swing then go into over head so i counter swing and simply press the over her head button to match - just one button. but they throw an overhead… into an overhead, i cannot simply counter an over head and then press overhead again. i’d have to now cancel my attack by tapping block and then throwing the over head again(2 button presses just to counter. just requires a little bit more in terms of reflex/timing so it’s easier for pc to abuse a console player in that regard. am i wrong?
@@corpsehall6776 I think you're right. What I wouldn't give to be able to slash into another slash direction on console easily like PC players. Ah well, I just make do with slash to overhead or vice versa instead. What's you're fave console feint combo?
@@MagogTheMagnificent swing to overhead or over head to swing ofcourse. stabs are the most unreliable on console overheads second, many attacks just drag right through or miss their sweet spot by a centimeter it’s silly. but i’ve started doing the swing into swing feint to start attacks it’s pretty useful just not easy to counter at all. i’m getting better at countering attacks into feint attacks like counter a swing then counter an overhead all in one swing. extends your counter duration.
I’ve only been playing a week and went into ffa and destroyed lvl 400s with the maul doing slash to alt slash heavy and they thought I was smurfing because I can counter more than a slash but I guess they never watched your vids lol

Is there a forum where I can find people to play with? I’ve watched a lot of videos but I feel like having a group to play with would definitely help, and I haven’t been able to find any outside of very competitive play and that is outside my skill level currently.
I still don't get why feints are effective. The game has a pretty large block window so any attempt to block my slash will probably also block the over head I feinted into. Or if the player decided to counter by jabbing it just increases the chances of their success. Only scenario I see it working is if they dodge and I then close the gap and hit them after their dodge?

What is the reason to use feints in Chivalry 2? In Mordhau we use it to trick your opponent into panic blocking. But in Chivalry 2 you can hold block so why use it?
Ik this is a month old comment but I’d also like to add that holding block takes up stamina and feinting an attack especially into a heavy attack means that you can force them to hold their block for longer, thus draining their stamina quicker.
I understand the concept of alt attacks but my Alt Attack key bind doesn't seem to do anything. My other alt attacks like alt slash works when i put them in seperate key binds, but Alt attack at base does nothing. Am I missing something?
@@FELTFELT I don't care about what my directional attacks are. I want to feint the same kind of attack when I parry someone. I wanna do stab into stab or slash into another slash without having into bind each one to a different key
You probably came across this by now, but the base Alt Attack keybind is meant to be held while you then click your normal swings to turn them into alt swings. For example, ALT + RegularStab = AltStab

there’s no Alt feint button on console/controllers smh. just have to ‘cancel’ the attack with block and press it again.
If you ask xabyss or Typer in discord I am confident they can tell you how to alt on control

Feints work non stop, experienced players will try and counter. If players just hold they will get disarmed

It teaches you in the in game tutorial! Start slash then immediately input anothe attack

try using the dirctional alt attacks. it is near the top in settings
