Muse, one of those rare artists that really cuts through the crowd with great, diverse, inspiring lyrics, melodies, and compositions. Glad they're around. There's not much that's even close.

It is truly one of those rarely most goddamn beautiful and underrated compositions of our modern times. Seriously have no fuckin' clue how they are not even nearly as revered as Radiohead, and I say this as one of the hugest Radiohead fan.
Let's be honest: Muse aren't as revered as Radiohead because they're Radiohead copyists with inferior songwriting. Muse have more style and musical chops (I absolutely enjoy their records), but when it comes down to actual substance, Matt Bellamy cannot touch the towering songcraft that Thom Yorke has exhibited (hence Radiohead routinely dominating "greatest albums" polls and critics' lists). Hop onto Radiohead's AllMusic page and look at the plethora of major acts who've cited them as an influence. Anyone not in denial can see why Yorke and co. have a more lofty position in music history than Muse do.
The lyrics tell the story of a person coming out of depression because they have recently found happiness from love, and they now wish to see their life through to the end.

I honestly was happy and love saved me. But then I found out she slept with a guy at work. And instead of sleeping over at her bestie girl friend, she was with him. She came to me with one garbage bag of clothes at the start of the relationship, and I threw her out of the house with 2 cars full of stuff. And then I knew if you can feel that amount of love for someone, they can easily give back pain in equal amount. And I was not perfect in the relationship. But I was patient, caring, loving and never got angry with her. I don't think anyone deserves the pain I went through. I don't even wish it on them. And the hardest thing was to let that caring and love go. Because you can't just lose that in a week even in that situation. Atleast she told me after this that I showed her what true love looks like when it comes from someone. But now I just need to find someone special enough to give this love.
This will always be one of my favourite Muse song and video clips. I love the way Matt looks and sounds in here too. It's so sensetive and romantic, but also kinda sad.

Just don't listen to their newer stuff and you'll be alright. After Absolution they stopped using their biggest asset (Matt Belamy's voice). Their older stuff really spoke on an emotional level to me but not after Absolution.
It's probably a good thing that you stopped listening to them, They became shit after Absolution. I still maintain that Origin of Symmetry and Showbiz are their best album and Absolution was pretty good too.
This got to be one of my absolute favored songs from MUSE, I would have it play at my funeral cuz it is appropriate for the person you are leaving behind until death reunites us again.

This song (along with Falling Down) was the first one that led me to rediscover something I'd lost: spirit, heart, dedication and devotion to music. Then, Falling Down was the first song that really managed to open my eyes. I got enlightened. My absolute favorite. I remember singing this song for my art class in high school. It was my very first time singing in front of people too, and I was really scared I'd mess up the arpeggio or getting a voice crack.

When I was young I couldn’t understand my parents who always said that they didn’t get the new music coming out those days. They always listened to old songs that came out when they were young.
