P.S I would say Melodifestivalen is way more important to Swedes than what Eurovision is (not saying we don't enjoy Eurovision but there's a difference). To cancel Melodifestivalen this year and just simply send the Mamas....nope, that just was not an option.
My thoughts exactly. The world could be ending and Melodifestivalen would still happen, it's too big a production, it's the most popular national selection!
Sweden would never just give the place to The Mamas. Melodifestivalen is the biggest program here in Sweden (even bigger than Eurovision). It goes on for 6 weeks and is usually the most watched show in Sweden every year. So just giving the place to The Mamas just wouldn't work. But I think it was good that they at least got to compete again. (Also, we take esc very seriously here and wouldn't want to send a song we've never heard just so the mamas got to perform again)
Yes its true. This national contest is bigger in Sweden than the huge Eurovision itself. What I like about Swedish entries ( Scandinavian in general) is that they really go for a good and catchy songs. Unfortunately, Eurovision has more and more developed into some visual show performances and lesser good songs. The East -Europeans are great when it comes to make good shows. Far better than Scandinavian performances. Tusse here had the greatest song this year. I really wanted him to win instead of the normal white cheesy singers.

I am so happy that we chose to have Melodifestivalen this year instead of just sending The Mamas to ESC, this song won Melodifestivalen and I couldn’t be happier about it. Greetings from Sweden and a close friend to Tusse🎉
It's the songs that compete in Melodifestivalen, not just the groups that perform them. So it's absolutely fair that one should not be given any special treatment just because it's presented by a former winner. :)
We don't send music videos to Eurovision, what you see is what you get. This was his live performance at the finale in our competition Melodifestivalen. if it changes in Eurovision its mostly because the stage has changed and a different camera team etc. :) You can compare John Lundviks song "Too late for love" by watching his Swedish Melodifestivalen performace and then the Eurovison one, its just slightly changed because of the stage etc.
One important aspect when it comes to changes in performances when a Swedish song makes it to the ESC is that Melodifestivalen allows all the back up choirs to be on tape. Even the soloartists voice is often doubled on the back track although the artist also sings live. Since this is NOT allowed in ESC, together with the fact that there can be a maximum of six performers, I don't know if Tusse will be able to have four dancers who doesn't sing back up choirs, as was the performance in Melodifestivalen.

Middle of the road, medium ballads etc. will not harvest as many votes. I think this may be a problem for Sweden. Tusse is a great talent, and - as always - the production-delivery is on a highly professional level. However, this song... falls a bit flat... The Mamas 2020 is my favorite among the two. Will 2021 be another shock non-qualifier for Sweden (like what happened to Anna Bergendahl in 2010?). Maybe the televote can save it. I just don't know...

I was sooo freaking happy when Tusse won and Eric Saade didn't! They really had me scared there for a while. Kinda feel bad for the Mamas, and everyone that would've compeeted last year, but hopefully they'll have more chances in the future. (Here comes a rant) Saade is in my opinion one of the most overrated artists in this country. Terrible singing voice, and he described his entry this year roughly as "something deep that hasn't been done before. Something from my soul." But it clearly was all about s*x. And I'm sorry but that dance he did was just the most ridiculous thing I've seen in a long time.... Would be kinda fun to see you react to it though. I get dizzy watching you move 😂
You're welcome 😉
Next year it's not possible for them cause they did 2020 and 2021 but maybe in 2023 :)
Are you not allowed to compete several times in Melo? They entered 2019, 2020 and 2021, right?
@@JarydReacts Not 3 years in consecutively (in 2019 it was just in background), the singer was John
@@axelserre6483 I see, but they can participate in 2022 as backing singers like in 2019?
@@JarydReacts Yeah of course but now they are too famous for just that i think :)
@@axelserre6483 of course, that's fair. I guess I would just like to see them back in any capacity 😁 excited for their return to Eurovision though!
I was sooo freaking happy when Tusse won and Eric Saade didn't! They really had me scared there for a while. Kinda feel bad for the Mamas, and everyone that would've compeeted last year, but hopefully they'll have more chances in the future.
(Here comes a rant)
Saade is in my opinion one of the most overrated artists in this country.
To see if you like it or if you agree that it's a good thing it didn't win 😅
Still i expected something more. I predict 8-10th place
Still a pretty great placement to have 😄
@@JarydReacts because it’s sweden.....
React Romania please 🤗🤗
Will do! 😁🇷🇴
Love your content! You're such an inspiration for me and I decided to start my own yt channel because of you! Do you have any suggestions on how to be successful? Maybe like how to gain the first followers?
Hi I coming from Sweden and Tusse are so god singer
My English is not good
Hi! Tusse is amazing, good luck Sweden 😁
Sweden is good i kan speke little bit Swedish hej its hi jag heter its my name is
That was actually good Swedish
I live in Sweden it sucks
Sorry you don't like it 🥲 I still think Sweden will qualify!
Im not sure that Sweden will qualify this year. The entry is very generic and in his semi final there are much better songs.
The only hype I heard was from Dotter, I was quite shocked she didn't win. But I think this song is a grower, for sure!
@@JarydReacts It might be a grower but I think this can be a shock non qualifier or a very low qualifier. Sweden is in the position just like in 2010 with Anna Bergendhal. By the way The Mamas, Eric Saade, Dotter even Charlotte Perreli was better than this. Sweden is one of my favorite esc countries and I dont want to offend anybody but this song is just meh.
@@BB-vj1ne will you shout if I say I liked Anna's entry..? 🤭 I was gutted that didn't qualify! Even if you think Voices is bad, you have to admit, Sweden's worst is a lot better than most countries best 😄
@@JarydReacts I loved Annas entry. I agree Sweden is very very good in Eurovision. I love Melodifestivalen. Im just saying that for the first time in a long time Sweden might flop.
Lets see on 22 May how your prediction will do. I would be surprised myself if Sweden do not qualify.
I’m surprised that he thinks that Sweden have very good songs, nah man play “baila baila” and ya know what I’m talking about
the song is nice enough, but INSANELY derivative and unoriginal.... for first time since 2013 I dont care how one of my heritage countries does.
