Handbuilding Pottery Techniques: Sculpture form, Newborn Chick HATCHED EGG

This video will show you how I create a simple sculpture by using basic technique in pottery. Also the different handbuilding pottery techniques of pinching, coiling, and slab rolling in making of sculpture. In this video, I will share a few tips and tricks in the production of the basic form of ceramic sculpture at the beginning of the FORMING process that has a less stable form and shape which is when the clay is still soft and not completely dry (LEATHERHARD condition) . The process includes the use of wad of paper inside the body of sculpture form as a secure bond and aiding in the beginning process of making the basic form. Usage of the paper clump will help for the formation of the sculpture in which the clay is still in the soft and not sturdy condition. Paper that is used in this production of ceramics is very suitable as the paper easily get burned and removed during the FIRING process inside the ceramic kiln while the clay sculpture will be harden and strong to accommodate the shape and stabilized the sculpture. As a result, the clay can stand alone.
Before I started to build the Sculpture form, I usually draw the subject to arrange the whole making process. I will begins my artwork with some idea, from here, a sketch, a draft or a plan. Once the idea is fully formed, then perhaps, work begins on the final piece. This is true of most artistic mediums- and often holds true within other sculptor too.
Video ini akan menunjukkan kepada anda semua bagaimana saya mencipta arca yang mudah dan ringkas menggunakan teknik asas dalam tembikar atau seni seramik. Dalam video ini saya akan kongsikan sedikit tips dalam penghasilan bentuk asas arca seramik di awal proses penghasilan arca yang memiliki bentuk yang kurang stabil iaitu ketika tanah liat masih lembut dan belum kering sepenuhnya. Tips yang saya ingin kongsikan ialah menggunakan gumpalan kertas di dalam bentuk arca tersebut sebagai penguat juga penyokong bentuknya yang tidak stabil ketika di awal proses pembinaannya. Penggunaan gumpalan kertas itu akan membantu untuk pembentukan arca tersebut ketika tanah liat tersebut masih berada dalam fasa lembut dan tidak kukuh. Penggunaan kertas dalam penghasilan seramik amat sesuai kerana kertas tersebut akan hangus terbakar semasa proses pembakaran nanti manakala arca tanah liat tersebut akan keras dan kukuh untuk menampung bentuk keseluruhannya.
Sebelum saya memulakan proses penghasilan, saya akan memulakan karya seni saya dengan beberapa cetusan idea. Bermula dengan itu akan diikuti dengan lakaran, draf atau perancangan proses penghasilan. Sebaik sahaja idea itu terbentuk sepenuhnya, maka proses yang terakhir ialah proses penghasilan. Proses ini juga berlaku pada kebanyakkan pengarca-pengarca yang lain dalam kebanyakan medium artistik.
