I have had to step in and tell my husband we were doing something my way because otherwise it was going to end in disaster. I watched my husband and my dad attempting to lift a 60 plus pound air conditioning unit above their heads onto a wall mounting set up. My dad had dislocated his shoulder two years prior and it's still a little touchy and he's over 60. They kept re attempting and reattempt and I watched them coming so close to dropping this thing. They had been trying for well over an hour. My husband argued with me that they didn't need to do it that way, that they almost got it. I told him know we are going to home Depot and getting rope. We went to home Depot and we got a rope and I went into the second story window and I easily supported the unit, spun around while I had the rope around me so that I would act as a wench and they easily guided it into place. We recently just installed a huge 10 ft Long window in the front of our house and once again told my husband we're getting a pulley system and we will winch it up into place using the car. I have had to step in and tell my husband we were doing something my way because otherwise it was going to end in disaster.

I finally stopped them and told them we are going to home Depot and getting a rope and I am going to go into the second story window and I will support the unit while you guys put it on the wall. They had been trying for well over an hour. My husband argued with me that they didn't need to do it that way, that they almost got it. I told him know we are going to home Depot and getting rope. We went to home Depot and we got a rope and I went into the second story window and I easily supported the unit, spun around while I had the rope around me so that I would act as a wench and they easily guided it into place.
We recently just installed a huge 10 ft Long window in the front of our house and once again told my husband we're getting a pulley system and we will winch it up into place using the car. It works so much easier.
