It's funny, when she makes videos about men's issues they're full of sympathy for men and animosity towards women, but when she makes videos about women's issues they're full of sympathy for men and animosity towards women
I contend that you're seeing things! I know you're not gonna listen to me on this and you're gonna think that the fact I didn't see "animosity toward women" in this video makes me "part of the problem" or whatever, but, look, I could be convinced! But it's very vague to say it's "full of [...] animosity toward women." I usually want to hear more specific criticisms!

@user-xp3hf2iw2h It has a jovial tone, but the content of the video is basically a screed about how women have made dating impossible because they don't know what they want and have too much power. They'd be much happier if they were at home with kids. She basically took every statistic at face value and in the least charitable way possible. For instance, that survey that said 30 something percent of men have never approached women, what age range was that 30%? What context was that disclosure? Dating has changed in the past 10 years. It is perfectly reasonable to assume that people prefer approaching people through texting or email for many reasons. Some people are sensitive and can't handle in-person rejection. Some people are very awkward, especially when they're around someone they are attracted to. The fact that Shoe hides context for her statements demonstrates that she has no idea what she's talking about at best. At worst she is giving men horrible dating advice that will make it harder for them to date and when they get mad that they can't date she tells them it's women's fault. If you've talked to women about dating, the reality is much different than how she makes it out to be.
Her channel name is clickbait. Not once have I seen a shoe on her head.

The silly antidepressant argument is common among incels. But correlation is not causation. Higher antidepressant use in women does not mean it’s a result of them being single, or even that being single equates to loneliness. It could just mean women are better at seeking treatment for mental health issues. Women also deal with hormonal issues like PMDD or PCOS which effects our moods, and antidepressants can help. I’m single and childfree by choice because it’s expensive and I like my freedom.

Their attitude also harms men by stigmatizing mental health treatment. A lot of those men are likely struggling with mental health issues, and could benefit from therapy and treatment, but that's not the "manly" thing to do. You're supposed to stomp down your feelings like an alpha male, and only ever show anger.

if my sister wouldn't be currently on period suppressants due to her endometriosis every time she enters PMS, she'd just get hit by a wave of anxiety and depression.
I don't ID as a woman, but born fem. ironically also an endometriosis case. before I started to suppress my period with gestagen pills due to dysphoria(and I'm genderless, so no T for me) during PMS I also had a massive nosedive in self-esteem combined with heightened aggression.
my sister more than me had and sometimes still has to deal with people not taking her serious. like I just had *male* coworkers tell me I exaggerate when the endometriosis tried to kill me, but my sister was called a drama queen as a teen when once a month her mild depression got way worse. like it's fucked up that the older sibling has to step in and take the role of the caring and supportive parent, because the real ones don't take it serious.
I know I'm ranting a bit, but man. I wish these things would be taken more serious.
btw I think it should be more common for people regardless of gender to actively think about if they are capable to care for a child. not just financially, but if they can actually invest themselves emotionally enough to raise a kid.
I know for certain I can't and even if I had the desire, I wouldn't pursuit it. that kid would just end up with severe emotional neglect, because next to being rather touch averse I also have an almost nonexistent desire for affection of any kind and I can't fake affection nor do I want to. guess that's just being an aroace who's also aplatonic.
I mean I said I took the support role for my little sister, but that was mainly just being there to listen, give advise and words of affirmation. maybe I was more like her personal unlicensed therapist.

I fell for the “women should compliment men more often” line when I was ~18-20 y.o. But I had to learn the hard way why it’s a terrible idea. To a lot of guys, “I like your shirt” meant the contract to fuck was already signed. Not all of them… but enough to make it a terrible idea. The wrath of a man who thinks you broke the fuck contract with no adequate justification can be bottomless.

I hate this idea that women need men to function happily. I've seen plenty of happy women go into marriages or dating life and get depressed even when their partner isn't abusive. There's a reason why you only see people on the right and incels peddle this idea. They dont want women to think for themselves.

Yeah, bosses don't like you being friends with colleagues, let alone romantic or sexual partners. This is especially true in the service industry.
I waited till my early 30s to get married and I recently had my first child. I spent over a decade being myself and figuring out what I NEEDed (such as someone who isn't anxious so that my anxiety is more manageable) from a life partner because what I wanted wasn't enough to have the happiest relationship.
Trial and error happens to us all, and it is important to finding the right person for each of us as individuals.
Everything Shoe is complaining about is not a female loneliness epidemic, IT'S CAPITALISM AND A LACK OF THIRD SPACES.
It's really hard to hang out and meet people in places for free these days. Activities cost money, going for coffee costs money, club memberships cost money and it's more expensive than it used to be. Community centres, village halls, libraries, and green spaces are underfunded, neglected, and often at threat of being sold off and built on if the local community doesn't fight tooth and nail to keep them (and they can still lose them anyway). How many of us have houses big enough to host parties in? Can you walk to your friends' places or do you have to drive or take public transport? Do you have the time and energy between shifts? A lot of these things are getting harder and harder.
The male loneliness epidemic is arguably worse because so many men rely on their partners exclusively for emotional support (and dating is getting harder for the aforementioned reasons) and believe they are hard wired not to talk to their bros about difficult stuff. They believe men only want to engage in activities like sports where you shit talk each other and never mention your problems. This isn't true, there are plenty of men who can be emotionally open and supportive (case in point: Jake!) but a lot of people are really resistant to the idea and really I don't blame them, it's rough out there.
We need to find our communities again, that's the answer.

So, the same old tired arguement on. Let's attack single childless women who are that by choice and are happy because how dare they be happy. I'm not single but I am a childless woman, it is so annoying hearing this over and over again how I am going to regret it and blah blah blah. Even my own partner LIED to me when we got together on him never wanting kids and him later admiting he thought I would change my mind when I met the right person... I have known since I was a little girl that I NEVER wanted kids. Ever. Period. I don't want to carry a kid. I don't want to give birth to a kid. I don't want to lose what little sleep I get. I already have serious health issues. My partner, like every single one before him, NEVER does anything around the house and having kids won't change that. So, more work for me. I have anger issues. I love my free time. It wasn't until I hit 30 that my family stoped asking me when I was going to have kids. Same with my partners mom, though she never once asked him when he planned to have kids. And my younger brother of 2 years has never been asked when he was going to have kids.
I can go on and on about the reasons for not having a child. I can't think of a single reason, outside of selfish reasons, for having a child. Not a single parent I know that had a kid, had one that wasn't selfish. Yet, I am someone how the selfish one. I don't think people know what that word means anymore. And of course most straight cis men suck. And I said MOST, not all. But those men literally think all they have to do is make money and that is it. They don't help around the home nor do they help with the kids. And a lot of women are realizing this, from older women talking about it and sharing their stories. That they are just saying, screw that, I would rather be single and childless than do all of that and earn money on top of that. It's just not worth it to women to get married and have kids at all. Men are the only ones who benifit from it. Married men live longer, while married women lives are shortened. Because they are literally working to death. Married women deal with more mental health issues than married men. Married women lose out more on money and time than married men.
On top of that, there are a lot of women and MEN out there who don't want kids for the same reasons as me. Then the other reasons are that they can't afford kids. Or that they don't like how the government is being. The dangers of climate change. All the mass shootings that are happening in the USA. And many more reasons. But no, none of this is ever brought up by people like Shoe. Not to mention, why does no one ever talk about men who never want kids? Why is it only women? I mean, I know why, it's just annoying.
Then there are the forums of women who HATE and REGRET having kids. Shoe and others like her never talk about that.

That aside 😅 the "faking being childfree" thing is one (of many) reasons I don't bother with dating anymore and just stay single.
Men will agree with you just to "say the right thing" then reveal their actual stance later in the hopes they can change your mind, like your mind is weak and easily changed despite being a lifelong childfree person (I have also known myself since i was eleven).
It is a firm stance for me too, I have no interest in having kids in any way way whatsoever. Don't want any in my personal life at all.
Another reason I stay single is bc I cannot deal with the extra work and baggage of a partner that doesn't clean up after themselves. As a clean freak it would drive me insane. Unfortunately it's difficult to screen for that, bc folks will be on their best behaviour for ages or hide it very well, before revealing they are actually a gross slob only after you have wasted a whole lot of time...

Okay so once I went out to a bar with my cousin, (this man was divorced I don't remember how long agonot relevant) at the bar I would strike up a conversation with either a pair of women or a group and just be casual about stuff and I would introduce him and he would say some nasty stuff like "you Wana see my hog" which is what Jake said and triggered this memory for me. I asked him "how were you ever married"

Pretty hard for them to keep female friends when they keep “fuck zoning” them. I never start any friendships with men anymore after the amount of times I’ve mutually cultivated and nurtured a friendship with a man only for him to confess after some time and when turned down abandon me and never talk to me again… there never were a friendship they just pretended to want to be friends in order to get close to try and make a move. I've been there myself. sunk even deeper into this state of misery, because I perceived my inability to fall in love and feel sexual desire as me being broken. I had an immense fear of ending up alone, partnerless and unloved. all while I had friends around me trying to be supportive.
I'm saying this because I wanna be clear that I'm not talking out of my ass. I'm not what's called a 'golden' aroace and this indoctrinated fear of loneliness and singlehood at some point had me far in the gutter that I almost ended my life over it.

I used to think I was sad that all my friends were getting married and such, then I grew up and realized the issue was I was tired of feeling like a third wheel and no amount of relationships with other people could fix my relationship with myself.
She may be using a different definition but, as far as I've experienced, approaching just refers to plainly talking to a person in order to get to know them better, with the prospect of a relationship in mind. Not flirting, just like, talking a little bit, asking if they're interested in talking more, etc. Usually involves getting a phone number or a social media link. It's a very reasonable and polite thing to do, not like PUA BS or other nonsense.
It definitely happens, but I don't know why. I've had people, almost always older men who I don't know, lean over and let me in on the secret that they find another random person attractive (usually in a very crude way).

When I was younger I was super cringy and all I wanted was a relationship. I had a few over the years but since I turned 25 and had a bad relationship (who I helped with a drug addiction, broke up and have been best friends for 6+ years)
I don't want a relationship, Im not lonely, I don't crave another human being like I did when I was a teenager, I just don't care for it. And the expectations? Not for me thanks, I'm self sufficient and self reliant, I rarely ask for help because if I can't do something by myself I usually just don't do it 😂

The real hookup culture was back in the 70s, in the days of cocaine and disco. Far too many adults are virgins these days for hookup culture to be as prevalent as it was back then.

Getting married doesn't have to be expensive, my wife and I went the court route. We are in our 40s (me) and 50s (her) and just went to dinner afterwards with her kids. If we wanted to do a big shindig afterwards or eventually we can, though we're both introverts so no need.

It is in no way surprising that for a few generations after marriage stopped being a financial necessity for women in the US that they want independence. I disagree with Shoe on a lot of things but this video is incredibly dismissive. Male and female loneliness exists, and it can't all be boiled down to "patriarchy bad". I don't agree with all her solutions but the problem does exist, and it is not just cringy incels.
You talk about how it is true you shouldn't approach women in x or y situation, but that depends entirely on what you put into the word "approach". If you mean going up to a woman and saying "Hey gurl u got a phat ass" then obviously don't do that, but if, like I see it, you view "approach" as starting a conversation with someone you find attractive, then I don't see the problem. I also think that is the common definition, which is why 27%, while a minority, is still a huge number of people who are not able to start conversations with people they are interested in. It speaks to a significant problem, unless you want to label 1/4 of the population as cringy incels
