They did the sit and reach test wrong. You're supposed to be able to stay stretched out when you push the marker for a few seconds, not just quickly push the marker forward. It's supposed to be a test of flexibility, not a test to see how well you can propel yourself forward while your legs are straight.
Also I remember the smaller the number, the better you did? I remember everyone getting between 30-40 and I got a 17 I think, and that's the only thing I ever was good at😂

I would just like to point out that I'm a 3 sport starting varsity high school basketball, baseball, and football player and I struggle to do 40 push ups lmao

For the high school female test, it was 30 push up for a 100%. So even 20 push ups got you a decent grade. I'm also pretty sure in grade school 9 you were allowed to do girl pushups bc everyone was forced to do gym that year.

Nsjsn Sens my gym partner is like super strong on lower body and isolation movements but struggles to do bodyweighted exercises. Stil fit and living healthy and considered as on of the fittest in our group

What about the pacer test? For me since I have asthma it’s like telling me that I should be able to keep up with everyone else while I feel like my lungs are being ripped out of me with every breath. It is the worst thing at schools even worse than the lunches.

Yeah I'm have asthma and my friends see me run at school so when we go to football practice we had to run for 2 hours(whole practice) if we weren't ready by 4 o'clock.
That sucks since you lose your breath and try to keep up but your body just cant keep up with everyone else. So gym teachers should understand that some kids can’t run as far as others due to asthma

The only time I ever liked the day of the pacer test, was when I had a broke wrist, so my teacher let me monitor the program, and I just sat by the speaker watching everyone suffer, and since we did it half the class at a time, while the other records, I got to watch them suffer TWICE.

it’s harder than this at my school. for the curl ups we don’t have people holding our feet. if we lift our feet or hands then we get eliminated. for the push-ups we listen to an audio that goes “down........ up” instead of quick ones. it’s much harder because of that.

They where all doing curl ups wrong, you don't have someone hold your feet. You have to bring your fingertips that are ON the floor up to the middle of your shoes sole, also-you have to go at a certain speed-they should've gotten the actual tape they use at our schools.

Going all the way up is actually easier, because as soon as you do, your stomach muscles are relaxing. If you stop halfway, your muscles are always flexed and working.
My teacher says it doesn't Count if you do that but I still do that 😂

i remember in elementary school when we took these tests we would also have to run the mile and one year i gave my parent's phone number to my friend and instructed her to call if i didn't make it out alive. another time, my friends and i decided to rebel against the run by all crossing the finish line at the exact same time.

I did that too when I wasn't doing any workout. I just walked after a minute of running and my lungs were burning. After 8 minutes, our teacher just decided to let me rest and just list it as 13 minutes.

Amanda Elle Haha, my cousin and I were in gym doing an exercise circuit (the boys ran around the outside while the girls did different exercises, then they would switch), and when we got to the push up station, neither one of us could do a push up.
I’m in highschool and I still can’t do more than five push ups. Though I can do 80 curl ups (that’s what the CD they plays goes to)

the flexibility test is unfair, because when you're younger you are naturally a lot more flexible
I'm still flexible and I'm 18...
I'm 30, can lay flat and touch my feet. I admit, I didn't need to train. But I know that it is possible to reach similar result with training. In addition, it is not because you fail at this one that you are not flexible. This one is just assessing hamstrings flexibility. The human body has more than 300 muscles, all with joints and insertions somewhere on the bones. Flexibility is more about joints. Count at least twice as much joints as muscles in the body. So maybe, you are more flexible somewhere else.
it's hard to do it without waming up and stretching before, you'll be less flexible with cold muscles
That could be applied to anything athletic in general like strength and energy.
I'm more flexible than I was when I was younger. Thanks physical therapy!
