I think it's ridiculous how schools don't allow girls to show shoulders as if boys will be like : " Yo bro did you see her shoulders , damn those shoulders . "😂
And how it placves blame on girls, like yeah we’re trying to seduce and distract them with our shoulders! It’s totally our fault that they’re horny ugh

Here's a little story: One year, when I was sophomore in high school (literally just one year ago) all the girls in the school saw the unfair rules are about ripped jeans for both genders, these girls for THREE DAYS or more, protested in a civil disobedient fashion by wearing ripped jeans that where above the knee and if they were caught, they'd go to the principle or be written up like they were told. Now; the reason why they did is because boys where wearing ripped jeans above the knee and no teacher or principal got on them about it, but lord forbid, if a girl did, they'd get at them for it and make them put tape over it. The girls would put up signs in the bathroom or sometimes on the walls to encourage girls to get into the movement and even if they were taken down, it'd be back there the next day. For three days, there were so many girls disobeying the dress code that they had to put them in class rooms and no longer send them to the principle's office to be talked to--the school was so overwhelmed about that fact that they had an emergency meeting the second day of the protest. Now, to my main reason of commenting this story: the school's response in all personal opinion was Irrational, they threatened to give the school uniforms, which would not settle well with parents and in worst case scenario, possibly make parents protest as well. The protest eventually calmed down because of that fact and the school of course, did not stick to what was negotiated which was making the rule equal for both genders. I found this movement so amazing, because I didn't think this would be happening in my school, even though I didn't participate. Moral of the story: the youth can make change, don't underestimate them---I'm looking at you U.S. High schools.
If you really want this to make an impact, have two male Buzzfeed employees try this same thing with the same schools' dress codes and see how hard it is for them to follow the code with their existing wardrobe. My guess is that it will be a lot easier because it seems many dress code restrictions revolve around women's fashion.
They would end up like every other office tho. Most offices have uniforms that are quite similar to dress codes (at least in the public sector). So they would wear their polos and khakis or business suits. Its' super easy, I do it every day with millions of other workers.
Polos and Khakis were the predominant dress code in my southern Maryland area. Each school (private and public) had kids wear khakis and polos with their school colors (mine were royal blue and red). As for business suits, a few upper-class schools used a blazer, slacks, and button-up shirt uniforms, too. Those blazer uniforms are pretty common in private schools and even other countries like Great Britain.
Uniforms are under very strict "dress code" rules. The dress code says: Shirt- Polo, Pants- Khaki, Hair- neat, ect... If you break the dress code rules, you get in trouble.
How schools expect boys to be like: "damn, look at her shoulders" "dude her knee caps are distracting me!" "Her dress isnt exactly 3 inches above her knee..I m falling in love.." What they are actually like: *m e m e s*
I go to one of the schools listed in the video and GIRRRLLL they really do make you wear those yellow shirts and red pants if you violate dress code lmao
I live in France and we practically don’t have a dress code which is good.I personally think these really strict dress codes are ridiculous ,If girls are wearing clothes that distract some boys then they should instruct those boys to control themselves rather then just restricting girls to wear the clothes they want to wear. And I don’t see what is distracting about a bit of skin that EVERY HUMAN BEING HAS.
Ruby Macluskie I go to the first school they did dress codes for and literally I wore a shirt that was fine. The twist was if I wore a bra it would’ve been out of dress code because my bra strap would’ve shown. And guys honestly don’t care if they see a girl they think is hot it doesn’t matter what the girl wears the guys will still try to hit on them
At my school, we goof around with dress codes, so if we see someone exposing their shoulders most people will say "Yo, I'm gonna be pregnant from those shoulders", "I'm totally turned on by them shoulders", or "I can't learn, I'm officially distracted from my education from those shoulders..." Like they're just shoulders!!!
I’m so glad this video was made. I’m a 13 y/o girl who expressed my feeling on Florida’s dress code (I live in Florida.) I got in trouble for stating my opinion on dress code, was told on by one of my best friends for doing so, and was told to “put my energy into something I could actually change” and if you read to here thanks for listening to my rant 🙂
I don’t get how a school can tell you what kind of piercings are acceptable. It’s so out dated. I’m an elementary school teacher with multiple ear piercings, two nose piercings and visible tattoos. No one even notices 🤷🏻♀️
People absolutely do notice, they just don't care. In fact, I remember being terrified of people with lots of piercings when I was young so I think it is great to have teachers who showcase different personalities and hence teach childrent to be accepting.
I always imagine a girl wearing a tank top last boys and them just like “Yo...did you see her shoulders?” “Yeah dawggggg her shoulders are Dooooope” “Ima go get me some shoulder” “Go get you’re shoulder man”
gama girl my best friend’s boyfriend said that to her (not in that wording but he said he got turned on whenever he saw things like her shoulder or stomach) 😂 he is the most ridiculous person that you’ll ever meet btw
It's generally not about the shoulder being provocative, but more about having an easily measurable standard that does not require staff to touch students or their clothing.
@@swell5043 that's what all the girls at my school say, and when I see someone being dress coded for off the shoulder shirts, I silently judge the school
My high-school said no shirts that show bra straps so girls in my school would either wear strapless bras, tank tops with built in bras, or they would wear no bra.
Girl dress code: you cant wear this you cant wear this you cannot expose shoulders. You get the idea Boy dress code: wear whatever you want have a nice day
I got dressed coded for wearing joggers that weren’t even joggers. They were just black pants 😂 I also got dress coded for wearing basketball shorts to gym but the boys were doing it no problem.🙃
the thing i hate about dress code is that if men, specifically employees, are sexualizing girls who are under 18, they should be the ones getting in trouble. not the girls who just want to wear some god damn clothes!
Honestly both sides are at fault. It's the girls fault for wearing something she's not supposed to and the guys fault for the obvious reason if that makes any sense at all :/
In all honesty that’s why I love having uniforms in Britain, it takes all that pressure away. We have dress codes that state how long skirts should be etc. So there are ways in which we can break rules and be told we have to change, but for the most part you throw your uniform on and you’re good to go
I like that we don't have dress codes or uniforms in the Netherlands. I think it's wrong to force girls to wear skirts which is the standard in most uniforms. and these dress codes I just find them stupid, but that is just my opinion. And yes, I think old man that look at girls like that are to blame but also the girls that were this, however look at stores, it is very hard to find decent clothing for woman and we keep brining tings like crop tops and super small pants into the media. that said, I think that it's not distracting I do think "some" man should just learn that they can't always get what they want and we should teach them that even if something looks nice doesn't mean they're asking for their attention. if they can learn to stay off of grandmas pie they can learn to stay off of girls. I don't see myself charging at a guy when he's half naked so I expect the same decency.
My high school FINALLY made our pervert teacher retire. My mother and my aunt also were taught by him, he was their basketball coach too. No skirts with nothing under them, unless they were long, he'd drop pens next to your desk if you wore a short skirt, no low cut tops, he'd stand behind you to "check your work" if you did, sometimes in front of you if you were bent over. Sports bras were recommended. I lost count of how many times girls would raid the lost and found for a hoodie to wear to his class. I kept at least one in my locker all year, I'd let my friends borrow when they had his class. We didn't have a strict school dress code, mothers, aunts, and sisters all warned us of this unofficial dress code for this pervert's class.
omg! This is so true! dress codes are clothing for females under the age of 18 and men can do whatever they want but girls cant wear a crop top, Like seriously.
Schools: You can't wear jeggings, you can't wear makeup that has less than a natural look, no ShOuLdErS..., if yiu wear something, it's gonna HAVE to be anything OTHER than Red,Red,Red,Blue,Blue,Blue,Blue,Periwinkle,Boys can't wear pink, and, you can't wear clothes. Also Schools: Why do people not follow our rules!!
Why do 95% of the dress code violations apply to girls. What about when guys wear low hanging pants and I can see 75% of their boxers. I have had to go right behind someone on the stairs who had low hanging pants and I felt uncomfortable and hated it.
I remember in 9th grade there was this one boy who didn't own any pants that didn't have holes and his holes were obviously worn in not made for "fashion" but he still had to see the teacher every morning to duct tape his pants and got lunch suspension every day for it. Wished they would have just gotten him a pair of jeans with no holes instead of punishing him like that. He ended up leaving school and going to a free charter school because he'd been bullied so much by other kids and that teacher with the tape who was really mean to him every day.
rules: No shoulders Kristin: Oh r u distracted ~*moves shoulders around~* do you not know math anymore?" Me: ~dies of how relatable that is~* Like what's ur point what did shoulders do to you?
I know why teachers hate spaghetti straps and why they call them a distraction bec when boys see them they think about spaghetti and stop at nothing for spaghetti
My county is being all progressive right now. They recognized the dress code is a problem and now we have no dress code till they fix it. The thing is, no dress codes, and people still dress like normal human beings at school! Trust me, even the girls have some sense of decency, contrary to popular belief.
lucky. meanwhile at my school, some thots decided it would be classy to wear jeans with slits on the buttcheeks and a thong...girls wear bandeaus and jeans so low waisted you can see their panties, plus their gross muffintops. dress code is rarely enforced at my school unless its girls complaining about guys pants or something. frankly id consider myself libertarian but ??? can they not?
Oh my I can’t do my math work right now because there is a female with her exposed KNEE CAPS! Oh and look at those lustrous shoulder blades! I just can’t control my self because that girl is wearing shorts in the summer!😂
Basically schools are saying to girls “forget your education cover up your body so the boys aren’t distracted because if the boys are distracted they won’t learn” but what about us instead of worrying about the clothes we wear just teach us
German here. My school does because it's a Christian private school. Many of those rules apply there too + no camouflage print and all underwear has to be covered up (boxers too)

even then it’s crazy stupid like in the beginning of the year we had teacher’s stationed at places like the cafeteria with literal rulers to measure girl’s shorts and skirts and it’s not even a nice school it’s literally trash
As a girl who just graduated from public school in Florida, this is so incredibly accurate. No shoulders, no more than three inches above the knee, no midriff, it’s insane. One of the hottest states and I can’t wear shirts that would let me cool off 🙄😂
Danielle DePaul but the boys can wear no sleeves and probably come to school without shirts and not be noticed but the girls can't even wear white, black or any thing sheer or short like it's just a slit of my stomach you can't even see it and I know how it feels cause I live in Florida
if i was a principal, these are my dress code rules: 1. no clothing promoting drugs, guns, or politics 💀 2. short shorts that are basically underwear are not allowed. 3. no transparent tops/bottoms 4. ALWAYS wear safety shorts under skirts/dresses thats it. just dont show up naked or in a bikini lmao
Okay like I get the first one with like the no guns no drugs no politics but I think some of the coolest shirts have gun and skull like designs on them and the transparent tops I hate them so much but I got this mesh transparent top it's like a crop top kind of but it goes to the waistband of a high-rise Jean and like you can wear whatever bra you want underneath and it just looks elegant but also it brings in that I don't care you know
My ten year old daughter has a dress code at her elementary school and isn't allowed to wear spaghetti strap tank tops. She was baffled and wanted to know why and I didn't even want to go there so I told her not to think about it and wear what she wants to wear. She's really into rules and wants to follow them always, so it bothered her a lot. It makes me so mad. No one should freaking care about a little girl's shoulders.
When my daughter was in KINDERGARTEN she was forced to make sure shorts were longer than her fingertips, no flip-flops, and straps had to be more than an inch... SHE WAS 5 YEARS OLD
I FIGURED IT OUT US GIRLS CANT WEAR SPAGHETTI STRAPS BECAUSE THEY ARE TOO DISTRACTING RIGHT well the reason they are distracting is because when a guy sees spaghetti straps he thinks of spaghetti and will stop at nothing for spaghetti
the dress code is literally a meme in our school. We would just see someone in the hallway with a bra strap slightly out we would scream AHHHH YOUR STRAPS ARE BLINDING
Bruh so my school has a super strict dress codes but the teachers literally never dress code me and my friends when we are together bc we're all gay and we always argue saying "we're gay and it doesn't distract us soooo" and they hate us but its fun
IKR especially that dress codes basically ridicule at least half of girls clothes that are in stores. Cuz do u see normal shorts below your finger tips all the Time when u shop?
I never understood how I was supposed to follow the dress code when all the clothes sold for teenage girls are designed to be revealing. The options were to dress in the adult stores/departments and look like your mother or get dress coded.
I got dress coded for wearing a dress that was more than 4 inches above the knee, we live in the part of Texas where it was over 100° constantly. Guys always wear basketball shorts, and hike them up way past 4 inches yet I get dress coded. I go home and measure my dress, turns out it was exactly 4 inches above the knee, huh who knew how distracting my unshaved scarred legs were
I'm not kidding the guys at my school literally walk around with no shirt on but the second someone catches a glimpse of my bra im immediately more distracting than a freaking asteroid
This is for teachers and principals: don't get guy teachers to dress code girls because one of the crazy teachers at my school(in Florida) looks girls up and down then dress codes them
Ok so I just noticed how all of these rules are targeted towards girls/made with girls in mind because these kind of things are the only things the fashion industry makes for girls other than kackies or however you spell that but guys can basically wear whatever they want because all the fashion industry makes for them is t-shirts and tuxes
Lake Minneola is our rival school and we had the same rules as them basically the guys also couldn't wear tank tops and their pants had to be worn around the waist surprisingly I saw more guys get dress coded than girl's. My freshman year a guy got dress coded because he wouldn't pull up his pants, My sophomore year a guy got dress coded for wearing shredded pants and another guy got dress coded for wearing a t-shirt with a woman that was practically naked strange but that's what I witnessed in high school
Technically the boys dress code isnt relative to them so they have no reason to read them except to compare. But all dress codes have rules for boys too. Definitely not as strict but some exist
My husband got dress coded infrequently but he wore tank tops that would let his nipples pop out, only when he'd be jogging in the hall and his man bits would fly out would he get coded
I go to school in Florida and honestly my school does not care. There are sometimes where girls push it and come to school wearing just bralettes or tube tops but I wear shorts and off shoulder tops to school. However, some guys show up wearing very low cut tank tops, showing underwear, and sometimes take their shirts off and nobody says anything. I have literally seen all three scenarios walk by an administrator and them not say anything. So, dress code is only made to make sure girls do not ruin the boys education because our shoulders are CLEARLY too distracting compared to a guy's naked torso :/
I also live in florida and like ive been to 5 schools here and the small schools dont care but the bigger schools are strict as hell and it's ridiculous
I was sent home for wearing a dress, that was at mid thigh, even when I had leggings on hah.. The reason remained: the dress was too short. That was the only time I was sent home, but I was salty about it. I saw a really pretty, skinny girl wearing a dress without leggings, shorter than what I was sent home form and she didn't get in trouble for it at all. I mean I'll admit I'm not very pretty and I am chubby.. For the longest time, I thought it was because of my appearance and weight that I got in trouble and she didn't.. maybe I'm wrong but who knows. It was 6 years ago anyway.
I've seen this happen to a lot of people the preppy pretty popular girls usually don't get in trouble but if a girl who is not all of the above has a 1centimeter too short skirt they are immediately fussed
Once I wore a dress with tights and AFTER school at a basketball game was told to not wear the dress again because “it showed a little too much”. A separate time I wore a pair of board shorts or whatever that came right to the top of my knee. I was told to go home and change, I missed the first two classes of the day. Once had to put duct tape on my jeans that a rip under my knee. Yet the volleyball girls wore spanx as shorts and cheerleaders wore skirts up to their chins. Boys couldn’t have long hair, no dyed hair that was “unnatural”, and jewelry was meant for girls. Way to suppress our creative freedoms.
I had ISS all day once and got a referral because my principal thought my dress was too tight. She sent me to the office and the vice principal was checking other students for the dress code. When she got to me she literally said my dress looked fine and to go back to class but as soon as I was about to leave the principal came back and told her it was too tight and to write me a referral. I was stuck in the ISS room and didn’t go to any of my classes. Funnily enough, that same week I saw another girl wearing a very similar dress and the principal didn’t tell her anything. The only difference was how our bodies looked in the dress. She is really skinny all over her body and i’m more curvy when it comes to my bum/breasts. I don’t think this was fair at all.
Kim If I went a size bigger the straps would be falling off. The lady who checks students to make sure their clothing follows dress code said it looked fine so I don’t understand why the principal still gave me a referral and made me lose a whole day of school doing nothing instead of being in class.
im in college and.... these dress codes dont do anything 2 prepare you for ur future. people wear literally whatever to class and when it comes to something formal like interviews you just wear a suit or a dress with a blazer or something like a normal person?? they should just teach you what different dress codes mean (like business casual and semi formal and smart casual why do we have so many names) and send you on your way
Right! I think schools should be something between casual and semi casual. Schools here say "dress like you're in a school setting" which means dressing casual, but appropriately. Which should be left at no clothing that is super short. All the MN schools really care about is that and that you don't wear hats or hoods in class. Other schools should be more like that.
I went to my average high school in my town and the dress code got even more strict when we changed principals. Halfway through my senior year i switched to the alternative school we have here and no one cared about dress code . Shockingly enough the only thing the teachers and paraprofessionals cared about was the kids succeeding in school .
You should do Texas high school dress codes. The security guard was always rude to me and even grabbed me and basically dragged me to the office once for wearing a cardigan over a sleeveless shirt.
yes! i got in trouble so much and i was dressed what i thought was conservative in my eyes ...i just dont understand why most of these pertain to female style clothing :(
When I was in high school ( Cambridge- Isanti HS MN) me and my friend wore the same outfit: white button down dress shirt, knee length skirt, those half skin half black out tights with cute bows and suspenders. My friend is a bit heavier set than I am and this old female teacher told her what she was wearing was inappropriate but not me, I called her out for her discriminating my friend and dealt with a week of detention from the dean for sticking up for my friend. Even teachers bully students and imo they should lose their jobs for that.
Wow i wish i heard you took this farther...what did your parents say...i hope they were on your side. Because how anything is inappropriate when you are covered up
I break the dress code all of the time, but I’m heavier set, so it’s like the teachers look at me and think, “Oh, she’s not going to distract anyone.” It’s like the opposite, so the dress code is really just based off of the teacher and their mood instead of the actual rules most times.
Oml so my school has a super strict dress codes but the teachers literally never dress code me and my friends when we are together bc we're all gay and we always argue saying "we're gay and it doesn't distract us soooo" and they hate us but its fun
Well when i was 12 or 13 there was a guy that literally said to the teacher’s face “yeah shoulders with spaghetti straps turn me on” so idk if he was being sarcastic or if he was part of the reason why we have to cover them up 😂
As someone who has gone through schooling in Florida public schools, you end up giving up looking cute and go for a t-shirt and jeans that do not have any holes in them whatsoever. You wear the same "uniform" everyday, and you do not deviate from it. I have two teenage girls that are currently living this life in a Florida public school, and it is a struggle every day to make sure that they are not dress coded and I have to bring a different item of clothing to the school. My youngest got dress coded because when the skirt moved it was too short. Why are they looking at teenage girl's bodies this closely anyway? What does this have to do with them getting an education. It is like the boy's education is more important than my girl's education because the boys "might get distracted." Teach boys not to objectify women and mind their own business and maybe the dress codes can go away. Or go to a completely uniformed school system, if "distracting" clothes are such a problem.
Women are just supposed to be ashamed of their bodies, according to like every school district. 14yo are just too sexy for those 40yo teachers to look away i guess -_- I cant wait until I can open up charter school!
Dude shut the fuck up you act like your daughter's going to school everyday is a fucking struggle, you should be happy that they're even going to school cuz people in other countries don't have that privilege. And I'm sorry but while boys should be educated to not look at girls, girls shouldn't be educated to want their tits and fucking ass and where skin tight jeans and crop tops and Daisy Dukes to school like are you fucking kidding me?
@@BlazingCorpse420 no, women are supposed to respect their bodies just like men are supposed to show us respect. A lot of girls don't fucking respect themselves at all anymore, since the beginning of time there been bitches that flaunt their shit to try to get men to give them attention, it's time for men to stop giving women attention so women stop flaunting their shit.
I'm a high schooler from Florida and in all honesty you wouldn't believe the number of students that wear sweatshirts, hoodies, and long sleeved shirts during the warmer seasons.
Fun Fact: my old high school didn’t put the dress code on the website because the principal, at the time, ACTUALLY TOLD THE FRESHMAN CLASS EVERY YEAR THEY DIDNT PUT IT ON BECAUSE THEY DIDNT WANT TO SCARE PEOPLE AWAY. THATS HOW INSANE IT WAS. The rules were: No shoulders no matter what, tops can’t go past collarbone, pants and skirts have to be down to ankle, no makeup, no piercings, no dyed hair (including natural colors, so if your hair was one color it had to stay that way all year) and no nail polish, no leggings, and no high heels. Yeah, that principal got fired for a lot of reasons, dress code being one
See in FL we do have strict dress codes like these however as the rebels high school bunch that we are, actually following them isn't our top priority. Neither do the authorities heavily enforce it due to the overwhelming population of students breaking dress code on a daily.
We didn't have these dress codes when I was growing up in the 70's and 80's. I mean, you couldn't wear hot pants or bikini tops, but other than that, they wouldn't have even thought about sending a student home because of her clothing. I can't even fathom having to worry about "tempting" the boys with my body parts when going to school. It's a HUGE step backwards for women and nobody seems to realize.
I am so grateful that I grew up in NYC, going to school with kids of every race and religion, and where girls were not shamed for being girls. It was far from perfect (NY was broke and the schools were subpar in most ways, not to mention dangerous), but I often feel like I'm from another country from the rest of the U.S. when I hear these kinds of things.
I grew up not far away from Lake Minneola High School and can confirm that dress codes are ridiculous (and this is the less conservative part of Florida!). My dress code was very similar to the Baker High School code and basically being forced to wear T-shirts and jeans when it's 90 degrees outside is miserable and demoralizing . I remember once I wore a sweater that sort of showed my shoulder (it wasn't even an off the shoulder sweater, it was barely noticeable) and I was threatened by my teacher to be written up for a violation and get in school suspension for it even though I was a straight A student who never caused any issues in class. It's honestly so ridiculous and even then, I couldn't wear half my wardrobe.
I’m really tempted to go up to my principal, point at a boy wearing a tank top and say, “his shoulders are distracting me.”
Summer Mae DO IT

DO IT! =D
Please do this would make my day xx
I've done that before. He didn't care, he just laughed at me and moved on
My high school dress code was just - in the words of the principal: “use common sense.” Should be like that at every school.
I couldn’t like because the likes are at 123
Same honestly
That is the perfect and only acceptable dress code
we only have a top uniform, the dress code is just to keep it appropriate

I think it's ridiculous how schools don't allow girls to show shoulders as if boys will be like :
" Yo bro did you see her shoulders , damn those shoulders . "😂
Also: make something a forbidden fruit and it will look even tastier ;P ...
And they would also say "BROOO did u see her kneecaps tho"

This is not a little story

If you really want this to make an impact, have two male Buzzfeed employees try this same thing with the same schools' dress codes and see how hard it is for them to follow the code with their existing wardrobe. My guess is that it will be a lot easier because it seems many dress code restrictions revolve around women's fashion.
They would end up like every other office tho. Most offices have uniforms that are quite similar to dress codes (at least in the public sector). So they would wear their polos and khakis or business suits. Its' super easy, I do it every day with millions of other workers.
DirectorxMizuki who wears polos, khakis or business suits to school?
Polos and Khakis were the predominant dress code in my southern Maryland area. Each school (private and public) had kids wear khakis and polos with their school colors (mine were royal blue and red). As for business suits, a few upper-class schools used a blazer, slacks, and button-up shirt uniforms, too. Those blazer uniforms are pretty common in private schools and even other countries like Great Britain.
DirectorxMizuki that’s not a dress code though, that’s a uniform
Uniforms are under very strict "dress code" rules. The dress code says: Shirt- Polo, Pants- Khaki, Hair- neat, ect... If you break the dress code rules, you get in trouble.

We have uniform we have to wear in the UK so ya know we cant really break it..
the thing i hate about dress code is that if men, specifically employees, are sexualizing girls who are under 18, they should be the ones getting in trouble. not the girls who just want to wear some god damn clothes!

You realised that just now? :D
Athena Jaxon One time this guy came in shirtless and no one cared but a girl wore a tank top and got suspended🤦🏼♀️
Camille Didulo lol my school a girl could literally just wear a bra as a shirt and not get dress coded.
I also live in florida and like ive been to 5 schools here and the small schools dont care but the bigger schools are strict as hell and it's ridiculous
The boys soccer team had practice eVeRy DaY sHiRtLeSs while girls get dress coded for ripped jeans like wtf
Creative Carrah I’m so sorry that happened to you! That’s ridiculous!
Creative Carrah you are not wrong they do that to everybody with meat on their bones
I've seen this happen to a lot of people the preppy pretty popular girls usually don't get in trouble but if a girl who is not all of the above has a 1centimeter too short skirt they are immediately fussed
If u had something under it then its not a problem at all
ugh stop throwing a pity party for yourself
Im glad im homeschooled!
(I can do my school in my pajamas)
Once I wore a dress with tights and AFTER school at a basketball game was told to not wear the dress again because “it showed a little too much”. A separate time I wore a pair of board shorts or whatever that came right to the top of my knee. I was told to go home and change, I missed the first two classes of the day. Once had to put duct tape on my jeans that a rip under my knee. Yet the volleyball girls wore spanx as shorts and cheerleaders wore skirts up to their chins. Boys couldn’t have long hair, no dyed hair that was “unnatural”, and jewelry was meant for girls. Way to suppress our creative freedoms.
girls dress code 4 paragraphs boys dress code 1 scentence
angel face The boys dress code is not 1 sentence! It’s words, *Don’t be naked*
Sunset Skies it’s a sentence: Don’t come naked.
Subject, adjective, punctuation, edit: verb
Here boys ;) I’ve got you some juicy shoul-
*DRESS CODE VIOLATION REMAIN TO THE PRINCIPLES OFFICE NOW*
*report😂
lmao. i subbed.
@ʈɛɠɑɲ ɦɑɾɱɑɲ I wasn't being a "grammar police" it's just a joke calm down
Very ridiculous. A shoulder is a shoulder.
Annarelys Zayas I wasn’t aware a woman was a hoe when she showed her shoulder
No one:
Boys: bro did you see her shoulders tho?!?! N
That happens SO MUCH
This happened to me all the time and was so annoying. Schools teach body shaming at a young age and don't even know it.
You should've gone a size bigger
omg I just had the same problem this week but it was with jeans
Yea, I like being in a state where only no hats or hoods on. :3
Preach!
I went to my average high school in my town and the dress code got even more strict when we changed principals. Halfway through my senior year i switched to the alternative school we have here and no one cared about dress code . Shockingly enough the only thing the teachers and paraprofessionals cared about was the kids succeeding in school .
Well this is America so ummm fuck off and leave?
You should do Texas high school dress codes. The security guard was always rude to me and even grabbed me and basically dragged me to the office once for wearing a cardigan over a sleeveless shirt.
thats fucked up :( sorry that happened
I remember I got in trouble for a short skirt even with leggings underneath good ol Texas
wow wtf?!
AwkwardAle that’s rude as hell. I’m a polite person but I would’ve had some choice words
yes! i got in trouble so much and i was dressed what i thought was conservative in my eyes ...i just dont understand why most of these pertain to female style clothing :(
I reeaally dislike having to wear a school uniform but now I'm kinda glad I don't have to deal with these _lovely_ dress codes.
Because how anything is inappropriate when you are covered up
Apolo Shadë my sisters go to Isanti and it’s absolute hell for them!
Not related but I went to Blaine in Minnesota!
I break the dress code all of the time, but I’m heavier set, so it’s like the teachers look at me and think, “Oh, she’s not going to distract anyone.” It’s like the opposite, so the dress code is really just based off of the teacher and their mood instead of the actual rules most times.
That is insanely ridiculous. I am so sorry about that. I wish the best for you and your friend now
Me: *wears an off shoulder top* hey boys! My shoulders are so DISTRACTING right???? *sarcasm*
Honestly though, who actually thinks shoulders are _sexy_
Oml so my school has a super strict dress codes but the teachers literally never dress code me and my friends when we are together bc we're all gay and we always argue saying "we're gay and it doesn't distract us soooo" and they hate us but its fun
Emilio Anonymous stfu holy crap we get it
WOW SHOULDERS SO SEXYY
A lot of girls don't fucking respect themselves at all anymore, since the beginning of time there been bitches that flaunt their shit to try to get men to give them attention, it's time for men to stop giving women attention so women stop flaunting their shit.
ok you can easily look cute with this dress code
Exactly!
Yeah, that principal got fired for a lot of reasons, dress code being one
wowwww that sucks
ANKLES?! holy crap dude! Was your principal Amish or something?
What about those people who get graying hair like are they gonna dress code them for their hair being grayer than it was at the start of the year?
May the Fork Be with you what school do you go to
Soooo, just the girls were being regulated?
Oh, are you distracted? Do you not know math anymore? I died lol 😂😂
See in FL we do have strict dress codes like these however as the rebels high school bunch that we are, actually following them isn't our top priority. Neither do the authorities heavily enforce it due to the overwhelming population of students breaking dress code on a daily.
Lmao this is so true. Went to school with ripped jeans, sandals and wore jewelry besides earrings and no one did squat
I can wear a tank top and Nike track shorts and pull them up to show my but and not get dress coded and I live in Florida too lol
I like in Florida and in my high school all the teens are scandalous XDDD everyone where crop tops and shorts cause it's soooo hot
Nobody follows them😂 I go to Suncoast and literally I’ve seen people in bras and remained unbothered by administrations
We can’t wear hoodies to school and this one girl has worn one like 10 times. I wear leggings all the time,
I love Lady Like because I feel like I am hanging out with friends. Y’all warm my heart. ❤️
“Shoulders are very naughty and need to be taught a lesson”
We didn't have these dress codes when I was growing up in the 70's and 80's. I mean, you couldn't wear hot pants or bikini tops, but other than that, they wouldn't have even thought about sending a student home because of her clothing. I can't even fathom having to worry about "tempting" the boys with my body parts when going to school. It's a HUGE step backwards for women and nobody seems to realize.
I grew up in the same time you did and we had crazy strict dress codes. You should look up AZ dress codes.
Danielle Deedee i live in florida too; i can relate it’s so annoying
I live in NC and it was pretty bad too but not that bad.
Yeh well in England we all have to wear suits and ties, in public school
almost everyone in the comments: my school has a dress code. for shoulders
me: we can wear croptops and spaghetti straps what?-
