The dress code in my school is basically:
-don't come naked

I think that Jen was technically right with the measuring. I think Avalon measured it down the leg instead of straight down. An easier way would've been to measure six inches on the tape and then dangle it down to see if it touched the floor.
You can tell this was all filmed in the same day because Avalon is wearing the same outfit every time

In my district AJH/AHS (Angleton jr high/ high school) we have a pretty laid back dress code.
Ex: we can wear like really ripped jeans we just have to wear leggings underneath and we can cover it with paper.

I live in Texas, but I'm originally from New Jersey. The only dress-code rule we had in school was no flip-flops allowed. Not because they were "inappropriate" but because they were a tripping hazard. I feel fortunate to have grown up in a school system that cared more about kid's safety than what they looked like.

What? I’m from NJ and my school is so strict about dress code especially this year it tightened up so much. We’re allowed to wear flip flops tho and we must MUST like u have to or else u get sent to the office for like the whole day wear a lanyard which displays ur student ID. Like I get it’s for safety but teachers act like it’s the end of the world if u forget it 1 day.
We had a huge list of things we technically weren't supposed to wear...but the only main two they really enforced were "no spaghetti straps" and "no midriff"
I wore flip flops throughout my highschool career. I also tripped on stairs a lot. In hindsight...I probably shouldn't have worn the flip flops...
Our school wont let us wear shorts with tights (I do it anyway cuz I don't give a flying fuck) no LGBTQ or skulls, nothing that goes beyond the shoulders, no ripped jeans, no hair covering eyes and no gel in your hair, and for some reason no T shirts with long sleeves underneath because apparently it's a distraction

The whole measuring thing is such a good point though, it depends on the person measuring and that kind of stuff. Fabric can be pretty unpredictable sometimes and measure as longer in the morning and a lil shorter later in the day

I grew up 2 hours away from Monahans, and was high school in the late 2000s and the dress codes were INSANE.

That first one would’ve eliminated all of my shirts back in high school.
Also, if I was in high school now, with that dress code, I would’ve pointed out on the first day that the rules didn’t say I had to wear a shirt, just that I couldn’t wear any of the ones I had. I would’ve also pretended my family was much poorer than we actually were and claimed that my clothes were given to me by our church and that “we don’t have enough money for food AND clothing! Do you really want us to go hungry just so I can have a shirt that caters to your preferences?”
