Another thing to mention is the new TLR7 Sub do come with a little baggie with different rail keys that you can interchange with to fit for whatever gun you want. They are numbered 1-5. Number 4 and Number 5 rail keys will fit on the X Macro. Streamlight for some reason doesnt tell you this or has a list yet (That I know of) that tells you what number rail key fits what firearm. But for the X Macro, 4-5 will work flush with the trigger guard.
@LetoPartizan, thank you - just yesterday, I tried installing the TLR7 Sub with the #4 key - I opened the baggie and looked at all of the keys and concluded that there wasn’t a key that put the nub behind the screw, which in my opinion, is what was needed. In response, I initiated the return process of my StreamLight with the vendor I purchased from. This morning, I thought I’d search for a solution. I happened across this video and your response, so I tried the #5 key. It worked. It’s a tad bit sloppy - the light does not mount rock solid - it’s got linear movement if not completely tightened down - maybe 1/16” of play. I would have preferred a rock-solid key that filled the entire Picatinny slot to allow no movement like my other pistols (FN 509, 509c, 545, P220, etc.) but this will do. I will look just a bit more to see if there’s a better solution (different light/key that fully fills the void). We’ll see. Regardless, thank you.
The Tactical Development key appears to be no longer required for the Sig P365 X-Macro. The #5 key that now comes in the bag with the Streamlight TLR7 Sub works perfectly and when comparing them side-by-side appears identical to the Tactical Development key.
I hope so. I wanted this light but not if I have to buy extra parts for it to fit. I was looking on PA and reading I think it even said that it don’t fit flush. Unless they never updated the wording for it.
Great information. I was having the same issues. I took back the Sig version and got the 1913. Now I just need to order the custom key. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for this video! I too thought I bought the wrong version, however I actually purchased the tlr-7A which included several keys. Right out of the box, the light had the "UNIV-1" key (which makes sense) but it wasn't fitting at all. Looked in the box and there were other keys included. I ended up with the "1913-3" key using the TLR-7A and it fits nice and snug.
I bought the tac dev spacer but didn’t like it. I’ve got ping fingers and found the switch was obstructing within the trigger guard. I prefer the switch to be pushed forward a bit. Just my experience. I think I ended up using the number 1 size spacer that came with the streamlight.
Even though u got the wrong light it made out for a great learning video because of ur video I will now order the correct parts, and I just subscribed to your channel thanks
I just bought a AIWB Ember holster from Henry Holsters for the Sig P 365 x Macro with TLR 7 sub 1913 light. Henry will ship the correct macro key with the purchase of the holster. Awesome holster.
Just fyi all you guys that had previously purchased the sig version and upgraded to the macro, in my experience i contacted streamlight and they sent out the clamping portion to change it to 1913
Thanks for making this video. I have the same setup, and i have been wondering why the light wasn't flush against the trigger guard. You got a sub out of me. I went with the TACOPS and am running the True Precision barrel / Micro Comp.
I have the sig sauer p365 xmacro tac ops. What holster are you using for your pistol. Only difference with the Tacops is the slide release, no comp and magazine shroud. other than that all the same as the xmacro. I have the same light for it.
If u have the Tacops version get the 1913 version, then u can put the Tactical development pro ledge and get u a holster from QVO Tactical.. You're welcome
its to bad you didn't have some sort of affiliation link because I ordered it just because of your video! I was for sure I was doing something wrong turns out it was just not the right size without the key
So I’ve been told streamlight will send you the correct key/mount free of charge or do you still have to buy from 3rd party? I’m on the fence may just buy the 7a or olight

@@12gaugeSamurai not a problem! Im glad to help :D
i have used key number 5. It scratches the rail and comes off after 100 rounds . Maybe i’ll try number 4.

@@12gaugeSamuraicould you share the streamlight TLR -7 1913 gun light model or part number?,

Do you know What anti matter gas pedal is necessary for the 1913 tlr 7 for the p365 xmacro?
I bought sig rail one and came back from range and it must have came off while shooting. This video helped confirm the problem. Thanks!
i have the same setup. but i use the #5 key that came with the light. works fine.
The Sig Sauer XMACRO requires the TLR-7 Sub 1913 version. The 69402 SKU.
@US2AThey will both fit - but the Sub fits both. For the Sig 365 line of firearms, the Sub is preferable… for other firearms, the A is preferable
@US2A They are identical in size, the Sub simply has the mounting assembly moved further back
Yea he only said that in the video like 10x

That TLR looks like hell on that small firearm. Olight for the Sig Macro 1913 rail, + quick release clamp!!
Everyone has their own preference. Both very good lights.
I have the XMACRO TACOPS and had to call both SIG and Streamlight to verify that I was buying the right gear. It was a confusing purchase.
the 7x fits a bit more flush but not by much. still pretty good

Did u ask them for the correct key or did they just send it? Thinking about ordering one now that I looked them up ( cause of ur comment )
I put one of these on my P365XL. It's a high quality light I recommend it.
Definitely ordered the wrong light too! How hard would it be for Streamlight to make it clearer or add the adapters to the kits!
Is there another light manufacture that sells one that is ready out the box for the XMACRO?
Just fyi all you guys that had previously purchased the sig version and upgraded to the macro, in my experience i contacted streamlight and they sent out the clamping portion to change it to 1913
Good to know!! Thanks for sharing that!

I just last night Installed a TLR-8 Sub G with not a issue one.
What holster are you using with this setup? I’m having a hard time finding a holster that uses that key.

And longer barrel
I use the Axis Elite by Tier 1 Concealed made to accommodate the TLR7 Sub 1913
I made the exact mistake! But on bass pro you click on the 1913 and it gives you the other one to purchase so it’s on them
Why couldnt you have just used the tactical development key on the first Tlr-sub7(sig version) you purchased?
If u have the Tacops version get the 1913 version, then u can put the Tactical development pro ledge and get u a holster from QVO Tactical.. You're welcome
Same issue. Great vid. Thanks.
Have they updated these yet or do I still need to buy this key in May of 2024.
What is the name of the company.
its to bad you didn't have some sort of affiliation link because I ordered it just because of your video! I was for sure I was doing something wrong turns out it was just not the right size without the key
What’s the streamlight TLR-7 SUB 1913 part number?
Great video Sir! 👍🏻🫡
Do they make a key for m&p 2.0 compact 3.6 inch barrel.
I don't see it on the TD website and that may be because the keys that come with the TLR7 Sub 1013 will fit the M&P 2.0 fine?
My tac dev key just came in. But putting that little circle thing in is PIA. How long did it take you? Thanks for the info!
It’s a pain! Lol just be patient, I almost had to put it down and try again the next day! Haha
They are out of the keys at the moment. I wonder how long until they get more...I tried the #4 and there was too much play.
Key #5 is what you need to use. Key #5 was included in the original package.
So I’ve been told streamlight will send you the correct key/mount free of charge or do you still have to buy from 3rd party? I’m on the fence may just buy the 7a or olight
Streamlight replaced mine at no cost
I mounted mine just fine without the tac dev key
At the end of the day it all comes down to personal preference. What key from the Streamlight kit did you use? Thanks for the comment.
