I'd recommend the Combat Scope. You can just leave it on and you'll never waste ammo or blow yourself up. You can install all the other secondary mods and flip to them as you need them. Having the combat scope is almost like turning them off.

Hey jon, I started playing around the time you did but as a noob on hardcore/perma death. I had a few mistakes, and a few choices I made myself, but one of my recent deaths in game I actually did the same thing but with the Exocraft weapon... I thought the guy wanted me to hit copper to turn it into gold somehow and i shot the ground under me and insta killed myself. I was not happy about that one haha by the way, I watched all your no mans sky videos in the span of like a week. I am glad I found your channel thanks to no man's sky, and I am glad we started around the same time :) Tho I am on perma death so I haven't made it very far tbh, but I found normal mode to too easy for me
also 16. yes and no. i spoiled some of the lore for myself which I feel bad about so I won't do the same for you. plus the community seems to be like warframe where we avoid all spoilers for new players. however. 16 has such an impact and you see it everywhere, for reasons you will discover on your own, but there is a reason for it and the reason might break your brain
jon, hit tab to pull up inventory during pulse drive, it will make the video look less bit-ty. helps more with rendering! for example, @44:44 it looks like 480p quality but if you open up your inventory and say, do some categorizing with you inventory, it'll be 1080 hd. plus, while doing that itll save you time looking for things
You can refine lots of things for Nanites, or to get exotic metals. You should try experimenting. Like you can refine Whispering Eggs, or Radiant Shards for Nanites and lots of them. Then you can also refine rare metals to get more valuable metals like Platinum. You also need some inventory management. Hold essential things and store the rest in Storage Containers. I normally only keep materials I use a lot of, like for recharging, or basic materials for crafting. Anything I accumulate I would sell off. Sometimes I would help make space by using my ship to hold all the items I want to sell. Ancient Bones, or Salvage Containers are a great way to make quick money, but also so is Storm Crystals which you find on extreme planets. Wanna see something cool though? You can summon your Capital Ship from the surface of a planet and it looks pretty neat just above the atmosphere. Speaking of your Capital Ship, when you earn some cash, you can buy more Frigates and sending them on expeditions is a good way to make money too. If you want to upgrade your ship, a faster way to do so is to get the Submarine summoning station the sonar upgrade and from the Anomaly. Then go to a system with water and look for a planet with water. The more water the better. Find a planet with almost all water if you can. With the Submarine, use the sonar to find sunken crashed ships and go to town claiming all the ones you can get until you can't hold anymore. Then scrap them all and hope you get some Starship expansion slots out of it. When you start accumulating a lot of cash, you can just to go Trading Outposts, or wait inside a Space Station and just outright buy all the ships that come in and scrap them. The higher the class of ship, the higher chance you get to get an expansion slot upgrade.
I am trying very hard to explain things and not belittle your basic grasp of the game. You have never once come across a Basic Tech that is anything other than BASIC. IE: your ships photon cannon, hyper drive your suits hazzard protection or jet pack or your multi tool bolt caster or mining beam, are ALL basic .....no Class asociated with them at all. The UPGRADE modules that are ADDED to them have classes. You can disassemble to reclaim resources ....or you can package them to move them or reinstall them later. Both options are explained in the tools tips that show up at your cursor when ever you hover over tech.
make sure to sell your goods to starship pilot NPCs! because selling to them DOES NOT affect the economy like selling to the galactic terminal. its like hand to hand trading instead of selling something through amazon. so you can farm a planet without reducing the price each time selling to starship pilot NPCs, unlike selling at the galactic trade terminal.
I dont know that you are "suppsed" to know what ancient keys are used for, but it is kind of hard to beleive that with this many hours and as much of the tutorial behind that you dont. Also they can be traded in to the explorers guild for rep.

I know you trimmed the video right at that moment, but did you eventually install those additional freighter inventory slots when you were shuffling your inventory, or did you store them away? In case no one mentioned it yet, DON'T use your metals to recharge your terraforming tool unless it's necessary! You can recharge using silicate powder!! If your personal refiner is empty, you can pick up item (sodium, etc) and drop it directly into the refiner while in the inventory menu. It will begin to process automatically. (For ps4 anyway, read the options for pc...)
Please be sure to have a camera close-up ready for that last atlas station. It'll be a classic blow your mind moment. I love watching your excitement for the game every single time. No Man's Sky has so much awesome depth and watching you discover it is truly a joy. Be well.
The anomaly is for blue prints for weapon's, exo suit, ship, exo crafts and space station sell upgrades for the blue prints to make the blueprints more powerful. Some multitools you can find can have items you not unlocked yet in anomaly.
Echo locaters can be used from anywhere, but sentinal ships are only located on dissonent worlds. If there is one in the system you are in it will point yowards it.
So I could be wrong but I’m pretty sure you need all the portal glyphs unlocked in order to get to where your living ship is in the star birth mission just a heads up
I recommend binding something else to switching your alt (secondary weapon). Right now it's the scroll wheel which is probably too easy to hit by accident.
I have my multi tool so powerful I walk and harvast.i have several 100s of 1000s units of almost everything.i can craft damn near anything at any given time

Rip to several of my 100+ hours characters on permadeath due to exactly this. Also falling into a hole I didn't see and didn't jetpack in time.

16 is important, it explains a lot but its also end game mission, and dont want to spoil it, but follow the quest and all will be explained
