    super video. I purchaced an used Vision S Series Kamado. I'm in the process of doing the same things you taught in this video. Any air leaks make it impossable to cool down your Kamado if you overshoot your target tmep. Thank you for the vid.

    Gosh, man. Thank you for showing this to us. I am planning on getting one of those Kamado Joe's. Our Costco only has the red ones in Houston, Texas. Once my foot gets better, it's in a fracture boot now. I plan to go pick one of these up, but I hear it's 300 pounds or so; thus, you gotta have help assembling it. But, be nice to make it as temperature-stable as you have done. Good job. I would have had to figure out all of this by myself. Dont' know if I could have done it, without guidance like yours.

      I dont know if you will run into the same issues with a kamado joe. They have a better chimney and bottom vent. I believe they also use a different gasket. In turn, they cost about double the pit boss.

      The Kamado I seen at Costco was the Louisiana 24 which has high temp gasket on the bowl and lid.

    Thanks for sharing the video very informative. The main reason I was watching it I was interested in how you rectified the hinge on the lid I find the bolts were loosening all the time and very wobbly. When I would tighten them up it would set the lid to one side and it wouldn't close properly.

    • @natural7098
      @natural7098  Год назад

      Yes, that was my problem. I have had no issues for over two years since adding the two nuts with longer bolts. A tip: do one bolt at a time, so you don't disconnect the hinge during the swap.

    I got the same grill from Costco, never had any of these issues. Going on 6 months with mine. Also, beware if you ever have any cracks occur in the ceramic you’ve pretty much completely voided your warranty. Not criticizing, just people should beware before making any modifications that the manufacture will use to get themselves out of any warranty issues.

    • @natural7098

      The only real mod is the tightening of the air intake. You could easily use felt to tighten the air gaps. No warranty issues with anything else. The chimney vent is the stock chimney, just replaced as mine was damaged.

    That grate system came with the kamado or you buy it separately ? Would like to have one of those to be able to rise and lower my grates. Thanks in advance 😊

      It was purchased online at ceramicgrillstore.com they have a bunch of addons for all different types of Kamados. I purchased the adjustable rig system and the spider stone bundle. Makes a huge difference as it gets the meat further from the stone and causing less burning on the bottom of the meat at higher heat.

      I was curious i have the Louisiana same kamado. What type of gasket did yours come with i had the nylon on the body and the high temp felt on the dome.. i know my dome is leaking as well but i was gonna add an extra layer of gasket on the dome to seal that. And i do know my ash door is loose. I agree a bead of silicone and hammering the guide a lil will cure that. But i think the manufacturs dome will be ok with an extra layer of gasket.

    • @natural7098
      @natural7098  3 года назад +1

      Mine had a high temp felt on both top and bottom but it was quite thin. I replaced it with the thickest could order. Seems to have done the trick. Also, depending on hinge, some adjustments can be made to allow the lid sit better and tighter.

    I like the longer bolt and double nut. Anybody have a fix for the lid alignment? Mine has been offset over a half inch off since I got it. Original top was cracked so CostMore pulled a lid off another. Its like the springs pull the lid back. Dealt with it for years but always fought keeping under 237ish. Now the Gasket needs replacing but really want the lid to align. Too heavy and expensive to replace the whole thing!

    • @natural7098
      @natural7098  2 года назад +1

      I did remove my lid when I changed the bolts. In hindsight I wouldn't have done it. I would have done a bolt at a time. I did have a little bit of realignment issues once I replaced the lid but I just tweaked the bolts on the back and the sides and I eventually got it to sit properly again. It was a pain in the butt but there are a few videos on how to do the adjustments. I would not dare take mine apart again to try to film it.
