It's kind of disrespectful to disregard Muhammad Ali's boxing ability and say 'he's the greatest because he was fighting for a cause'. No. He had a chin, he had defence, he was elusive and he had incredible speed and power. The greatest boxer should be decided on whether they can beat anyone that is put in front of them. Not everyone that they can hand pick. That's why I'll always have Ray Robinson at the top of my list. He just had the whole package. Every boxing aspect - you name it, he had it. He just outclasses everyone. And just to throw it out there Ali won a gold medal. Winning a gold medal is the definition of not dodging anyone.

As for heavyweights they are known for standing and dishing out blows just as much as they receive them.
