It was a brilliant answer but the question wasn't dumb. The "rope-a-dope" is probably in the webster dictionary and no one really is born with the ambition to be tied to that. He had to grow beyond that and understand his story and the lessons of his story in order to communicate his larger live lessons. Not everybody woulda been able to get past that, much less befriend the guy who humbled you. That was the genesis of the question, I think.

i love that George Foreman respect so much Alì that he completely embraced Alì's narrative of the fight.
Foreman was right. Ali's presence was highly special. I had the honor of talking with him in 1979 backstage at the LA Forum for 35 minutes. I had built a prop for that TV show. Ali cared more about discussing that instead of discussing his boxing career history.
