Berto is breaking it down better than anyone ever. This is classic. Berto should take some tips away from that Floyd experience.
TheIVth ohh mediocrity?? Lmaooo I'm dead
to the T
smh......
But u know boxing? Legends admire Floyd but because YOU don't like him he's not good. I'll take the words of Leonard, Hearns,Toney,Holyfield and others. This man just sat there and told you how hard it is to fight the man and you don't get it. Not to mention the reason Floyd fights the way he does is because of BRITTLE HANDS!!! SMFH...
Yes. This is the best description I've ever heard of a boxer giving insight on what it was like to face Mayweather. People train to go to war but realize its a massive mental chess game against Floyd. Also, I like how Berto was saying that Floyd was very observant of everything around him including Berto's breathing/energy level. Many boxers and trainer have suggested using many feints against Mayweather, but few ever have really attempted to do so.
Fighting Floyd sounds like trying to punch in a dream.
Fillup 82 that’s trueeee
+THEKID yooooo I thought I was the only one lmaooo!!
HOODTHO I can't punch hard in my dreams lol crazy
The good thing is that I never die on my dreams

“Losing to me isn’t a loss. It’s a learning experience.” - Floyd Mayweather
Absolutely…. The way Berto explained Floyd shows that he is also intelligent, and learned a lot in that fight.
Canelo approves of this message. hat fight alone elevated his game so much
Love floyd
That’s some cold shit 😂😂😂
Floyd is a old school fighter. Training with vets like his pops, uncle Roger and Sweet Pea. He was able to pick up old school tactics and different tricks of the trade. A lot of these fighters today aren’t old school and Floyd was the last of a dying breed. Shakur and Bud are the closest thing to him. I could say Canelo bc Canelo doesn’t fight like a typical Mexican boxer. Canelo picked up a lot of things from black fighters, mainly Floyd.
This is the type of video you watch once every 2 years
Looks like they're pushing this into the algorithm again after that Logan fight.

The guy knows how to take a loss and appreciate his opponent and is humble enough to describe how he got outboxed. Much respect
A real man he is
It's easier to appreciate when u know u suppose to lose
@@darrellwilliams9646 What is you trying to say 💀
@@darrellwilliams9646 makes no since what you typed
It wasn't so much that the got outboxed. I'm sure he's been outboxed before, and I'm also pretty sure he knew going in there he's gonna get outboxed by Floyd.
What seems to super amazed him is that he's never been in the ring with someone so embodied the "sport" part of this combat sport. The sport has rules, and Floyd took advantage of just about every one of them. He plays the clock. He clinches whenever necessary. He keeps punch count low to minimize damage, conserve strength, and most importantly, to make it easier for judges to see who got hit more. If there were 3 punches landed and I land 2, it's pretty easy to tell who landed more vs a 25 - 27 punches landing at a 30% average accuracy, for example. The man made point fighting a science.
For all Floyd's flash and flare, he never allows himself to succumb to vanity inside the ring
100% discipline
very well said, and very true. he may have brought his ego into the ring with him occasionally very early in his career, but never once he hit welterweight and beyond.
Cause it's all about proving a point.
Yeah and he trains year round (or use to before he retired)
He’s emotionless in the ring

Berto is still in awe of the schooling floyd gave him.

"he's not a big puncher, he's a sharp puncher."
That's what it looks like watching Floyd... Happy to see berto actually say that's what it feels like fighting him.
He can punch hard too, he just doesn’t wanna mess up his knuckles, he stunned/hurt berto with a punch and made his leg buckle, he even made him do a little chicken dance
Yes Floyd caught that and mocked him...but a commentator said during the Mayweather Guerrero fight every right hand from Mayweather is atleast a 7 out of 10...idc who you are you don't wanna get hit like that again...but you know you will....if he wanted to he could up that to a solid 10 and it would prolly still be faster than you could react but after repeatedly breakin his hand and opponents winning rounds due to his inactivity Floyd doesn't try to break your head no more...he's perfectly content with being way faster then you and leavin speed knots and cuts all over the place for 12 rounds...but if you ain got no chin and you ain got no power enuff to make him respect your hands he will knock your ass out...
@@imskyhigh4449 that slicing right hand he hit Guerrero with was definitely a 9/10,,,, Guerrero has a great chin

The best thing about this interview is he's not sour about losing.. he respects mayweather for his style ✊🏾💯
DDrummerJones true
he WAS salty but he copped a few whips been doing his thing. So now he's chilling.
DDrummerJones he’s a professional that’s why. Respect
That because he didn't get beat up. He ain't have no black eye or nothing. Its different when your jaw swollen and your lip ducked fucked up and concussions. That's why he compared it to sparring
If i made that much money I wouldnt be sour either
Every year or so I come back to this interview, it’s an unbelievable breakdown of how mayweather operates. It shows how unbelievable he was at his craft, but also just love Berto’s description. He’s a brilliant talker and all round humble/respectful guy. Great interview
When they make the Mayweather documentary they have to use this interview. He describes so well the things fans didnt understand. If Mayweather or his team said this it would seem like mear bragging.
They do. They really HAVE TO include this interview.
It should be one of thr opening scenes
Exactly it baffles me how people keep saying mayweather ran from fights he never did. Boxing is the art of hitting without getting hit. Berto broke it down to a T. His defense was to wear you down both physically and mentally then pick you apart.
This guys spirit is so pure. Not envyous at all. This a champion.

good talk
My dad once told me he had only seen a handful of fighters who remain perfectly calm and poised in the heart of a storm. And Mayweather is one of them.
Connor McGregor said ALMOST the same thing- that Floyd is so calm and poised.
Yeah for sure. Salvador Sanchez also comes to mind
The beauty of Floyd is he makes you second guess yourself, everything you've throw has either missed or he's caught and countered you, shows why many of his opponents end up just following him around and getting pinged all the time.
😂they be talking about floyd like a mythological creature
Yes, Floyd is kind of like Jimi Hendrix. His skills are so otherworldly, you will swear that he is not from this planet. Indeed, his in-ring gifts are so finely tuned that it does make Floyd seem to be more myth than man. And with all that he has accomplished, he may very well be the greatest athlete that I've ever seen.

Zach B most liked comment with no comment
Manuel then u had to fuck it up
Zach B No! he started out as a Great Offensive Boxer and he was knocking his opponents down during those times. I believe it was during his time when his father change his style from Offense to Defense. When he fought Andre Berto he did not perfect his Defensive Style yet.
He broke his hands, thats why he became a defensive fighter
wtf are you talking about. Its either i read that wrong or your stupidity is over 9000. *HOLD UP* let me read it again ................................... so you're saying a guy that is KNOWN for his extraordinary defensive skills *didn't* perfect his defensive skills even after his last professional fight. “Some boxers are talented... but I’m gifted.. You can’t teach a gift.” -Floyd Mayweather
"Some boxers are talented, but Im God-gifted. Ain't nobody stopping God's work."
I get what Floyd is trying to say but they both the same damn thing you look for talents because you can't train someone into a talent. You can train a talent into a great fighter.

He worked for that hard work
Can you teach talent?
This interview has made me realize that Berri has a long career ahead of him as an analyst or commentator if he wants it. Great breakdown on Mayweather, prolly the best I've ever heard
DEFINITELY the best I've ever heard. There is ZERO jealousy in this guy's interview. Nothing but 1000% respect for Floyd, & I respect TF outta that. I HATE Floyd's fighting style, BUT...he's SO damn good at it, you have to give him his props like Berto has. Glad I stumbled upon this interview.
Facts. He's going to be a great trainer if he takes that route.
I would love to hear Shane's side of the story since he had some highlights then that opportunity was closed immediately the following round
It's crazy because you can tell that Berto knows exactly what the fuck he's talking about when it comes to the way Floyd Mayweather does his thing. I can see Floyd being super intelligent and super observant which is why he has been a successful as he's been at any stage in his career
Berto is capping. He told the story trying to make it seem like Floyd ran the whole fight and only hit him a few times a round when Floyd outlanded him 232 to 83. And they both threw over 400 punches.
@@TajWolfe exactly. Kept saying he got in that bicycle like come on man cut that out 😑

I'm up there with you
Seen this interview like 23 times and it still makes me laugh. Never heard someone describe an 'L' with such professional detail. I actually respect Berto more
It would be an L if he didn’t learn anything from being in the ring with him.
This is the type of L anyone would welcome with open arms haha...💰💰💰💰
It's a 'Nuff respect' statement. Gotta give props where they are due.
There's nothing better in a man than giving another man his props.
You must never watch team sports
The reason Floyd is a defensive fighter now is because he's suffered from bad hands for years and getting older. Pretty Boy Floyd was offensive constantly throwing fast sharp accurate punches. Had a very good KO percentage aswel. The way he was able to change his style completely mid career shows you the genius of the man. That's why he is TBE
Yep..almost retired 10 years into his career.. spot on.
Neo another reason tht you forgot is he's fighting at higher weights now. Floyd said it himself tht he shld be fighting at 140 right now. Skills carried him at 147 and 154, if he was still fighting 140 he'd be getting more K.O's....

I think I watched it like 10 times, Andre berto gives a perfect description of what it's like fighting a fighter, who master the sweet science of boxing.
Love his comment about Floyd's eyes; they're calm and see everything. Other fighters keep their hands up to defend the head, Floyd defends his body first, arms wrapped around his waist, head leaning back out of range. Reach and eat a jab. When his opponent has longer arms, Floyd still seems to have the reach advantage, I don't know how. Never goes for the kill - what's the rush? Not afraid to take a round off, whether behind or ahead. The guy just sees the bigger picture.
He always has the reach advantage due to mastery of controlling distance
@@nananyantakyi1549 Most of the time he did enjoy a reach advantage even over taller opponents

Here's what some of Floyd's opponents said about him after facing him.
*Ricky Hatton* - "I was fighting a genius, a boxing artist. I was getting more and more frustrated. Lose your cool against Floyd Mayweather and what you do is you get knocked out."
*Canelo Alvarez* -
"He doesn't expose anything. He's a fighter that if with three punches he wins the round from you, he's fine with that. He doesn't expose anything and give a beautiful fight. He doesn't care in what way he wins as long as he wins.
He's very fast and accurate and moreso when he's just trying to make points. I didn't really feel his punches were that strong. But he's making points and he's very fast."
*Juan Manuel Marquez*
"Mayweather has great defense, long arms, and he's very smart. Mayweather's reaction time is amazing. He sees what you are about to throw and is out of there before you can punch."
*Zab Judah* - "His defense is impregnable, his hand speed is super fast, his conditioning is always marvelous. What can you say? The guy, he's one of the hardest working fighters in boxing"
James B great post. Nothing better that honest accounts of people who have been in the ring with him.

Me too, I fucking hated Floyd at one point, I wanted him to get KTFO so bad 🤣🤣 because he was so good and hard to hit but after his fight with Mosley, when I thought Mosley was gonna knock him out after rockin him, I gave Floyd his respect and enjoyed his fighting style
Been watching floyd since his fight with chicanito. Floyd was a beast but i always felt he avoided fighting volume punching cardio freaks with great chin and packs power in both hands. Margarito, kostya tszyu and prime pacquiao can certainly OUTWORK floyd and look more aggressive. Floyd used to be not so defensive and he was more deadly back then coz he more aggessive. some people were and still are so caught up in his money mayweather persona that they didn't realize that behind all the glitz , glamour , hubris and lack of ability to read complete sentences lol was a defensive boxing genius the likes we may never see again. dude literally studied his opposition in real time like a computer I actually feel bad for berto because you can tell he didn't know what he was dealing with , how can you beat someone like that dude wastes no motion every movement has a purpose even his breathing the sport is really gonna miss that guy
John C exactly
entertaining fighter? so what kind of sheeeeet are you smoking daaaamn dude your brain is melting really fast stop taking drugs you nobody
TUNCEHI He's so boring, yet after he fights Conor, he will have the top 4 all time grossing ppv fights, yeah, that makes a lot of sense, smh
Johnny Savage then stop watching it you fucking female
He is keeping in 💯about Mayweathers skills and experience and knowledge in the ring.
Honesty and respect from Andre is amazing. This guy has a bright future.
Berto sounds pretty smart and knows his stuff. He would make a good analyst on HBO. Seemed to understand Mayweather's style and method of winning fights without a big punch. Very informative interview.
Johnny G I would love to hear him as a commentator
Floyd said it many times in past interviews that he doesn't want to end up like boxers with disabilities after retirement. The lesser you get hit, the longer you're going to stay in boxing. That's what he said. He's so conscious about his health, that's how he developed his style.
he saw what was happening to his uncle roger, slowly deteriorate.
Ra S good point look at his dad to thru both a lil slower now
yeah man, he only really needs to look at his uncles at his gym to know what happens when you take too much punishment. Uncle Roger is the worst, then his Father Floyd and then Jeff
Don't Kill Yourself Before You're Dead true facts indeed bro! The man was smart about preserving himself, a true genius and boxing prodigy!💯‼️👑💪🏾☀️✊🏾
That is not why he developed that style stop guessing.. His father taught him that style from a child. Floyd fights exactly like Sr. did defense first shoulder block and eyes on your opponent at all times.. Jr. was better at it thats all..
Berto should get a medal for this 👍
Roberto Guerrero “he reacted to my blinks, it was crazy” 😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
He's a very articulate young man, great interview.
Theo P chill bro
Theo P oh my bad
Cantankerous Twat SHOULD HE NOT BE? AT HIS AGE?
yeah..surprise isn't it?
A Black man that is " Articulate"....lol
Nick Stiver tom11zz884 he never said anything about race. Wtf are you guys on. Not once did he mention race, so why are YOU all jumping to conclusions?
Wow. Floyd is playing human like chess pieces. He is truly the best ever.
I'm so grateful to MR. Berto by sharing his experience from his fight against Mr. Floyd Mayweather with us, being in the ring and outside of it is totally different. Thanks for being so humble and not acting like many cowards lying about his greatness.
Berto is amazing, .......man.....what a description.....he is such a smart and funny guy.....there is so much respect and admiration, so detailed and precise in the way he describes while being hilarious.
And that is why Floyd still looks fresh in the ring at his age. He doesn't go to war because he doesn't need to.
Can't Wheelie Rob
Running and holding his apponent worked throughout Floyds career. Corruption also worked in his favor.
Can't Wheelie Rob No he’s a PED head
@@georgejacknowitz1907 In almost every fight that they said "he ran" he not only landed danm near 200 punches, but had a high connect percentage, and out landed his opponents 3-1. If you get hit 200 times in a fight on the streets but he slipped danm near all of your punches, and at the end of the fight, your excuse was that "he ran", everyone who saw the fight would laugh in your face. Smh
@@georgejacknowitz1907
You would hate Muhammad Ali then. Watch how many times he clinches in a fight.
