    Charlie enjoyed the video. I’m in a very similar position having bought a new Evora 410GT Sport last December and coming up to the 1 year anniversary. I have really enjoyed the car. The absolute highlight this year was taking it down to the South of France via Route Napoleon ( highly recommended and obviously influenced by Harry M trips)The original plan was to go on the Emira waiting list last year, test drove the Evora to get a feel of the sport chassis before choosing to order a sport or touring Emira, but was hooked on the feel and sound of the Evora. Also the waiting list at that point was just weeks old, but I knew this would mean at least an 18 month wait. Now seeing two people I know still waiting and delays on their new Emira’s I’m glad I made the decision I did. Yes I’m sure the Evora’s will drop initially, but as we know they are the last hand-built Lotus, Evora’s are lighter and slightly quicker and the sound is frankly breathtaking… Even had a Ferrari 458 with Tubi Exhaust driver complement the sound of the Evora on the way down to the channel tunnel. Look forward to the next Evora update. All the best.

    I think they will start to appreciate but may take a little time. The Evora is a fantastic car. The Emira is gonna be a much more mass market car. So the Evora will be more sort after.

      Hmm I think the opposite personally, short term at least. I'm waiting for the emira to start flowing out of Hethel and with that comes people chopping in their Evora's part ex. I'm hoping that by early next year I will be able to pick up a good example of a 400 at a much lower price than right now, but let's see! 🤷‍♂️

    I put money down on the new Lotus Emira. I also test drove the car. When I found out I would have to wait till late 2024 or whenever, I bought a 2018 Lotus Evora 400. Now driving that car, I no longer want the Emira. Simply put, the Evora is a driver's car, the Emira much less so. I plan on putting on GRP cold air intake and decat. That should make it pretty much on par with the Lotus Evora 410GT at least. PS: After test driving the Emira, I took out my 1996 NSX (which has a complete airflow system plus a Comptech supercharger and found the NSX better than the Emira. It's not better than the Evora.

    What a brilliant video thankyou for sharing your thoughts and putting that together, liked and subscribed 👍. I have a RGB exige s2, owned it about 7/8 years. I feel like the Emira is a completely new direction for lotus. I don't think they will ever go as raw/lightweight as previous models. I'm pretty sure that'll only keep up the demand, regardless of how well the brand does now. I think(hope) the new vehicles can only increase in brand recognition which hopefully will up the value of the Elise Exige and Evora.

      Thank you so much! That means a lot. Yeah I think the Emira needs to do very well in order for the brand recognition to be increased for good reasons, it’s only a matter of time I think!! 🤞

    I'd take your car over an Emira, looks amazing esp in yellow, lighter, revs higher, sounds better, no electric seats and will be much rarer! Glad you're keeping the Evora for the time being, be good to get our cars together, I'd be interested to see what you think of the GT430.

    initially yes. Long term absolutely not. Evora was hand built. It was also in limited production especially 2013-14 S models. Long term they will be priced like the Esprit and that will then depend on conditions. They are now selling from low 30's to $200s.

    I think the later evoras like yours are so much more special than the new emira. I currently drive a 22 gti and it's made me realize I would prefer a car with less technology and more character before the evs take over. There's me hoping at least the 400's do take a hit in value so I can get in one at a good price and drive it until the wheels fall off. That being said hoping examples like yours stay at the top of the heap because they truly are special cars.

    I have an evora s 2012
    if I were spending £75k I would definitely get a mclaren 12c
    but if it were between the two I would get the Emira because I expect it will be better built

    I'm hoping so as I'm after an Evora, preferably with as much carbon as possible.

  • @henryhol8538

    I suppose we need to wait till those get to production and are actually with customers before we can be sure where we stand pricewise. The major advantage of the Evora is: Its lighter, it sounds better, and you can take children out with it. I believe you even have an opening bonnet. That a hell of a packaging one upmanship over the two seater Emira that has the same wheelbase.

    Sell ASAP, Emira has wiped out all previous Lotus models price points. It's always upsetting when a new model comes out and results in price drops for older models but this is much worse. The Emira is a far more attractive, equipped, modern and most importantly cheaper car. This is a financial disaster for existing Lotus owners of older models, the only hope is the waiting list for Emiras is long so sell now or just enjoy car while seeing a massive write off of the car's cost.

  • @cjmadura
    @cjmadura 2 года назад

    While the Emira is a good-looking unique car (outside of Lotus cars), the Evora is simply a better looking car with monster abilities. When I retire in about 7 years, I hope I can find a beautiful condition Laser Blue Evora GT430. Tall order as I'm sure not many were produced in that color, but that's the plan today......

      Currently to sell £60k tops. £75k - not a hope in hell.
      Sub £50k is thenew norm for 400's and privately sold I expect the 410 to get to low 50's in 2024.@@CharlieDrives

    Charlie, we EVORA owners look forward to you enjoying the car more, however I cannot help but wonder if the LOTUS will spend money on variants of the Emira when their focus is on EV's but given there is a GT4 track version who knows

      @CharlieDrives  2 года назад

    £75k is too much, I paid £83k for my 6 months old one 3 years ago and I bought that when new prices were peaking. I think the GT410/430's are a better car than the first Emira's, once they add some carbon and more importantly power they will be better but the later Evora's will be rarer and possibly more desierable to a lot of people. I think if you wanted to sell mid to high £60k's would be the price.

    I see the emira to be an evolution of the evora. So I think evoras may drop in price. But definitely not the Elise. Those you cannot purchase anymore, and they will never be made again. So if anything jumps in value, it’ll be that.
    The closest competition to the Elise would be the Miata MX-5, fiat 124 spider, alfa 4c spider. And it’s better than all those in terms of performance. The Elise is already legendary, more so than the evora imo

    I think they will drop. No one will want an Evora when they can get a better put together Emira. Also it’s less than 100kg in weight difference to the evora.
