Thank you for the upload! I am big fan of your table tennis tutorials. I've started table tennis about 5 months ago when I went to a table tennis club with my dad. Every single video you have is very helpful :) and it will help many beginners like me.
Jaehyuk Oh It's great you've started playing table tennis. It is a great game and there is lots to learn :) Make sure to also check out the PingSkills website for more information on table tennis!
I have a one little question if you don't mind answering this. I have a penhold grip, is it possible that I mix with a shake grip technique? I know backhand smash in a penhold is very hard since my body must twist a lot..can I replace this with a shake style backhand?(but with penhold grip?)
PingSkills As you mention, you should stick with the same grip. For the backhand smash we actually recommend that you move around and hit a forehand. If the ball is high enough you will have time for this. Look at our video on the backhand smash and you'll see what I mean. The other thing is that you can use the reverse penhold backhand to get good power with the pengrip. Google "penhold techniques pingskills" and in that video you'll see a demonstration. Let me know if this helps you out.
Hi Matthew Finn, At the higher level the players choose which rubber they put on each side of the bat. This way they can customise it how they like. A lot of players use exactly the same rubber on the forehand and backhand. Players can choose to have a faster rubber on their backhand if they prefer though. That's why they call it a custom bat. :)
The statistics aren't very reliable because each manufacturer puts there own statistics together. We recommend the PingSkills Rook as a good beginner bat but there are lots of good choices.
I do that first drill & I can walk while I do it. You showed me some other ways like lifting your leg. Im definately going to add it to my individual practice along with everything else you showed in this video. Thanks ping skills.
Thanks JM Welch. I'm glad you are finding our videos helpful. Good luck with your table tennis. If you ever have any questions then you can ask us question using the "ask the coach" section of our website.
with these exercises i learn how to control the ball.. improves reflex.. this is my warm up when playing with my office mates... thanks alois.. Godbless pingskills..
wonderful and unique video... i was searching how to increase the control of the ball in the game. i didn't find any video on that. hope this practice session helps me :) will start practicing from today.
I find it very pleasing to listen to this. I don't know why though. There's something really pleasant and calmful, maybe in your voice, maybe in the ball sound. It's like the nowadays so called ASMRs but this one is definitelly much better :)
This video is really helpful. I have started table tennis recently and i dont really get to practice at the club . they only let me to do for 10 to 5 mins becz i am a beginner. But by watching this video i can start practising on my own . it amazing and thanx a lot
If you want to make more videos, could you please make more of how to practice alone? I have no one to hit the ball towards me but I still wanna practice! Thank you for this video!
Just what I was looking for! Really good video, and nice site, the subtitles also helped me to fully understand the video :-) Can't wait to try those exercises! :-D
as for me - only bouncing is useful for doing by oneself - other is boring and doesnt reflect the game. rolling the ball from one side to another is something I didnt see, it looked great - i will try to achieve that level. thanks for help
what about hitting the ball directly when it come back from the ball? when u go fast on it or alter the angel u hit the ball u can really improve your reflexes!
I m participating in a table tennis tournament bt there is no player who can help me in practising and if I will not practise than I will not be able to play better in the tournament. So how would I practice alone to make myself better than be4 in table tennis ??
I'm glad they helped. Good luck with your table tennis. If you ever have any table tennis questions you can ask them using the Ask the Coach section of the PingSkills website.

Hey,which stat-sped control,spin-is best for begginer.also which racket.500?
The statistics aren't very reliable because each manufacturer puts there own statistics together. We recommend the PingSkills Rook as a good beginner bat but there are lots of good choices.

Excellent. Enjoy your purchase.
Just buy a stiga or a killerspin paddle
